We offer a multitude of services for all kinds of pets and personality types. Established in 2008.

Paw Paw Pet Care’s mission is to provide an overall benefit to your pets’ well being. This means we do much more than just take your dog out for a walk. Paw Paw Pet Care is owner ran and operated by Melissa Martin and Adam Dougherty who are married and live in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. They have earned the respect of their colleagues through hard work and dedication. Melissa is CPR and First Aid Certified. She has helped nurse several injured animals back to health. Soon after moving to Brooklyn in 2000 she became a foster home for abandoned and injured kittens for the New York chapter of the ASPCA. Adam is an avid dog lover who has been training dogs for 10 years while advising many friends and family. He has lived in Clinton Hill since 1996 and is a graduate of Pratt Institute.

Paw Paw is owner ran and operated by Melissa Martin and Adam Dougherty who are married and live in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn.

Adam was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He is an avid dog lover who trains dogs while advising many friends and family. Adam is known as ‘Saint Francis’ to his mother because of his uncanny ability to relate to almost any animal. He has lived in Clinton Hill since 1996 and is a graduate of Pratt Institute.

Melissa grew up in Indiana chasing chickens, wrestling frogs and petting pigs. She is CPR and First Aid Certified. Melissa moved to Brooklyn in 2000 and became a foster home for abandoned and injured kittens for the New York chapter of the ASPCA.

They live with their cat Pearl (adopted from a Ft. Greene deli), two cage-​free rescued parakeets and a gold fish. Stella, their German Shepard, passed away in March 2009, after 13 years of exuberant life. Albert, their English Bulldog, is the newest addition to their family. He’s a rescue and is pure love!
