Definitely a honest auto repair place. I came to get my transmission, brakes and water pump fixed. Excellent service. Fast and reliable. I never knew Angels were mechanics.

Went here to get a standard annual NY inspection, which we passed. But then the next time I turned on the heat while driving, there was a strong smell of oil/​gas, very scary. To get an objective opinion, I took it to another garage to check out. They found that the cap had been taken off of our oil filter and oil was spilling all over the place under the hood. Yikes! Don’t think I’ll be going back to Nok again.

Rohan moved recently, I was in there to get my NY State inspection done again today. Fantastic experience — quick. clean, and reliable. Still nothing but positive things to say!

The shop has decided to respond to this review saying that I am a fake sent by their competition. I have the receipt from the work they did (and in this case didn’t do). They can call the review invalid all they want, but the simple fact is that I went to them for a simple task and they screwed it up. Instead of owning up to the error and apologizing, they have decided to call me a fake.

I needed to get my New York State inspection in a hurry and NOk Auto Repairs was able to do it. Rohon, the owner, was very courteous and kind. He’s extremely personable and taught me a few things I didn’t know about, given that I am a brand new driver. Highly recommended, fast service, and overall, just great. I think I found myself a new mechanic! Thanks Rohon!

Fast and friendly service. Plugged the punctured tire of my Subaru cross trek in 15 minutes for $ 10. Will definitely be back!

First I have to say that I have used NOK for almost 10 years on and off and that this is not the first bad experience I have had but I can honestly state it will be the last.
First of all if you go there be prepared for a blank stare and chin nod as a greeting from the counter girl, but the lack of courteousness is not my issue with them that was only the beginning.
I took my 2000 Jeep Cherokee in for work to be done on the cooling system including changing the water pump, thermostat and front engine seal – all work being done in the front of the engine. Within the billing received it shows the replacement of the upper and lower radiator hoses which if you are working in that area, sure it makes sense to change them (mind you there was no signs of hose leakage) anyway that would have been a good thing HOWEVER billing goes on to list the prices of the hoses (double the standard price by the way) and tacks on 2 hours of labor to change 2 hoses! Total Labor rate 7 Hours!
Bringing this to the attention of the owner Rohan I get the excuse (double talk) that they use a Motor All Data Manual to determine labor rates. I further state that there is no way you should charge an additional 2 hours to replace hoses when the hoses your replacing are right in the same area your currently working. Those data manuals he uses are probably what a dealer would charge aka TOP DOLLAR for repairs. Hell if I wanted to pay dealer rates I would go to a dealer not a so called neighbor shop.
Bottom line make sure you watch the exaggerated Labor rates and parts prices. Also got charged $ 36.00 for a gallon of antifreeze… Seriously?

Its tough to find honest mechanics anywhere, but these guys fit the bill. Friendly, knowledgeable and fair staff. Rohon gave me an assessment of the problems with my car and everything I absolutely needed to fixed. They did an awesome job making my car run smooth again. Will be coming back #Highly Recommend!

Always a little weird when a business has this many five star reviews AND one star reviews. Wish I had only paid attention to the one star reviews.
Took my car in to get a new tire put on after I had gotten a flat. I showed Rohan a pic of the tire that I needed so he could see the exact specifications. He says great — they have that tire and could put it on right away! It would be 40 minutes or less. Over an hour and no call later, I walk back over. Nothing has been done except that the car has been brought in and I think put up on the lift. Then he tells me that they actually don’t have the tire, but «in his head» he thought they did! You’ve gotta be kidding me. Wouldn’t you make a point of double-​checking this before you take up my time and waste your mechanics’ time and get the car all ready to be worked on? It was such an amateur mistake I couldn’t even believe it.
I asked him why he hadn’t even gotten to the car until now and immediately the huge smile left his face and he said they had gotten backed up. Either this guy is your best friend or ready to feed you explanations. He said he would take me over to a nearby used tire place to try to find a tire for me. I didn’t want to waste any more time on this so I drove him over to a nearby tire lot, they didn’t have it, we went another block, they had what I needed, and Rohan left.
I appreciate the fact that he wanted to make sure I got what I needed, but as many other reviewers have said, he created the problem in the first place. There’s no «deal» involved when you’ve already had all this time wasted after a bush league mistake. Not to mention the fact that while I was in the waiting room, two mechanics and the receptionist argued over a car key that no one could find for a car they were just working on. Um… that gives me confidence. If you want to fall for this guy’s act of being your neighborhood bestie, go ahead. But there’s nothing professional about this place.

Rohan the owner is one of the most pleasant business owner I have ever met. Went to a state inspection and found a screw stuck in my tire. He took out the tire at no charge. Also check my battery for me. Definitely gonna be coming back for future car repairs

What a nice shop! Came in for an inspection and they helped me with a few other issues. The VW logo on the grill had fallen off and they had a spare and gave it to me for free. I’ll be back!

They were fast and didn’t try to sell any unnecessary repairs. Did the inspection, oil change and a few little things in under an hour.

New to this business and have to say I was very pleased with the experience. I found the Nok to provide me with quick, honest, courteous service. I am happy to have found a shop I trust in my neighborhood.

BUYER BEWARE: STAY AWAY.
THE FACTS:
I trusted this shop to do the right thing.
They had one job to do in checking my used car over and they failed.
This resulted in my life being put in danger as I then drove a car with a completely rust rotted frame, beyond repair on a road trip only to be stranded halfway.
Not only did Nok completely overlook the obvious frame rot and broken frame, but they took hundreds of dollars of my money on other unrelated repairs and wanted more.
To add insult to injury, when I came back to town with no more car, not only did they not agree to work with me on this, but I was met with ugly language and aggressive, unprofessional behavior. I offered three reasonable options to meet me half way and the owner of Nok cursed me out and hung up on me twice.
I highly discourage doing business with Nok Auto. In today’s business climate, customer’s should never have to put up with this kind of treatment. Many more people will hear about this and it’s unfortunate because negative reviews are more costly than doing the right thing in the first place.

I just called to ask how much a engine flush was, the woman on the phone said I don’t know and said she would have to check. I say ok, and she hangs up the phone… yea so I guess I won’t be coming here to service my car

Got a flat tire and had to look up at flat fix place at 6:30 in the morning. Luckily I found NOK and not only were they open early but they looked at my tire took care of the issue and didn’t charge me a dime. Very trustworthy and honorable guys at NOK auto repair. Will recommend and spread the word about their service

Called to ask what brand of synthetic oil is offered. Owner came to the phone and I quote «I refuse to answer your question of what brand of oil we use for synthetic oil changes».
There is absolutely no excuse for this kind of business practices. I have also contacted the BBB.

I have used Nok to do my insurance and State inspections. Rohon, the owner was always accommodating and extremely kind and responsive to all my needs. He is extremely kind and customer oriented. I had a feeling when I met him that I’ve known him for a really long time, and that’s the way he treats all his customers — as a trusted friend. I didn’t know anything about cars and he put all my worries at ease.
I will go to Nok for all my car repair needs. This biz is a great presence in the Prospect Heights /​Crown Heights neighborhood and I have no doubt it will be very successful.
