North Brooklyn Dental Care

I live in the city and decided to travel to Dr. Stimmler’s office because of a friend’s recommendation, and can honestly say he makes the experience enjoyable and painless. Not only is he an extremely knowledgeable, highly-​trained dentist, but is passionate about his work. MOST IMPORTANTLY: my cleaning was the most gentle and thorough cleaning I’ve had in years. Plus they took me right away even though I was a few minutes early. I will absolutely be coming back to see him soon.

Dr. Stimmler is an excellent dentist, he is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. He is one of the few dentists I have seen who has a true passion for his craft. The steps he takes to further his knowledge and skills is admirable and his office sports top of the line, cutting edge technology. Most importantly, every visit has been pleasant and painless, and I can tell he truly cares about my health and well-​being. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

I have been going to Dr. Stimmler for over a year now. I have had 7 other dentist through out the years not including the ones in my youth; because which kid likes his dentist. Unless I move away, North Brooklyn Dental will be the only place I’ll be going to. I have had several dental procedures including: fillings, root canals, had my wisdom teeth pulled and also had my teeth whiten.
Each visit Dr. Stimmler was very cordial, polite and his Dental knowledge put me at ease.^Even though he is a german and I am a Jew and history shows I shouldn’t trust those bastards. I did and so far he didn’t make me take a ride in a train.^
The only thing I’d say is I don’t think they need the waiting room. For the first time in my life I did not have to wait for my appointment. The time I was scheduled for is the time I got to go in. Great place!

Great service by Dr Stimmler, very nice & friendly staff. His team is very accommodating & he is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Dr. Stimmler is awesome and makes going to the dentist an actual enjoyable experience. He is always friendly, and gives guidance without being overbearing as many of my past dentists have been. I never have to wait around for my appointment, and his office has also been flexible and understanding when I’m a few minutes late. Would highly recommend him! 5 STARS!

Dr. Stimmler is great! He’s passionate and knowledgable about his work and has a wonderful bedside manner. He is open and honest about the treatments he feels you need (or that you might not need!) and will take the time to answer any questions you may have.
Everyone at the office is friendly and accommodating, and seem to be on top of all of the ins and outs of dental insurance. I highly recommend North Brooklyn Dental and have sent a couple of friends this way recently.

My mother had a dental emergency and Dr. Stimmler’s office was able to help her out right away. She had such a pleasant experience that he became my dentist as well. Routine cleanings are very gentle and Dr. Stimmler has proven to be very knowledgable and willing to help.

First off, Dr. Stimmler is an impressionable and nice guy, hence the 2 stars instead of 1.
I went here for a routine dental cleaning on 9÷8÷2015. Dr. Stimmler was congenial, knowledgeable and polite. He explained everything he was doing and thoroughly answered all of my questions. At the end of the checkup, Heather was very helpful in scheduling another appointment for 9÷10÷2015 to fill in 4 cavities (I really appreciated that). That night, after I had my cavities filled, 1 tooth on the top slightly chipped while I was flossing. Another tooth on the bottom was extremely sensitive and every time that I flossed, it would be painfully sensitive.
A week or so later, Yalle, the new admin, called and said that Heather incorrectly input my insurance info so my balance is $ 3,000 or so for the routine cleaning + 4 cavities (ridiculous!). I told her that I had painful sensitivity on a tooth that the Doctor worked on but I no longer had insurance. I asked if she could help me make an appointment to meet with him again so that he can take a look at it (I assumed it would be no charge since he may have botched the procedure) and she said that since I am no longer covered by insurance, I would have to pay out of pocket. I told her forget it then; I already paid a $ 150 copay and I know that I will have a remaining balance after insurance. She called back a week later, giving me an update on the balance that I owe and that she’s still waiting for the insurance to cut a check. I told her that my tooth is still sensitive and it’s not right for me to pay for another visit when Dr. Stimmler clearly did something wrong. She hung up on me. I called about 3 weeks ago to get an update on an invoice so that I never have to have anything to do with them again. She said that the cleaning procedure on my first visit may not be covered by insurance and that I still owe up to $ 700 for the fillings but she isn’t sure yet because my insurance has not yet posted. I realized that every time that I ask her questions, Yalle does not really listen to your concerns or questions and like a broken record, repeats herself on what she thinks you’re asking.
Back in November, I decided to visit my childhood dentist for the sensitivity. He took X-​ray scans and found that I had noticeable decay in ¾ fillings that was done. One tooth was decayed almost up to the nerve so he had to immediately redo the filling. Paid out of pocket for that. I will have to redo the other 2 fillings within the next few months because Dr. Stimmler didn’t seem to do such a good job. I now have sensitivity in 2 of my teeth because 1. in the filling that had to be redone, the dentist had to drill very close to the nerve to remove all decay (something Dr. Stimmler failed to do) and 2. the bottom tooth still suffers the same sensitivity ever since September.
There has been no resolve and I have not tried to contact North Brooklyn Dental because of the poor customer service and I’m just not interested in emptying my bank account to them. I just want to receive my invoice, reluctantly pay it, and spread the word on what a great dental office this is!

Dr. Stimmler and Heather are an awesome team who go out of their way to make sure their patients are comfortable and well taken care of. Both of them take the time to explain each step of any process to you, and make sure you have all the relevant info to make the best decisions about your own care. Heather is a dream at dealing with insurance companies, and Dr. Stimmler is kind, funny, and really really cares about his work. I will never take my mouth anywhere else!

I’ve known Dr. Stimmler for a very long time and without any reservation, I trust only him to work in my mouth.
I’ve trained with him and known him long enough to agree with the other reviews. I know his training has been vigorous and his continued commitment is really inspiring. He’s professional, which I find the most important quality in a provider. People can disagree on all sorts of personal manners but not on science and fact. He politely tells me when I’m wrong and courageously tells me when I can do better.
He is charming guy but yet he is serious and passionate about his work. Any provider can restore function, but Dr. Stimmler incorporates esthetics and detail into all of his procedures. For that, I can understand why patients love him. And ultimately, Dr. Stimmler is down to earth and as everyone that has met him will tell you, it’s effortless to have a conversation with him.

This is one of those places you almost selfishly don’t want to rate for fear they’re going to blow-​up and become super popular.
Putting my reservations aside, I have to admit this is an amazing dental office. The staff is very welcoming, friendly, and knowledgable. Plus, they take all types of insurance. and I bet they’d be willing to barter.

SUPER AMAZING, HIGHLY TRAINED dentist! You have no idea how lucky I am to have found this guy! I was looking for a dentist with biomimetic training so I kind of had an idea he was going to be good but I didn’t know that he is maybe the best dentist in New York City! I have to say he goes WAY above and beyond. I grind my teeth terribly and my crowns always turn into hideous messes. My crowned tooth was bothering me and I was ready to just have it pulled and get an implant but he convinced me to try and save the tooth. He took a LOT of time (over 3 visits) to make sure it was THOROUGHLY cleaned and sterilized with a series of topical antibiotic treatments. It was a mess in there with a screw embedded in one of my roots plus cement and calcification. There was even a nasty piece of file broken off in the bottom of my tooth from my first root canal and somehow he was able to dig THAT out! He put a solid state crown on it that looks and feels beautiful. I won’t be able to grind this one to shreds! I’m SO happy! The office is state-​of-​the-​art but not ostentatious. Heather, the receptionist, is a sweetheart and Dr. Stimmler is a true professional in the ethical sense of the word. THANK GOD there are still dentists like him around. You can’t go wrong here.

I had my first appointment today, and I had such a good experience that I had to write a review. I haven’t been to the dentist in two years, and was very nervous and apprehensive about going, especially as I tried to go two weeks ago to a different dentist, who told me I had 10 cavities and wanted to charge me $ 750 to fill them, as well as telling me I needed a $ 1,200 treatment on my gums. This sounded very shady and did not seem right to me, even after two years of not visiting a dentist. So, my search for a new dentist began.
I stumbled upon North Brooklyn Dental Care and e-​mailed Heather, the wonderful receptionist, for some quotes on work. She was so, so helpful with everything — she called my insurance, found out what was/wasn’t covered, and sent me quotes for fillings and for a deep cleaning. I decided to forge ahead and make the appointment.
My appointment was for 9A, and when I walked in, they took care of me right away. I filled in a new patient form/​information form (done on a computer, which was quite nice as it was quick and efficient) and was taken to the back right away. Dr. Stimmler was great — he is very nice and very funny; anxious as I was, he made me feel very comfortable and kept the mood very light, which eased my nerves a little bit. They have a TV playing Pandora in the exam room and allow you to pick whatever station you want.
Heather takes the X-​rays and then Dr. Stimmler comes in and looks at them and — better yet — actually explains them to you. He goes slide by slide and shows you what’s going on in your teeth, points out where the cavities are, and which ones need to be filled and which are small and can be managed in the next few months to keep them the same size or, hopefully, to get them smaller. He ever drew pictures to explain certain things to me and help me visualize what he was saying better.
He also performs the cleanings himself and I must say, this was the most painless cleaning I have ever had in all my life of dentist going. I usually cry and am in such pain when the hygienist does the cleanings, not to mention my mouth bleeds enough to look like a murder scene. This time, however, I didn’t feel any pain or discomfort at all during the cleaning, and was even given options for flavors for the teeth polishing portion of the cleaning.
I have to go back next week for a deep cleaning and some fillings (of which I did not have ten, thank you very much!), and for once in my life, I am not nervous or scared about having to go to the dentist. I have definitely found my new primary care dentist, and I actually, for once, plan to keep up with the six month visits.

The office is new, clean and comfortable with tv and a coffee maker. Always taken exactly at the time of my appointment. After so many different dentists I’ve gone to, I’ve finally found the perfect one! Very professional with the most modern dental equipment on the market. The receptionist as well as dr stimmler are friendly, knowledgeable and assisting me in every aspect of my dental health. I’m so lucky he accepts my insurance!

Five star service. Dr. Stimmler is a true professional with vast knowledge of the mouth and body health connection.
Heather at the front desk is polite, helpful and courteous. And Dr. Stimmler will make you feel comfortable, at home and will provide you with step by step knowledge of procedures and is open to any and all questions.
I was surprised not only of his communication, but the true caring and concern he had for my oral and overall health.
And just when you think things are great, he plays your favorite type of music, and offers quite a few choices of flavoured gum numbing agents. And the end result of the work. Nothing short of perfect. Highly recommended!

After almost being really ripped off by a «dental spa» on Wall Street I really lucked out and found Dr. Stimmler, a fellow Californian who I knew I could trust right off the bat. He’s very personable, friendly and probably best of all, really geeks out over his craft. While he was working on my teeth he would always be showing me newer technology that he was using that was superior to older style of dentistry would help out my issues in the long run.
While I know nothing about dentistry other than I needed a root canal and a crown, he said «yes, you do need those» and was alway very clear and up front with how much work it would be and what it would cost. It cost a fifth of what I was quoted at the ripoff place that I’m currently about to trash on Unilocal,but I might not because right now I’m just too happy with my total experience here — and my new crown!
I have been telling anyone who will listen to go to North Brooklyn Dental Care, Dr. Stimmler is truly a master of his craft and you should really go to him if you need any kind of work done, you will not be disappointed.
