We were charged $ 60 for soft paws for our cat (front and back paws) and they fell off in one week. When I called onelove to tell them what happened they said it happens sometime and weren’t able to help. This place will just make you spend unnecessary money, you think it’s for your pet’s best interest but everything they do is just for their bank account’s best interest! Every Time I went there for my cat’s vaccine they will charge me double and when I ask why they tell me that they also gave him another vaccine without even asking me or letting me know. Then I was going to neuter him and I had to take him for blood tests first which costed me almost 250, now that I wanted to schedule his neutering they told me that the blood test is no longer valid and I have to take another one which no one ever told me it had a time limit or I wouldn’t have spent 250 for nothing. I’m never going back there, I’ll find another honest place to take my cat to.

Kindness, compassion and caring in spades. Dr. D’Onofrio and the entire staff have a genuine love for our four legged best friends. Came through loud and clear from the moment you walk through their door.

I brought my cat to One Love after he had a complication from a vaccination given by a different vet (I’d thought a different Bay Ridge housecall vet practice would be the best thing for my cat, but the care was very outdated and I learned my lesson!)
Dr. D’Onofrio was able to see my little guy without much of a wait, and she was exactly what I want in a vet: knowledgeable and thorough and complimentary about my cat’s cuteness. After a careful exam, she had all preventative costs printed out for my approval before moving forward. I didn’t have any pressure about upselling or surprise costs. I also got my cat’s test results the next day. This whole office seems to be really caring — the reception staff went through my cat’s records and immediately called his old vet for previous charts.
Overall, I’d say One Love costs about $ 10 – 20 more per item (exam, bloodwork, etc.) than I’ve paid before but I’m willing to pay a little more to not get outdated medical advice/​care again. It is a bummer not to have a gratis nail trim thrown in with each visit, but mostly because it’s a PIA to do at home.

Dr. D’onofrio was amazing. Very informative and helpful with my dogs health concerns. She referred me to CVS for over the counter remedies that will cure my dogs issues without charging me an insane amount of money by getting it through her. As a dog lover I’m sure you understand the importance of a good vet– I highly recommend her!

WARNING. Never ever go to this place in Bay Ridge. They are money grubbing and Inhumane. The worst staff imaginable. I walked in the place on time for my appointment and fell just before. I had a bleeding gaping wound in my leg and they wouldn’t even give me a paper towel. Until I finally screamed at them. I needed to get to treat n release down the block. They were trying to get me to take my cat… even after I told them my friend was coming. I left him there and went to treat n release. They said the wound was too deep n needed to go to ER… so 20 min later I’m back at One Love n now they want to charge me 150.00 because according to them by me leaving I didn’t show up… so I agreed because my cat was sick… now after waiting for quite awhile they see my cat and are trying to get me to take X-​rays and blood tests. New amt over $ 800. I said I have to get to a hospital and no I can’t do that… just give him antibiotics for respiratory infection. Never once asking if I was ok. Just trying to get money out of me… terrible people. Imagine how they treat our pets. So I finally leave to go to the hospital and the unprofessional receptionist tells me to go after taking my credit card while I was in treat n release. But not good enough. I get a nasty call while in ER I left without paying my bill… are they kidding me! People be very aware they want YOUR money at any cost.

My husband and I are dog rescuers, fosters, and lovers! I bought all my pets to One Love Animal Hospital and am thankful one opened near my neighborhood. Now I don’t have to travel all the way to Atlantic Ave!
My dogs are always seen by Dr. Laura D’Onofrio. I do not go to any other vet because of the great job that she does when handling my dogs. One of my pups, Princess, was a rescue and we saved her from death row at the age of 9 because she was deemed «unadoptable and hazardous.» Unadoptable because she was a senior, unspayed, and with a small mammary tumor. Princess does have an issue with strangers because she suffered abuse from her previous owners but she is a sweet and gentle soul once we got to know each other. Dr. D’Onofrio professionally approached her even when Princess was snarling at her and managed to earn the respect of Princess in mere seconds which was a rare sight to see. My husband and I always leave this place feeling like we matter. We did not feel rushed, judged, or helpless because the people here offer great support.
On July 24, 2015, we sadly said goodbye to our 13 year old beautiful Princess due to another mammary tumor (we removed the previous one when we got her). We knew Princess would not be able to survive another surgery and talked with Dr. D’ Onofrio previously about what steps to take next. Although we fostered dogs and always managed to say goodbye to them even when we form attachments, the death of Princess meant we were no longer able to see, hold, and play with her again. This was also the first time a dog of ours will be going to the «Rainbow Bridge.» On that day, we booked the last appointment so we can have the time to ourselves when saying goodbye. The staff there empathized with what we were going through. They offered water, tissue, and best of all gave us time! There was no rush as we said good bye to Princess We were probably in the room for 30+mins. We decided to cremate our baby girl and she will be with us very soon. I loved the way Dr. D’Onofrio carried Princess away as if she was still living and still fragile. She covered her up in a towel very carefully and held her to her chest the way we always held Princess. It was very thoughtful. When signing the bill for the costs (with teary swollen eyes), I noticed that One Love Animal Hospital waived the service fees and only charged me the fees for the cremation and shots. They even offered to pay for one of the keepsakes from Abbey Glen, the crematory they use. My husband and I were truly touched.
With this kind of service and the commitment to help animals (AND their owners), I will definitely be going back there. One Love Animal Hospital is a bit more costly than the other places in Bay Ridge but I find this place to be more «human.» No pushes for paying bills, offers payment plans (not Care Credit, just their own words), warm, compassionate, and professional. They are highly recommended.

I’ve been here 3 times and I’ve been very happy with it. The vets are knowledgeable, helpful, kind. They do not rush me. I know veterinary care is extremely expensive, and have had several bad experiences in the past. I feel that one love is very reasonable in price, and better quality to other vets, especially in bay ridge.

I want the best for my Cat and these guys deliver.
They are just so nice, and follow up with calls, and always have good advice. I never feel like I’m being upsold and I feel like these guys share a concern for the well being of my animal. Dr. Laura D’Onofrio is the best and is very sweet, caring and knowledgeable. If I ever left Bay Ridge, I’d most likely come back here for my Pet’s care. They’re that good.

I have to say that I really wanted to like this practice. It’s very convenient to where we live, it’s clean, and the people are very kind and knowledgeable. My cat has been excessively vomiting for the past few days, so I brought her in for an exam. I admit that her vomiting was extreme, but I just spent $ 1,190.44 on testing to find out that nothing is wrong with her and the vomiting is passing on its own. I’ve expressed to the doctors many times that I can’t afford anything unnecessary, but obviously since I love my cat I’ll do whatever I can to find out what is wrong. I just wish that they had been more conservative with their guidance and saved me over a thousand dollars. I’m a student and am already wrecked with debt. I’m glad my cat is okay, but I think I need to find a doctor that doesn’t jump to the worst case scenarios right off the bat, costing me an arm and a leg. Not cool.

Dr. D’Onofrio & Dr. Tsang are great veterinarians and I feel confident my beagles get the best care each time they go to One Love Animal Hospital. Gizmo & Gadget are happy patients of One Love. All the staff are always respectful and helpful. Never had a bad experience. I definitely recommend One Love to all pet owners.

Looking for a new vet after a huge fallout with my previous, I decided to take my dogs to One Love Animal Hospital. First impressions of the office is: Spacious. I noticed that they were super friendly and animal lovers. Jen, at the front desk, is super cool and super sweet. She called to retrieve my dogs’ medical records for me. Dr. D’Onofrio was very sweet and great with our dogs. The first experience was a great one. Hopefully more to come.

I began taking my cat Brownie to One Love Animal Hospital in 2013. In early 2014 Dr. Donofrio put her on liquid Prednisone for her IBD and digestive problems. She went from skinny and sickly to a fairly normal and functional cat. Since then I have had Brownie on Prednisone on a regular basis (1 dose every 48 hours). For the entire time that she has had this prescription, I was paying $ 35 per prescription… until June 21, 2015.
I had called in the prescription and when I went to pick it up, instead of the usual $ 35 that I pay each time, I was charged $ 77.00. This just didn’t sound right to me. I asked the receptionist about it and she called the doctor on call. He told me he had no control over the pricing because his «boss» raised all the prices. I asked why… his explanation was that One Love Animal Hospital opened a location in Yorkville on the Upper East Side, so the Owner (his «boss») decided to raise all the prices.
I said, «This isn’t the Upper East Side.» … he just gave me a shamed look and said he couldn’t do anything but write my complaint down to give to his boss.
I told him, «You people keep sending me emails asking me to write you a nice review, this isn’t going to help.» … same shamed look and response.
I told him that this was just a bad business practice and that I would not bring my cat there again.
TL;DR: One Love Animal Hospital DOUBLED their medication prices without any warning or notice… just because their owner decided to open a new location on the UES.

Love this vet. Dr. D’Onofrio & the staff have always been very friendly and helpful. The main reason I am giving 4 stars is because it is super pricy. For example, they charge $ 95 for a heart worm test, while other vets charge between $ 39-​$ 70 (I called around and yes, it is the same test.) That having been said, I will more than likely be staying with One Love due to their care, knowledge, attention to detail, and bedside manners. Just be aware that you can rack up a $ 400 vet fee. Also, if you can, buy any medication, such as Heartgard or Nexgard, online.

I brought my dog here September of 2015 because she was having a issue with her eye. The Vet said she thought my dog had ectopic eyelashes (meaning her eyelashes were growing out of place and irritating her eye). The Vet recommended surgery and asked me to come in 2 weeks later for a recheck. I came in 2 weeks later and saw a different vet who agreed with the ectopic diagnosis but because my dog is only 4 pounds and just over a year old he did not recommend surgery. I was not charged a recheck fee at this visit.
I decided to take my dog to a vet who specializes in the eyes. Turns out my dog does not have ectopic — she was born with no tear gland and has chronic dry eye. Imaging if I would have scheduled unneccesary surgery!!!
I should have known from this NOT to go back. My dog was due for her Rabies shot — I called their office and was told by Jennifer that I would not have to pay for a exam because my dog was just there 3 months ago and had an exam. During my visit the Vet recommended she get her nails cut which I declined because her nails were cut the day before! He also recommended everything else under the sun including heart worm testing, heart worm preventative, flea and tick preventative, and the distemper vaccine. Mind you, my dog is 4 pounds and is a INDOOR dog.
Upon checking out with Laurie I was told there would be a $ 70 exam fee! I explained to her that Jennifer told me I would not have to pay for an exam since my dog just had one 3 months ago. Laurie disappeared in the back room and came back to let me know that «Normally they dont do this but they would only charge me ½ ($ 35) for the exam). I explained that I was not happy that I should not have to pay, especially when their representative told me I wouldn’t be charged but alas, I bit the bullet and paid the $ 35.
During my visit the Vet told me that if I decided to get my dog the distemper shot, due to her size, that I would need to wait 2 weeks and come back for another appointment. I asked Laurie about booking this appointment and she told me I would have to pay for the vaccine (obviously) AND a recheck fee! Recheck for what I asked?! She had no answer. I asked for my dogs records and let her know that I would not be coming back. She said she would email them to me that evening and I still have not received them.
Was a really eye opening, sad experience for me. I really felt that they were just trying to over charge me for anything they could think of.

My experience when I was actually in the office was great, they were attentive and kind and seemed like they really cared about my bunny. The reason i’m giving them 1 star is that they told me my bunny was neutered but somehow they got that wrong! I then called and left a message for Dr. D’Onofrio asking how that could have happened but she never called back. It’s very worrisome that a vet could get something like that wrong. Do not take your bunny here.

I’ve always had good experience with both the Bay Ridge and Atlantic Ave locations, no matter the vet.
What is consistent is that will always follow Dr. Katie G. for my cat Katie even to Bay Ridge which is not convenient for me. She has this calming effect on my feline HCM psycho sweet biting scratching cat and manages to do a thorough exam whereas her previous vet at Atlantic never even got to see her teeth. She is also minimally invasive, didn’t recommend a gazillion things for my cat when she had bloody stools from eating aluminum foil. We came up with a conservative plan together and she even gave credence to my instincts instead of being all super ego vet. That means a lot, and my cat is doing much better without having spend a gazillion dollars.
I’m not giving them 5 stars because some services are super overpriced such as nail clippings and because the last 2 times when I’ve needed more meds for my cat I don’t get calls when it is ready. They have accommodated me when I’ve been the slacker and ran out of meds and needed them last minute, however.
I also wish the Doctors I see didn’t change. My first visit ever was to Dr. Ryan a few years ago but then they blew up and appointments with her are hard to come by. The next vet moved to the Manhattan location. I have no idea who I saw the last time though I had a good experience.

This veterinarian office looks like a plastic surgery office in Beverly Hills. Very classy and elegant ambience. By far nicer office than most doctor offices I’ve been to. In the front, I am greeted by a friendly receptionist and a table with a tray of delicious cookies and beverages (coffee, tea, water.) Everything looks state of the art and looks like they put a lot of thought into décor. Just to see the vet, costs about $ 65. The vaccine/​booster and such were about $ 45 each. The vet was friendly and explained about the vaccines in detail. My dog seemed to genuinely liked the vet and her assistant’s warm embrace. My dog was not as anxious as she was at previous vet offices so that says a lot! Even if it costs an arm and a leg, I will continue coming back because of their friendly staff and how well they treat my dog.

I’m new in the area and have two senior dogs. One of them in particular has persistent health issues.
I went to One Love because it was recommended by my landlord and I liked the reviews for the hospital.
I took my dog there for a sick visit and found the staff to be really polite. The vet seemed knowledgeable and was friendly. She recommended a couple tests and prescribed a few medications. The meds were a little spendy, so she wrote an Rx, even though she said we may not have any luck finding the drug at pharmacies. She wanted to give us the option of looking around for a better price. (We had no luck, but I appreciate the gesture.)
I agree with some of the reviews on here about the inflated cost at the hospital. Vet offices are notoriously expensive, but One Love is a really nice and modern facility, and with it comes a lot of extra charges.

This place preys on the unfortunate situation of people going through crisis
After bringing my cat here for an emergency they told me they will take xrays and I need to go to an emergency room for animals and they will email the results. I was charged $ 600. After driving 45min to the ER the vet said that One Love never sent the info and they cannot begin treatment. Then I called One Love personally and they still didnt send it! the ER calls 3^rd time and an hour fifteen min later they decide to send my $ 600 email.
A week later I come in to pay my remaining balance and get a cone collar for my cat, I get charged for a vet visit I didnt ask for. My cat was NOT given the full exam.
No compassion and complete lack of continuity in care!
