While calling all the Brooklyn-​based therapists in the United Healthcare directory in an effort to find a psychologist for my precocious 12-​year-​old daughter to talk to, I got a recommendation for Dr. Garcia-​Ruffin.
Initially, she was reluctant because she generally only treats teens and adults, but after I explained the situation and described my daughter, she agreed to give it a try.
Although the discussions between my daughter and Dr. Garcia-​Ruffin are private, the things my daughter has shared with me seemed reasonable and sensible, and Dr. Garcia-​Ruffin seems to have set her mind at ease a bit.
I heartily recommend Dr. Garcia-​Ruffin for adolescents and mature kids, and I am sure that she would be equally effective with adults.
