I really need Unilocal to allow no stars… The place is sooo dumpy dark n drab. The carpet is wrinkled n so worn out. It’s probably older than dirt. The soft seating is anything but. You sit in it good luck trying to get up. It’s a funeral home… People are going to cry… You think they had tissue??? If u thought yes u r wrong! What kind of funeral home doesn’t have tissue for its guests? Besides the body it should be the first thing on ur list. Wtf! The podium and mic is older than I am! The wires are all out and a trip hazard… Shouldn’t they have speakers in the wall u know like a MODERN funeral home should!!! I’m just saying. The rooms aren’t properly and easily labeled. I’m sick of strangers walking in here looking for another person’s wake! The guest book table in wobbly… All this money ur charging for ur sub par service u can’t get better furniture!!! If it was up to me I would close this place down. It’s not worth of the respect of hosting funerals. Stay away people!!!

I have been to 4 memorials here. Yes 4. Not sure of the correct term as everyone calls it something else. The home handled them all tastefully. The lack of 5 stars has nothing to do with the actual funeral services just me as a reviewer. Nothing is wrong with it at all. And to those who go to funerals and take pictures of the deceased in the casket,(which at every funeral I have been to in the hood many have done this) I think it is in bad taste and I don’t get the reason for this. Every time you look at the picture you remember the person that way rather than alive. In my opinion that is sick but that has nothing to do with the funeral home just Brooklyn funeral behavior in the hood. It seems to be a common thing to do. Even to the point of someone pulling out other casket pictures of people I knew. What am I supposed to say, he looks good? No way, they look dead. Really I celebrate life not death! So I said all that to say I don’t have any pictures and didn’t plan on doing any reviews but this popped up when I reviewed Greenwood cemetery. But if you are going to use a funeral home in this area they are trustworthy. The last funeral I went to here was for someone very close. Their son wanted to handle all of the arrangements but he doesn’t really have the skills to do it and the funeral home was very helpful on every level. They also protected the deceased as there were instructions to do so with family fighting over what to do with the body. People get crazy at funerals and fight over crazy stuff that is inappropriate to fight about and the funeral home is prepared for that and handled it well. Did you see death at a funeral with Tracy Morgan? If so as funny as the movie was it doesn’t come close to how crazy and drama filled a funeral in the hood is especially in Brooklyn! Anyway you can trust this funeral home if you have a need to do so, hopefully you won’t any time soon!

i went to a beautiful service for a friend of a friend here. professional, tasteful, and sophisticated. even though i wasn’t the family of the departed i will always remember ponce funeral home. i would recommend it to anyone that wants to give their loved one a dignified farewell. i’m a brooklyn artist and i paid homage to my experience there in a piece of mine:
