The atmosphere of the place is beautiful and smelled great too! Details of the interior and overall soft & natural colors used are great eye candy and great selections… I was at first SO excited to find such a beautiful store! HOWEVER, what completely ruined it was the one lady working there. After I said hello to her and she greeted me back, she obviously saw me holding a shopping bag of a store I had shopped from earlier that day, and she began ranting about how much she hates that store… (umm yeahhh right, I just bought something from there… This is really awkward!!) I felt like she was disrespecting me for buying something from that store that she hates so much and I have no idea why she had to tell me this other than trying to make me pissed off and get out of the store. And she succeeds. I of course didn’t bother staying much longer in the store with such a negative vibe. Extremely unfortunate. It might be another reason no one else was in the store, other than that the store is off from the vibrant area of Williamsburg. (and I bet she hates every single store on Bedford Ave.) I’m super picky about customer service(see my other reviews) so no matter how wonderful the products are, I would never purchase anything from such cranky people. I would only go back if they hire a more relaxed/positive person(but if she was the owner, boy I have an issue as much as she does with the store I shopped at) — but if that doesn’t bother you at all, its a hidden gem!

I would like to live in this store. They have a great selection of clothes by designers like Black Crane, Lauren Manoogian and Electric Feathers as well as great books and ceramics.

What a find! We stumbled upon this oasis by accident and feel richer from the experience. That being said, you will not feel richer in your pocketbook when you leave this gallery of a store. Most of the unique one of a kind pieces carry hefty price tags, but consider it as investing in wearable artwork and crafts and it makes more sense. We chatted to the lovely woman who explained that each designer they feature is selected based on their carrying on or innovating a particular crafting or artistic tradition. It really does feel like a beautifully curated museum and the prices do match. There are some lower priced pieces so there is something for everyone, but its a real treat for the ladies with a special cultivated taste. Great organic skin products too! Oh and rabbit hair bikinis!

I so fell in love with this shop in Williamsburg with inspired curation. I’m familiar with a lot of the work in here: Adina Mills rings, Abigail Chapin bags, Ghost Dancer beaded earrings, Morgan Speck ceramics, the Shelter book series. The vibe is definitely California/hippie/native/ethnic/bohemian/artsy-craftsy/new age/local/organic/etc. An abundance of leather, beads, wood, crystals, and other natural materials. There are lots of plants everywhere and gorgeous recycled wood displays. If you cranky Unilocalers think it’s overpriced because you can’t afford to shop here, that’s not BD’s fault, it’s yours. I can barely afford anything in here(because I also own a boutique, ha) but that doesn’t mean I don’t love the atmosphere of this shop and the gorgeous things they carry. It’s clear the shopgirls here don’t do the hard sell and let the goods speak for themselves, but the stressed-out manager definitely gave off an brusque attitude, which is ironic given all the lovey-dovey hippie vibes. A little more warmth would have been nice.

This place is overpriced for what it sells– $ 250 + for a scarf that you can get at Canal street for $ 10, Dresses that are $ 500+ made out of ecuadorean orphan eyelashes, I mean COMEON! The stuff here is eclectic like your crazy hippie aunt’s womblike boho ashram in Haight Ashbury, with all the pretty crystals and succulent plants adorning the place, but you can get the same stuff at Jackson heights for a TENTH of the price. and the lady at the counter seems to have asperger’s syndrome since she just sits there looking like a white ghost amidst the sea of ethnic paraphernalia, face as pale as a sheet and expressionless like a toaster. It would be far more interesting if she was a hooting crazy bin with a Navajo Headdress and singing songs about her spirit animal.

Beautiful store filled with unique, pretty trinkets, jewels and clothes. Love the native american influences on the store design itself… lots of plants, textiles and ceramics. Prices are a little high but it seems like all the merchandise is from smaller, local brands so that’s to be expected. The older lady that works there is a little annoying and gave me a really hard time today about taking a photo in the store and while I could understand where she was coming from, I think the lecture was unnecessary.
