Very cheap and delicious! My friend and I were in the area and were looking for a light snack when we stumbled upon this place! We went in right at 2pm, which is when they open, and we felt like such losers since this place is mainly for late night snacking but whatever. The lights were dim and tables/chairs are wooden but clean. The server doesn’t speak Cantonese but does understand English. Out of all the skewers that we ordered, my favorite was the Bacon asparagus! Fried tofu was great as well and had a nice marinade to it. Chicken, lamb, and fish balls were good and had a great flavor to them. Beef was only alright since it was a little dry. For the 6 skewers, we ended up only paying $ 5 each… WHAT? It is highly likely that I will be back lol…

Ordered one of those hot and spicy noodle soup, there were only few tiny pieces of meat, two pieces of vegetables and bunch noodles. One of the worse place for noodle. Ingredients are not very fresh, so be careful about having diarrhea after you try.

Friend brought me here to try their delicious Kebobs or skewers. We ordered chicken wings, mackerel, chives, bokchoy and mushrooms. It took a while to get to us but omg everything smells so good! I had the bokchoy and mushrooms and it was well seasoned. The mushrooms was sweet and juicy. The flavoring is just awesome. Will come back to try their other items. Tip: The place is small.

I came here with friends several times in the past and each and every time we left, we left satisfied and full. This place is famous for its meat skewers and Chinese delicacies offered at a reasonable price. The menu has a wide variety of meats priced at no more than about 3 dollar each. My friends and I would go down the menu and try to order everything to fee satisfy and just to get a taste of everything they offer. My personal favorites are the chicken, beef, lamb, cauliflower, mushrooms, chicken wing and fish tofu. The list can go on. You also have the option of making your order spicy as the server would sprinkle cumin powder on top of your skewer. The ambiance and vibe here are amazing. It’s a relatively small venue but you can sit and chill here with your friends for as long as you want. There are also many drink options in the fridge. My personal favorites are the traditional Chinese herbal and milk teas. Also, they’re famous for their«ice rice.» Overall, I’m always satisfied with my experiences here and I’ll definitely be back if I’m in the area and looking for a quick and inexpensive bite to eat.

Mister Q is known to be one of the first skewer chain store their have a store with seats instead of a street cart. They are open until 2 am in the morning. There is a few wooden benches for seating inside. One bathroom shall and acceptable to use, not the cleanest of course. I normally come here for a late midnight snack with my sisters. The skewer is approximately $.25 cheaper than Simon BBQ across the street. The skewer are made relatively quickly. You can choose from have them sprinkle spice onto the skewers or you can do it on your own. I always get the chicken, beef, and squid. They also have soup noodle but I have not yet try. The only problem I have sometimes is I notice one of the waitress glares at me and my sisters every time we come here but this will not stop us from coming back since food is pretty good and its convenient.

BBQ side of has definetly gone down hill. Not what it once use to be. Poorly prepped meats(meaning not enough marinating), poor service and now over priced. I guess this is what happens when over expansion occurs and is operated by a young staff without experience

i was the only one ordering takeout but somehow customers who came after me got all of their orders before me? What? I thought first in to order would be first to be out. I guess not. I had 5 sticks of spicy fish tofu cakes. It wasn’t spicy as promised and it was very overcooked to the point where it lost its bounciness. The atmosphere was very dim so it was hard to see and ventilation was poor. Their food is similar to how many street vendors sell food on a stick. On average you can get a stick ranging anywhere from as low as a $ 1 to as high as 2 – 3 $ depending on what you order. My fishcakes were 1.25 $ each with 3 cakes on each stick. I would not come back for that price again since I can get this anywhere else for cheaper and for a better flavor. I only came here because i liked their spicy seasoning in the past. BTWCASHONLY. They will shame you if you hand them a card

I came here a few times and I felt the same everytime. Overall the food is pretty good but for the bacon mushrooms they were pretty cheap on that, barely filles half of the stick. Some foods may not sound good but I like the cauliflower, mentioned before the bacon mushroom(esp for the fact its a small portion) um the POPULAR chives, fish balls and some worthy getting are the meats beef and chicken wing. The fries are pretty good too.(Dont fall for ifried chicken, its like legit nuggets) They have a fridge for any drinks you would like. Also the place is really small but its not so bad. Only reason it lost one star is because of the service. They don’t speak English ughhh and she always messes up my order. Also, they aren’t really friendly, dont even greet you and just give you the menu and takes ur order. I kind of understand since they don’t get tips. Only benefit I don’t have to give tips!

Going to Mr. Q’s was an adventure. The menus were about 90% Chinese(thank you rudimentary Chinese skills for helping me decipher the menu), and the waitresses spoke mostly Chinese(pointing solved the problem). We got two noodle soups — one with beef strips and one with beef chunks(the difference is thickness and texture/cut of beef) as well as steak, pork, gizzards, fish balls, and sausage — all on skewers with medium/hot sauce. Overall, it was really tasty along with some Wang Lao Ji tea. The décor was really dim — reminded me of a true hole-in-the-wall place — with picnic tables/benches and a flat-screen/speaker system blaring M-pop. I wouldn’t mind going back there again.

The menus are in Chinese and the waitresses don’t speak English. Expected on 8th avenue, just giving you Unilocal heads a fair warning. There are about 6 tables in the restaurant so it gets packed quick. The noodle menu is simple– pick a protein: shrimp/lamb/beef/beef stew(awesome)/seafood, pick a noodle: egg noodle, rice stick, san dong noodle(thick vermicelli), spicy?(yes). done. Skewers you can have a bit more fun. They’re about the same price as the street vendors on the corner but with a lot more meat and a lot less char. Chicken wing is popular, so is the beef and lamb. I also ordered the fish balls which were a little rubbery for my taste. I saw a lot of the locals order the ice rice which looked more like a dessert than anything– maybe I’ll try that next time. I’ll definitely come again– my 3 skewers and bowl of noodles came out to only $ 10… and that includes tip!

Delicious, cheap, and open late. What more can you want? I’ve only been here after midnight and the food is constantly superb. They are open late and there’s only one waitress by then, but they still have good attitudes and the food comes quickly. The skewers are freshly made and cheap! They are all around $ 1.25 each and there is so many to choose from. It’s indoors so its a good late night getaway whatever season it is. It’s big enough to fit a few tables and they have a bathroom as well. They have a fridge with bottled drinks that you can choose from. I like the bottled milk tea they have, even though its basically sugar and water. I can’t tell you about the crowds since I’ve only been here at night. But for the type of restaurant it is, it really is as good as it gets.

skewers + noodles + ice rice = awesome!!! my fave skewers = beef, chicken, fish tofu fave noodles = seafood ramen with a little bit spicy ice rice = chewy rice + sweetened water + ice + penauts + jelly pieces + white fungus + watermelon … smells like bubblegum and it’s definitely an acquired taste … definitely worth trying 2 times to see if you like it Better seating than mr. grills(on 55th) free wifi note — can get packed during busy times and there is usually one waitress working … and they open late which is a plus! … and remember cash only !!! also, the entrance is btwn 7th and 8th ave on 53rd st(closer to 8th)
