«Your leaving me now! After we just got so familiar and comfortable, you know what I like, I know what you have to offer. We’ve both been good to each other.» I feel like I’m getting dumped. Usually I’m to blame but in this scenario, the economy and times have taken their tole.
This is more of an Ode then a review. Mishka, the street fashion label is closing not just there NYC store but the ones in Tokyo, San Francisco and LA. As an independent fashion and culture brand, there physical presence will no longer exist. This is unfortunately becoming way to common. I guess they say the good die young, but NYC is also loosing the likes of Trash and Vaudeville which closed its epic doors on St. Marks yesterday. It’s sad. I know it’s hard for independents to stay afloat but brands like Mishka and the recently closed Cotton Candy Factory (Tara McPherson’s art gallery in BillyBurg) are a true loss to the creative world.
Mishka has always stood out in its design, with its iconic «Keep Watch» giant eyeball logo, snake tongued bear and Cyclopes kaiju skeleton, it has a very unique look and style. Mostly a purveyor of street ware featuring Hats, Hoodies, tee shirts, socks, pins and patches. Even a phenomenally cute kids line. They are always on the edge of fresh and new. And so encapsulate their own look that it’s obvious when you see something that it came from them.
They also were huge artistic supporters, doing collaborations with artists. Featuring limited run wares and accessories. From tattoo artists, brands such as Rebel 8, Stay Healthy, Death Traitors to giants like Sesame Street… You heard that right. Freakin Sesame Street. Who doesn’t wanna see Big Bird all decked out like Tupac and Cookie Monster fighting a giant kaiju and the count just Rollin super vamp.
They just plain and simple had swag. A swag that we need. Brooklyn needs, NYC needs, this is why we’re all here right to have a cornucopia of culture and arts, pleasure and sin.
So it will be a sad day on March 13^th when Mishka closes its doors and turns off its iconic purple neon lights and takes away one more amazing thing that made us: NYC, cool.
To the amazing staff, like Carmin, thanks for always being so friendly and kind and showing me the coolest stuff that I would have never found without your knowledgeable eye.

I first heard of this brand through my boyfriend. One of his friends worked for them and ever since my boyfriends been in love with their pieces. He never owned anything from there, so I decided to stop by their store located in Brooklyn and see what all the hype was about. I ended up getting my boyfriend some really cool pieces. That was about 5 years ago, and I still shop here for my boyfriend to this day! The area is pretty rundown looking and creepy at night, but hey, that’s Brooklyn for ya. I travel all the way from Manhattan to this store because although they have an online store, I like to see things up close and personal so I can feel the material better and the quality and color of the images, etc. Whenever I see something I’d like for my boyfriend, I call the store and tell them to hold the item for me. I’ve never had a problem with their customer service, and the workers at the store are pretty friendly and helpful. If the items weren’t so pricey, I’d definitely grab a couple of pieces for myself. $ 70 for an XL hoodie for my boyfriend is fine, but I can’t justify spending that much money on a small hoodie for myself lol They do have good sales though, so who knows! Overall, this is a pretty dope store with some cool looking/​eccentric pieces.

Good selection of really interesting and outlandish street wear. I can’t say that it is all my style but, the right enthusiast could rock it right.

Everybody who just loves this clothing, better not try to return anything they bought online. The policy is anything on sale cannot be returned. So you better be sure that this «rad», «unique», «loud» clothing that everybody just raves about, better be what you want. «I’m sorry, Miss… no returns on sale clothing. That’s our policy.»

Great designs and reasonably priced. Very friendly staff too. I’ll definitely be back.

The clothing is so unique and loud, you can literally wear any one Mnwka thing wether it be a shirt, a hat, pants, in your outfit whatever it is I grantee it will standout… Well it would have of but they closed. You can still go to (

Love the clothes but on line customer service is poor. I can’t ship to address different than billing address. I can deal with that but not the egghead who cancelled my order after he couldn’t resolve issue professionally.

Mishka is rad clothing brand was created by Mikhail Bortnick and Greg Rivera. The name means «Bear Club» in Russian. The only shops that exist are in LA, San Fran, Tokyo and lucky for us BROOKLYN! The brand started and Brooklyn and let me tell you, you can see it street roots. I am smitten with their signature eyeball! I sew eyeball brooches myself and of course am a huge fan. And how can you not love a brand that made a special line for Dinosaur Jr. J. Mascis is my hero and he can be caught wearing tons of Mishka’s gear.
When I first came to the shop I had to go alllllll the way down Bedford past alllll the hipster spots. It started looking like old Williamsburg. Super sketchy and dirty and then I saw it. Yipeeee! I had to get buzzed in which was no surprise in this neighborhood. On second thought, it’s not that sketchy, it’s just not that hip. Anyways, back to my story, as soon as I walked in I loved it! They had a Adam Wallacavage chandelier. Wallacavage does amazing tentacle chandeliers. If you don’t know him, you should definitely look him up.
Then there was a massive Herman Munster head! I want one! They even have a video game machine. I was specifically looking for their signature beanies. My head is huge but I was able to squeeze into one. And of course, it was black and white. I seem to always wear black and white patterns. It has patches of a coffin, skeleton hand, 3 triangles layered over each other, bat wing, animal skull. I love it! I also got a sweet flying coffin pin for my vest.
They always have really great artist show here too. My favorite was Ben Venom. He did a spin on your grandma’s quilt. It’s a mixture of sewn fabrics creating skulls and daggers. I wanted it all but most of it was sold. I really want to make it to an opening to meet the artist. Hopefully I can make it happen soon!
I also own their sweet «Keep Watch» eyeball tank. And I have it in heavy rotation in the summer.

Amazing enviroment real laid back friendly service especially from a guy named eddie always willing to help and put outfits together. The element and designs are different but in all its such a rare art. Small masterpieces with each and every logo and style. I will def continue spending money solely on this clothing line. My boyfriend really loves Mishka, and through him I’ve started to really like this brand too. It’s very creative, fun and young. This store here is really small, and doesn’t carry everything on the Mishka website.
I must say that one of the staff members was really friendly in helping my boyfriend trying on stuff. The other man was really really rude and his attitude bothered me and made me feel like I was a nuisance. I was interested in buying a T-​shirt I saw online and also a beanie in a different color, but the one man was very rude and short with me. No they didn’t have the shirt I wanted and no there isn’t the same beanie in a different color. My boyfriend was interested in buying a hoodie, that wasn’t out on the sales floor. They had it out in the stock room but still in it’s original wrapping. The mean guy seemed to pressured my boyfriend to not try the sweater on in 2 different sizes… perhaps because he didn’t want to take 2 sweaters out of the packaging.
My boyfriend and I really liked one of the salesman, but both thought the other man was rude and was not a positive employee to have in this store. I will be back again, but only because the stuff is so damn cute. Hopefully that guy won’t be there and I’ll have a better shopping experience next time.

My husband is a huge fan of Mishka. I didn’t really understand the hype at first since it didn’t really seem like the clothes were that great. Eyeballs, scary bears, wolves and death. I wasn’t really sure what to take from it, other than it was fashion for the young and semi-​eclectic. T-​shirts and Jeans with an emblem it seamed generic. But I guess the eyeball draws you in somehow, because my husband is a fan and I love certain pieces that he chooses.
The store has a street fighter arcade machine in it so I was putting in a little work and the artwork is interesting. I think I found a new appreciation for the image. I have a dinosaur five panel now and I barely wear hats that I would trade for the world.

I use Unilocal and I shop at Mishka, what now America??? This store is really a fraction of the brand as a whole, which I believe has a retail location in Japan, an online store, and supports several local artists and a boxer (thank you, internets!).
All in all, the store is pretty dope. They have a buzzer, so you have to awkwardly tug on the front door before being let in. OoooOO the mystery continues! The layout is pretty simple yet creative, with art, toys and pillows decorating the space around the clothing racks. I think they have an arcade machine but I wasn’t paying attention as to what game.
They guy who was there seemed chill enough and not pretentious at all, which is refreshing, ya? The sizes displayed are pretty much all mediums but they have other sizes in back. The store gets all the new stuff before they put it online so if you’re a fiend, you probably want to shop in-​store.

Its the real life «how to make it America» .Love the design. The selection at the store is much smaller than the website. Kinda surprised about that The staff was super nice. Not snobby at all. Parking was easy. No complaints. Def pricey though. I bought a flannel shirt that was originally priced at 90 bucks. With the 30% all clothes deal they got going on it ended up being 60. Still pretty steep the shirt is great. Will buy more from there site now that I know the sizes. They have art as well that was cool. They also produce music groups so get on their site and support those artist.

Kinda hard to rate Mishka’s store as it’s really the brand behind it that makes it what it is. Their target audience isn’t really the Unilocal-​ing type so I can understand why some of the reviews are tinted. If you’re complaining about the prices that’s understandable, but realize how this compares to mass-​produced high fashion items you would find at any department store.
Store is beautifully designed. Showcases every item they carry and puts the focus back on the design without trying to oversell stuff off the racks. You can see the latest collection up close and personal.
I love to see the rotating artwork which promotes every type of artist from young up and comers to some bigger names. The parties also support this sense of community.
Employees are way nicer than some of those other streetwear shops which makes it less intimidating to walk into. May seem minor, and many of the kids in the streetwear scene are used to that, but when you have mass appeal it’s a crucial aspect to embrace.

out of all the customer service i received through all the «street wear» stores i visted in nyc (supreme, the hundreds, etc) these guys were the bomb dot com and got my business, easy. long live this store

Took a friend from out of town here. He’s a Mishka fan, so he wasn’t going to be surprised by the prices or the vibe. I definitely couldn’t afford the clothing, but I wasn’t the one doing the shopping. What did surprise me was the super friendly owners. As soon as we got buzzed in, my friend and I were able to chat it up with them, about the weather and everything else under the sun, just like we had been friends for years. Usually in shops like that, the owners/​staff are pretty pretentious and can’t be bothered by their customers. Not at Mishka, which is why I went out of my way to write this review.

The store looks like a tattoo parlor on the out and inside of the store. Its an average size just like any boutique store. its a one level. The workers there are cool. the clothing is somewhat fine with me. its to much of a devilish vibe but they do have some nice pieces that’s worth copping.

I love this store. Good music. Great clothes and tons of weird and obscure trinkets. Buy their clothes, their collaborations and even Japanese Kaiju here. Oh and a free Street Fighter arcade game! Bike rack out front and parties all the time. Great employees A+

This place creeps me out a bit, looks like some tattoo/​body piercing place. Mishka is know for that big veiny eyeball. Staff is mostly white trash but cool white trash. This store is by Bed Stuy though so be careful. Shirts are about $ 32, shorts/​jeans are $ 100. (WTF?) The store is small and on the inside it’s low lighting with brick walls with Satanic graffiti.
