I take my beloved doggy here for all of her care. The doctors and staff are professional and obviously love the animals in their care. We have always gotten an honest assessment and a fair price. Highly recommend!

Everyone in this office is unbelievably great! The technician named Kelsey was AMAZING. Her calming positive energy had my cat loving her immediately. She spent a lot of time explaining to me (and to my family over the phone, which is a major task in itself!) exactly what was needed to help our sweet little Evan. The actual vet Dr. Farris was also so so helpful. He actually sat on the floor to examine Ev (unlike other vets I’ve been to that held my cat down on a cold table) let him wander the room and made him so comfortable. He explained everything in depth and helped us with deciding which tests were absolutely needed vs which tests to save for another visit. I’ve been to 3 different vets in Brooklyn and every time I feel like they are trying to sell my unnecessary tests and rushing me out the door. Not at One Love. I spent two hours there and they were nothing but accommodating. Even the women working the front desk were lovely! You can tell everyone in this office truly has a heart for animals and that they love coming to work everyday. They are the best!

I love love LOVE my vet. This place is full of love with extremely caring and nurturing practitioners who clearly love their job. My pitbull puppy felt so comfortable and at home here. I won’t go anywhere else for her needs.

DR. JOSEPH TSANG! He is a God send. We brought the baby (Carmelo) into the office because he had been crying when he stretched his leg. Torn ACL?! Thank goodness, no! Dr. Tsang put our hearts and minds at ease. Diagnosis? Slight hip issue which is common.
The staff was awesome and the doctors assistant (young, dark, handsome with locks) was very knowledgable and easy on the eyes.
We got Carmelo caught up on his vaccs and we’ll be back in a few weeks for the last of them. Thank you Dr. Tsang for your patience and knowledge! You are super sweet! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
PS. Dr. Tsang works mostly at the Bay Ridge office but is at the Atlantic Ave office once a week, on Mondays.

Thank you for being amazing to my dog, and being available to answer follow up questions when I was treating him at home. You have some great vets and staff members.

We’ve been bringing our 4 month old puppy to One Love Animal Hospital since she came home and they are the best! The receptionists are always so friendly and seem genuinely excited to see her. Dr. Farris has one of the most soothing voices I have ever heard and this always puts our doggie at ease. He is really calm, thorough and excellent about answering questions. They’re always available and someone calls the day after our dog gets a vaccination to make sure she is doing ok. Also, they have fresh baked cookies in the waiting room for owners!

Really friendly and professional staff, and very timely in terms of appointments! I was a bit underwhelmed by the vet who saw my cat. He was friendly and personable, but Google searches had already told me about 90% of the information he offered me. My 2 follow-​up e-​mails with questions about my cat’s treatment were not thoroughly addressed or answered. Pretty disappointing, especially considering the $ 76 consultation price.

I was so relieved that everything went perfectly, I went crazy researching vets for my kitty. Everyone was so nice, and the dr. Farris was extremely informative and gentle with both cats (my roommate and I had a joint appointment.) Really have nothing bad to say, and I don’t give out five stars very easily. The consult/​checkup, rabies shot, distemper booster, and de-​worming oil all came out to be $ 180 total. Not as expensive as I expected for nyc! I do recommend.

I’ve lived in NYC for 8 years, and I’ve been to a lot of really excellent vets. I have never had a better experience than with Dr. Katie Grzyb and her team. She is an exceptional veterinarian and everyone on staff gives equally excellent care. They always give a fair price and they do what’s right for my pets. I would recommend them to anyone.

One Love has been my go-​to veterinarian hospital for my Ginger Grace these past 2.5 years. To date, I have had zero complaints. My little girl has been seen by 3 of the vets here, and they have all been very kind, compassionate, and have given us plenty of time during visits, answering all of my questions and concerns. Most recently, we were seen by Dr. Grzyb and both Ginger Grace and I give her two thumbs up (wait, cats don’t have thumbs). All in all, our experience here has always been great. Thanks, One Love.

Our young cat had to have his teeth removed due to a congenital problem. In diagnosis, preparation, surgery and post follow up the staff and doctors (Katie and Justin) were upfront, generous with their time, caring and helpful.
Definitely a good experience and we feel very comfortable with them and the care our cat received.

After 4 years of being a loyal evangelist, we am leaving One Love because of their policies and clear lack of common sense business practices.
Today I had a 9:30am appnt scheduled to get shots up to date before we took our dog away on vacation. Traffic was completely stopped on all streets around their office because of a crane installation. Being respectful of their business, I called to inform the staff that I would be 20 mins late at which time I was informed by an unsympathetic and matter-​of-​fact staffer that our appnt would be cancelled and I would be charged a $ 150 urgent care fee if I wanted to keep the appointment. Wow, really? I’ve never been late or missed one scheduled appointment before. This is a little harsh, no? And, we really needed to get him in before we left on vacay. Basically, «Sorry Charlie, were’ll booked up. It’s $ 150 to you.» Is she working on commission?
While I certainly understand policy, as a business owner I also understand flexibility for good and loyal customers, especially those that have evangelized a business service and care and sent customers to them.
Clearly this employee is following a «script» and has no common business sense nor the willingness to accommodate the patrons in a manner that protects the owner’s customer base and reduces client attrition.
To be treated by the admin staff as if I was anything other than a long-​time customer and fan of their service is very disappointing. I’d recommend some employee training.
It may be just a job to them but owners, it’s your business that will suffer from their lack of customer service training and empathy.
The care you will receive is great, just don’t be late.
BTW, we now have moved to a vet that is closer and we can avoid a 45 min commute to go 3 miles through downtown Brooklyn.

I went to this location before the one in Bay Ridge opened. The people here were amazing. It was a short wait (10 – 15 mins) even when I called in last minute. The vet, Laurie, answered all my questions, understood my concerns, and showed me ways I can provide the best for my dog. What I found amazing was that One Love Animal Hospital does not seem like the people who wants to «steal» your money. They’ll give you a quote before they do anything on your dog so you do not leave without knowing exactly what you paid for. When declining something, they remained professional and did not seem judgmental. Laurie and the receptionist gave me a huge discount because they understood that my dog was a rescue and was in bad shape (no thanks to the rescue!) I had a great experience and so was my dog.

Extremely disappointing.
I have literally spent thousands of dollars at this place to help my cat get rid of a Urinary Tract Infection. It has been really hard to improve my cats condition. And I can understand it’s not an easy thing. I have had very good experiences with Doctor Humphreys and Doctor Katie and have nothing bad to say about them.
However…
When I called the hospital last week cause my cat started peeing blood, they told me they would charge an extra «emergency fee» of over $ 150 just to see my cat. The worse thing was how this was communicated to me. The amount of attitude I got from the receptionist was beyond anything I have experienced. After having visited this hospital multiple times over the past few years, I was hoping for some more empathy.

Like any other physician, with so many options in the area, it’s important that you’re comfortable with the vet, assistants and receptionists. I brought in my kitten for shots and check-​ups. I met with two different vets (Dr. Fairris and Katie) and different assistants. Everyone was great – very professional and took the time to answer all my questions as well as shared additional info for a first time cat owner. Most importantly, they were gentle when they handled my kitten and administered the shots. Receptionists were friendly and efficient.

The vet was really nice, and the receptionist was helpful and competent (can’t say that for a lot of vet offices). However, OMG, this is the most I’ve spent at a vet, and my late dog had cancer! Some of her cancer visits cost less than this place.
I will say that the vet spent a lot of time talking to me about my dog and I really appreciate that. But for that price, you better! While the service was good, I will probably continue to look for a new vet that is more affordable.

I have my regular vet that I love but sometimes she’s not available for emergencies. Anything related to the eyes is always an emergency in my book since I lost my beloved pug Nerobie to glaucoma and Romeo already had an eye ulcer before I adopted him.
In February my pug had one of his eye that had discharge and it was very red. Since I couldn’t see my vet for a week I went to One Love Animal Hospital. Once I got there they did some tests but the machine for the eye pressure was down. i was given antibiotics for 10 days and his eye got better. I dont remember the vet’s name but she was nice, blond and seemed to care .
Fast forward to May 19^th, and his eye start acting up again. My regular vet once again was not available, I called One Love and made an appointment for the same day. I specifically asked if the eye pressure monitor was fixed because that was the main reason I was going there. I was told the machine worked .
Once I get to the exam room, and talk with the technician, she mentioned that the eye pressure monitor might not be working. She stopped the exam straight away because I was upset since I had called prior coming and spent cab money from Bedstuy back and forth .
Finally Ms Lischin the vet, walks in. I started complaining, and she stopped me to ask me to talk about the symptoms. She said the monitor kept on breaking but that they were changing the batteries and recalibrating it. Then she goes on saying that eye pressure in dog is very painful and that I would have noticed it because dogs are usually miserable. Then she goes on saying how time is crucial to treat it asap as the eye could rupture .
Since my dog seemed playful and was eating I wasn’t too stressed. Then she took him away to examine him him in the back room. 5 minute turns into 10 turn into 15 minutes. To a point that I asked the receptionist what was going on. I’ve had my dog’s eye pressure taken before and it never took that long .
A few minutes later, an uptight Ms Lischin comes out with attitude … «It takes time to examine the eyes etc. what are you thinking we’re doing to your dog». I apologized but explained I have anxiety when it comes to my baby. Anyway then she goes to tell me his eye pressure is CRAZY. Giving me readings of 35 then 55 when the normal readings are between 10 – 20. That I need to go to see a specialist immediately. Then walks out as if been in my presence was bothering her. Her attitude was really the worse ! The receptionist came to tell me the consultation was over and to come out to pay .
I was given the phone numbers for Verg and Blue Pearl because I was so shook I could not think straight and was trying to get an appointment ASAP. Took 2 days before I could get an appointment to see Dr Evans at Blue Pearl in Mahattan .
The minute I got there she took the pressure and examined him and THANK GOD the pressure was normal, he has keratitis due to the scar in his eye. Never been so happy that my dog was misdiagnosed .
I think that Dr Lischin’s attitude was the worse and her misdiagnostic was a terrible mistake, especially when she said that she keeps on having problems with the machine. If that’s the case, just say that it’s not working and you don’t want to give bad readings. Looks to me they have a monitor that has been defective since February. I know I was complaining about been told it was working and spending money on cabs but it’s easier to swallow a few cab fares then a wrong diagnostic with eyes that could explode. I had 2 nights of barely sleeping and watching over him whenever he moved and having nightmares about my dog’s eye rupturing. Lucky I don’t have heart problems .
They might be a good clinic for other emergencies but if your pet has problem with his eyes I would definitely opt for another place.

I could write a really, really long review about how amazing Dr. G & Dr. L are, but I would for sure get choked up along the way. Instead I’ll say this: they were with us through some truly awful days… From our sweet cat’s lung cancer diagnosis to the day we had to put her to sleep. Their kindness, compassion & concern for (not only our pet but for me & my boyfriend) is something all vets should aspire to. They even sent us a handwritten sympathy card a few weeks later.
As far as non-​touchy/​feely things, their pricing is very transparent & we were always provided with several treatment options. The details of the diagnosis, procedures & test results were explained at length (and in plain English). The *only* negative was dealing with the front desk staff. While they were friendly enough in person, they weren’t great about returning phone calls — even when we left a somewhat frantic voicemail asking for an emergency appointment.
If/​when we’re ready for a new cat, we’ll absolutely trust the docs at One Love to look after her.

I joined Unilocal to write this review. My wife and I had nothing but bad luck finding a good vet in New York: we’d had terrible experiences at Clinton Hill Veterinary, and we’d taken to cabbing it all the way to AMC on the Upper East Side to seek out competent care for our pitbull.
My wife found One Love on Unilocal and we haven’t looked back. Having now taken our dogs there dozens of times, I’m consistently impressed by how their culture of empathy and caring runs through the entire staff — their *supremely* helpful support staff, their techs (especially Mash), and their medical staff. We have had extended experiences with every vet on staff, and there is not a weak one in the bunch.
My wife and I moved from Fort Greene to Bushwick last year, and taking cabs to One Love to continue our dogs’ care there has been a no-​brainer. Thanks, guys, for being so good.

Have you ever had a moment where you just stopped and looked around, and said: «I have come to the right place. I have come to the right people»?
For me, that moment came at One Love when the vet raised my kitten up over her head and said, «Naaaasssyvenyaaaaa!”*
Now, perhaps this is standard practice at all veterinarian offices (as it probably should be). I don’t know, I really have no frame of reference when it comes to vets. All I know is that One Love came highly recommended by friends of mine (and Unilocal,of course), and so far I have no complaints.
I like that they are prepared.
When I walked through the door for the first time, the nice woman behind the counter said, «Do you have a Batman?» Why yes, I do have a Batman, and he’s tiny and frightened (probably because the last time he was in a place that smelled like this, somebody cut his balls off). But I’m grateful you’re ready for him right away, and I’m so glad that all your people seem to love him as much as we do. Of course, since he is the cutest cat that ever walked the face of the earth, we can’t blame you.**
I like that they are knowledgable and sane.
Every single one of my questions is answered quickly and thoroughly.*** I don’t ever feel rushed, or like they are trying to sell me unnecessary treatments or procedures for the sake of making money. It feels like they have the little furry folks’ best interests at heart, and that they know what they are talking about.
I like that they are responsive.
When Batman ate a rubber band (because he takes after me and eats EVERYTHING), Katie (the wonderfully cheerful and friendly vet) e-​mailed back very quickly that it was most likely nothing to worry about. However, she did give me all the relevant information including what I needed to watch for to make sure the little guy wasn’t in any danger, and the aggressive but probably unnecessary procedure they could do if I was really freaking out.
I like One Love Animal Hospital.
