Brunch review:
Mediocre tilting towards awful. Had the steak and eggs (suggested by waitress) — no seasoning. Served Luke warm. Generally awful. Salad way overdressed.
Bloody Mary tastes like Mr Ts mix/​ketchup. Pretty sure they put vanilla vodka in it. Avoid.
The good: garden is pleasant.

This review is strictly on drinks and the outdoor garden area at night.
In a span of the 30 minutes I sat down, I saw 3 mouse crossing a feet away from my table. One even took a pause and stared back at me.
I am just GLAD I did not order any food here because I would vomit instantly.

Loved the dollar oyster deal! But NOT the $ 40 dollar minimum for cc’s. I’m fairly certain that is either illegal, or at least breaks the contract with their credit card companies. Ran over to their ATM on premises and paid in cash for a $ 30 order, but harrumph!

I have been debating whether to write a review of this restaurant or not.
The great location of this place and the beautiful patio give it three stars at least — what makes me sad is how this restaurant has seemed to go downhill so fast — The first time I went there I enjoyed the restaurant, the food and the staff was great — that was back in December. I have been there three other time now including today. Each time it has gotten more disappointing, from cold onion soup, to a poorly made Croque Monsieur — the last time I had the Bechamel sauce was not cooked properly and all it tasted like was flour.
Today was the last straw — I ordered a chef salad for lunch, I think we can all assume that it is rather unexpected to be served a chef salad served on a dessert plate, yes that small, sparsely covered with lettuce, 2 cubes of ham (literally) a smattering of cheese and some chicken.
All the while I was there the waitress and what appeared to be an owner or manager were discussing how poor business was at the bar and no my friend it is not the economy — it is the mediocre food that you have been putting out — if you can be full with a wait 5 months ago during a snow storm, how do you explain an empty restaurant on a nice spring day.
You have an amazing patio and are capable of very nice food — if you get back to it you will be busy! Look down the street and see many of the other restaurants on Bedford quite full at a prime time.
Your set up, location and patio deserves a 4 star+ rating and so did your food a few months ago — now it is just not right. You really should be a wonderful addition to this great neighborhood not a disappointment. I really want you to be good.

They should shorten their name to ‘Morg’ because the place was dead, like a morgue. Will never go back. Ordered a lamb burger and Mexican scrambled eggs for brunch. Burger arrived RAW. Sent back to the kitchen expecting to receive a fresh burger. The same burger on the same soggy bun arrived back on our table. The Mexican eggs are poorly described on the menu and scrambled with tortilla chips. This was a clever ruse to skimp on the eggs and basically serve a pile of soggy tortilla chips. If there is a bright side, the fries were very tasty, and the manager did the right thing by removing the burger from the bill.

Went here this past weekend for brunch. I had the eggs benedict and my boyfriend had croque madame. His was DEF better than mine, so I highly recommend orderred that dish as a brunch item. The eggs benedict were just OK, I have had better. The mimosa I ordered was quite small.def. not worth 5 $

Really good, authentic French food.
We randomly walked in and my friend made our server immediately feel cautious by saying that my brother had spent 6 months in France so he will judge if the food was good.
The food was good, tasty and affordable. Service was very good, and servers were very friendly. Our server even came back and ask if «the expert approved,» which he did.
I had the Croque Monsieur; the bread was amazingly crunchy and tasty.
I’ll definitely come back if I’m ever in Brooklyn again & I’ll also recommend it to my friends in NY/​Brooklyn.

My friends and I stopped off at Morgane for an afternoon coffee break. I almost didn’t review it because our visit was so brief, but I have a few things to say. I’ll keep it short.
On a busy street, Morgane was nearly empty. We sat on the covered back patio, and the atmosphere was quiet and pretty pleasant. Service was remarkably slow for how empty the place was, but it was friendly enough.
I had a hot chocolate, and while it was tasty, it came tepid. That’s a big no for hot chocolate on a cold day. I didn’t bother sending it back, but maybe I should have.
Not much else to say, and since I didn’t come for food, I won’t give Morgane less than three stars. I enjoyed my time on the patio, but the hot chocolate and service left me feeling unimpressed — tepid, is about the size of it.

I wanted to give Morgane 5 stars because I was shocked to see they only had three. I’ve always had a great time here. I suppose they’re more of a 4.5 stars restaurant, but I really want to get their average up.
I walk past Morgane twice a day, every day, at least and sometimes more. Morgane is a Southside staple that has maintained an appeal and a crowd as several (and I mean several) restaurants have consistently cropped up in its immediate surroundings, some for good and some for only a short bit of time. What I love Morgane for is its ability to be your perfectly executed, absolutely quaint, relaxing neighborhood French restaurant. Whether for a more special occasion, for oysters and happy hour beers, or for a relaxing stop on the way home,
Morgane is able fill all of those shoes as if they were the glass slipper. Boasting a typical brunch menu with interesting flair, such as raspberry mimosas, its seldom anywhere near empty on a Saturday or Sunday. Feeding straight into happy hour, $ 1 oysters are accompanied with what I assume to be a shallot and vinegar sauce and discounted beers, sangria and more.
If you have ever been inside Edward’s down in Tribeca, the two are quite similar in terms of the atmosphere and vibe. The garden in the back is covered yet full of light, plants and umbrellas, and at night is nicely dimmed in terms of lighting, making this a great place to relax with a friend, or take someone on a date.
As for the food, it’s great. I’d say it can be at times replicable, but still strong and a good choice of restaurant nonetheless, especially given the atmosphere and the great service, which should be noted all around. The bartenders, waitstaff, everyone is great at their job and knowledgeable in terms of menu, drinks, etc. I’ve been now a couple of times, and I’d say the French Onion soup and the Mushroom Risotto are my favorites. The mussels are also worth a try.

Super cute French café. Went here for brunch and sat right on the edge of the open doors, perfect. The waitresses were very nice and friendly. I LOVED my eggs florentine. The coffee was also delish. Would come here again. Liked the décor/​atmosphere, rustic and with large ceilings. Very outdoors-​y feel. Lovely girls place.

I came here with my best friend Anna for a fantastic birthday brunch in Williamsburg. The restaurant is a cute french café with really nice tables for 2 at the windows. The service was attentive, they asked us twice what kind of water we wanted.
The food was really delicious and fresh. I ordered the salmon eggs benedict. I had never tried salmon eggs benedict, but now im a huge fan. The salmon had no fishy taste and complimented the pouched eggs perfectly. This is a must order if you come here for brunch. My friend got the eggs florentine and seemed to enjoy her dish as well… but mine was better.
We stayed here for several hours lingering over our food and drinks… spending a long time chatting about guys and dresses. Basically, a perfect girls day. My only complaint was the bathroom was abnormally small… check it out and you will see.

A group of eight friends walk into a bar. In the corner, nursing a glass of Chianti, is Hemingway. Across the way Jean Rhys is flirting with a young playboy. It’s said that Henry James once almost kissed someone here before remembering himself and leaving in embarrassment while mopping his brow. Morgane’s is redolent of a Modernist Paris before a second great war tore Europe asunder. A time for art, and romance, and playful, conversant inebriation. When Jazz was floating across the Atlantic and Josephine Baker was the talk of the town.
This is what these friends have come for. In the shaded back garden there are red wicker chairs and small round tables ideal for clustering. The eight friends retire to the back corner and order Belgian beers and oysters. For hours the conversation flows back and forth and they laugh loudly and freely as old friends often do. The waitress is attentive and responsive. The guacamole is excellent. The beer is cold and crisp. One reveler orders a burger with gruyère and onion rings and is effusive with his praise for the excellent spin on traditional fair. The onion rings are «the best he’s ever had.»
When the group leaves, they are content and full and happy after a Saturday afternoon well spent.

Frenchie brasserie vibe. Food was ok, nothing special. I’ll come back for the dollar oyster special and nice patio in the back.

The food is pretty good. I really enjoyed my food but the service is wack. They are really slow and forget to bring the utensil necessary for your meal. They bring out your soup but forget the spoon, They bring out the apps but forget your plates forgetful group, seems to happen a lot there.
If you are for a good meal but don’t care much about service, this is your place…
Also not vegetarian friendly. They only had one entrée that was vegetarian.

After stopping by Maison Première and realizing «this isn’t happening» at 5:30, went here with another Unilocaler as I was craving some oysters. While day drinking. Make a little note of that fact, as it’s going to come up later.
Service was rather awkward, as when we first went in we wanted to sit in the garden, but the waiter at the front of the house seemed to not want us to. Then the second waiter didn’t seem to want us in the back, either. But when we got back there, it smelled like, if I’m being frank, garbage. Literally. So we went back up front and grabbed a table outside.
A dozen oysters and a couple of not-​quite-​pints of beer were ordered and all was well. But the oysters that came had been shucked poorly and a couple were hanging halfway out of the shells. Something seemed a little off, but I ate them anyway.
Remember that part earlier about the alcohol? And then the oysters? And then the part just now about the oysters seeming… off?
Yeah. That happened.

Morgane is right near my apartment, so once in a while I stop in. It is pretty expensive so I don’t go too often. The couscous is very good and the waiter was really cute. I think she was wearing creepers. She was really sweet and the service was good.
However, their oysters aren’t great at all. They have the $ 1 dollar oyster happy hour special, but it’s not worth it. The oysters are served pretty warm and the shucking isn’t good. Most of the liquor was lost and the oysters were small.
So besides being a bit expensive and serving not-​so-​great oysters, they’re not a bad place.

Went to Morgane because we wanted to try Maasten Lake but it was closed – we were sadly disappointed. We were totally uninspired by the menu and probably would have left, but we’d already ordered wine and we were hungry. We ended up splitting the Brandade de Morue (salt cod appetizer) which was very bland and basically just tasted like an $ 11 portion of mashed potatoes. We also split the Merguez Cous Cous which was under seasoned, quite bland, and remained so after a healthy dose of salt.
I’m guessing this place won’t be around for long, as it doesn’t add much to the neighborhood. It’s also quite expensive for bistro food.

Came for an early morning breakfast one sunday morning before I had to rush off to work … managed to squeeze in a delicious Moroccan breakfast creation (the tomatoes had this tasty bbq flavour & the eggs were not too dry) & try some of their pastries … all fantastic!
Service was excellent & not intrusive & all of our refill drinks were topped up regularly. Tables were a bit small for my liking & felt a little cramped but everything else felt perfect.
We wanted to order mimosas but were told no booze before 12pm … I’d never heard of this before, but apparently it’s a legit NY state law it’s just that most places don’t follow with it … but these guys do. Not sure if that will go down so well with Williamsburg locals but time will tell.

Went on a Thursday and was quite shocked that it wasn’t brimming with a loud consortium of quasi-​hipsters, debutantes and frats alike.
The food, for lack of a better term, is delicious. As with most french cuisine, the chef seems to shy away from anything too healthy for you making the dishes rich and flavorful. The appetizers could easily be entrées as the portion sizes here are generous.
The staff really ties the room together. The comme il faut personnel is a healthy mix of trendy locals who aren’t in your face, but attentive at times needed.
The outdoor space is large but the tacky Ikea-​esque furniture really brings the whole atmosphere down a notch. A blend of biergarten meets bistro may be a nice change.
