I had a really bad experience this morning with Mobile. I have a knee injury and am on crutches and unfortunately can’t use the subway to get to work for the time being. When I called for a car, I told them in advance I would be paying with a card. When it came time to pay and I handed the driver my card, he told me he didn’t have a credit card swipe and couldn’t take it(exactly why I informed them in advance I would be paying with a card– to avoid this). He then(rudely) asked me to go to an ATM. Um, did you not see the crutches? I’m not hobbling to an ATM and back. I then asked if he could call in my credit card number. He made the call while cursing in Spanish(he assumed I couldn’t understand) and it took all of 30 seconds to process my card. So not sure what all the fuss/cursing was about. I stupidly asked him to break a $ 20 bill because despite all this I was still going to leave a tip. He refused to break my $ 20 and shooed me out of the car. At no point did he make any attempt to help me in or out of the car given my disability. And at no point was I rude to him– I have a lot of respect for drivers. Not sure what I did to deserve this, but it was a really bad way to start the work day and from now on I’m sticking to Über.

Very very sketchy and dangerous! I was quoted a price for a pickup and drop off at exact locations. Upon arrival the driver changed his price and refused to let me leave the car until I paid whatever he’d decided. DONOTUSEMOBIL car service. They are running a scam service and should be shut down.

I travel a lot for work and use Mobile to get to the airport 2 – 3 times a month. They have always been on time, courteous good drivers, pleasant, and their cars are clean and well kept. Fees are reasonable and I’ve never been overcharged.

We have used Mobile may times over the last year and have continually had issues, but today was the worst! We called and were told that a car would be here in 8 minutes… after 30 minutes and 10 phone calls, which told us «2 minutes» and«the car was a block away, he’ll be there in a minute», we called another car service which showed up in 5 mintues!!! I called and canceled MOBILE and they were apologetic, but come on 30 min for a car that was a block away??? As we called I watched a car that had parked up the street drive away, turned out to be there driver and he parked and NEVER came to our address or called in the 20+ minutes he was sitting parked like it was magic that we could know he was the car service. Very disappointed.

pros: *the drivers are usually courteous(especially gil — he’s the bomb). that’s why the two stars. cons: *these guys are NEVER on time. i can’t think of one time where their estimated arrival time was accurate. that’s bad when getting someone somewhere at a certain time is your bread and butter. i called a car today and was told eight minutes tops. well, it took 25, which isn’t great when you are on your way to the airport. this happens without exception, which makes me question my sanity for still calling them every time. *the prices vary. you get a quote on the phone, and the driver will try to charge you more. so be insistent and ask for a price upfront for longer drives(goes for all car services, i guess). *you are often on hold for a long time. it used to not be quite like that but has gotten bad over the last year or so. just hire one more dispatcher during peak hours! overall, i am sorry to say, but mobile finally lost me as a loyal customer.
