Pizza is consistently good. Buffalo wings are good most of the time, but the last time I ordered buffalo wings they tasted like plain wings that had buffalo sauce thrown on them at the last second. I’ld preferred if they told me they ran out, so I won’t risk it with the wings again… Going to stick to pizza from now on.

The pepperoni pizza here was delish; I helped myself to 3 servings(I know, I’m just as shocked as you are!). I couldn’t help but dip my crust(which I don’t usually eat) into the awesome garlic sauce they provided. If you haven’t tried their yummy garlic sauce, I suggest you so it nowwww!

This is only a review of their delivery service which I assume as a chain the product will be consistent, not of their street-side restaurant. If you are just looking for something edible that you don’t have to leave the house for at 11pm, well, I guess I have to give them points for convenience. BUT that convenience will cost you big time. Today I ordered ONE thin-crust pie with two toppings, a box of chicken«poppers»(poppers is right — they consist of small lumps of breaded and fried chicken that are a single bite each… not a lot to sink your teeth into, but tasty nevertheless) and two bottles of coke. This small little repast, with a $ 6 tip and tax, cost me $ 42 — a nice chunk of money for something that could be considered a small snack for one. You can find one of MANY Brooklyn local pizzerias that will give you MUCH more food and at much better quality for half that cost. But then again, like I said, those other guys aren’t delivering it right to your door that late at night. Now the food quality… well, it barely rises above«awful.» I haven’t ordered regular crust in a long time from PJs so I will withhold judgement on it – I do recall it wasn’t as bad as this thin crust — but the thin crust I just at was simply unappetizing. The cheese seems to be solidified in a way that has it as a separate entity atop the sauce so it slides off separately and has this semi-translucent look that makes you think it’s not real cheese at all. Every slice of pizza I have ever eaten, the cheese, crust, sauce and toppings are all melded into one entity that all stay together. Maybe it’s the fact that PJs comes out of the oven then waits around to be delivered and then makes that trip and gets to you a half hour later so maybe it cools enough to cause that unappealing separation of ingredients, I don’t know, but whatever it is, the final product going into my mouth is not a delicious, bubbly, cheesy, delightful entity known as pizza. When it’s Papa Johns, it’s something else. And it sure doesn’t look or act like any REAL pizza I’ve had at any of the real, italian, walk-in-off-the-street pizzerias, of which there are many excellent ones in Brooklyn. And some of them WILL deliver, like San Remo’s on Cortelyou or Napoli on Nostrand. Problem with most of those great Mom & Pop’s is, even if they deliver, they don’t deliver late like PJs does. So still, PJs has that edge for convenience, but for quality, 1 star, for cost, forgedaboutit. If you need late delivery, stick with Dominos. Oh yah, did I mention, if you are ordering from PJs, be ready to take out a second mortgage on your house first.

Ordered here a few days ago, it took 50min just to deliver 5 blocks away, then the pizza was all slumped over to one side as if the delivery guy was holding it sideways the whole ride over.

Fast, courteous, and open late. Great for midnight snacking(to regret the morning after). Have ordered from this place countless times and delivery is always quick with the food still hot. I placed an online order 10 minutes before their closing time once(I was desperately hungry) and they called to apologize, saying that they were already all cleaned up which was perfectly understandable and nothing to be mad about. Very polite. When you think of a Papa John’s you don’t think of slices, you think pies and wings — even their desserts are large — so I don’t get all these people angry that they don’t sell slices? If you want slices go to a neighborhood pizza shop. There are different shops for different things.

I got some coupons on my doorsteps and decided to order online for carryout. They gave me an estimated time of 15 – 25 minutes. I got a call about 20 minutes after I ordered telling me my pizza was ready … very nice(they had not got my cash yet though). 10 minutes later I got there and was greeted by the staff girl, she was very nice throughout the transaction. The pizza was still warm. It was a bit small for a «large» but I didn’t care since the toppings were really packed in. Tasty pizza.

I think Mateo H. has got to be a Poppa Johns employee. Why else would he complain that a single slice(in this hood) cost(approx) $ 2.50. At least you can walk into ANY pizzeria in Gravesend and order an edible slice! Try that @ Poppa John’s. Mateo also said that their pizzas are only $ 10 bucks. Yeah, even their large pizza is tiny. So you pay about $ 14 for a large pie in any local pizza place and get a REAL large pie. If you can eat a large pie from a local pizza place by yourself you must be realllly hungry. It can be done, but a large pie from any local place is HUGE! The point is this pizza SUCKS! If you would have told me that a «pizza chain» was opening in Gravesend i would have laughed at that, but here we are. I was forced to try it and it was bad… really bad. Yeah, if your a bit buzzed after hittin’ the Purple Kush all night then anything is gonna taste good, even this cardboard pizza. There are a lot of good, very good and legendary pizzerias in this hood. Almost all will deliver even a mile or two. This isn’t the burbs or the sticks, this is Gravesend. They give away free pizza in the freakin’ hardware store ova here! You got L&B(even their slice, which no one hardly orders is better than PJ’s), Ciccios(one of the best!), N&D(good solid pizza), Enzo’s(VGNY slice & food), Italia, Vic’s(great squares) and not to mention all the great places under 86th St. Why in gods name would you order from a corporate chain? It’s like easy bake oven pizza. All the local restaurants usually offer discounts-coupons that can feed a whole family for $ 20. I understand that new, different cultures that move into neighborhoods might not understand or care about eating from a local place cause they see the 3 million TV commercials and think«Yum, that looks good». I guarantee that 99.9 outta 100 your local pizza person is going to make a better tasting pizza. You’ll also be supporting a local business and not a corporate chain. I’ve tried the pizza and it’s not pizza.

Unless you are a tourist visiting landmarks like L&Bs, there really is no reason to buy your pizza from anywhere other than this papa johns. Always fresh out of the oven and prices remarkably low, it’s hard to imagine going anywhere else for pizza. There are always coupons available and dont even mention papa john’s exquisite sauces – their garlic sauce is to die for. I’m so sick of paying $ 2.50 for a slice in a typical brooklyn pizzeria when you can get 2 pies, each with 2 toppings for a total of $ 10 here. What’s great about chains like papa johns is that their quality is consistent. I no longer have to gamble with overpriced locals. What else? Wings. For whatever reason, Brooklyn has extremely few places outside of pubs that offer buffalo style wings.

No slices? That’s crazy. It’s stupid to try to compete with the great family pizza places in the neighborhood. They obviously don’t understand Brooklyn. Fuggetaboutit!

I ordered from this place because I received some coupons that were left on my door knob. I went to this location to ask for delivery at 9:00pm. They greeted me when I reached the register and thanked me as I left. The two register girls took orders in person, on the phone, and made sure that everyone was being helped. The kitchen staff were extremely busy from all the orders. Promptly at 9:00pm, my four large pizzas and some other misc stuff arrived at my door. The pizzas were still hot and the delivery guy was well mannered. He warned me about the temperature of the pizzas but I kind of ignored it since I did not expect it to be that hot. Great service from my first order ! Will buy again sometime !
