Brooke and the Red Table staff were a dream to work with. It’s no wonder our friends are still talking about the food because it was incredible. If we had to do it all over again we wouldn’t change a thing, expect perhaps make sure there were more leftovers. And if anyone is looking for entrée ideas for their wedding, I would highly recommend the prime rib. It was out of sight!

My wife and I (along with our 150 wedding reception guests) were all thoroughly blown away by our experience with Red Table Catering. We picked them because we wanted local, seasonal food made with the freshest ingredients, and after speaking with Brooke about our vision, we really felt like he completely understood our taste and what we were going for. We then had a tasting in his backyard under a cute tent surrounded by his garden — it was magical! The food at the tasting was phenomenal and exceeded our expectations. Brooke has such a fantastic energy and is clearly so passionate about what he does. We left that meeting feeling 1000% confident that we made the right decision and that Brooke genuinely cared about making sure our night was perfect.
Not only was Brooke A PLEASURE to work with in the planning stages, but the entire team was amazing during the actual event. Brooke was incredibly accommodating with our request to make certain dishes gluten-​free and dairy-​free and WOWED us with the flavors and textures of everything! It quite literally seems like everyone at the party came up to us to rave about the food! Numerous guests said it was hands down the best food they have ever had at a wedding. I had someone ask me if Brooke had a restaurant since they would want to dine there all the time. I had someone else tell me the next day that they woke up dreaming about the food! People are still talking about how delicious it was.
Brooke worked with us to curate a dream menu that worked with the flow of the event. Instead of a sit down dinner, we were creating more of a party vibe with food stations open throughout the night so people could enjoy delicious bar snacks, an extensive cocktail-​hour spread, and a variety of large bites as the main course. The Red Table team were able to easily pull this off, making sure each station was always full and the food was perfect at all times — everything flowed so naturally. Bar snacks included truffle popcorn, sweet and savory roasted nuts, and homemade taro chips with lime and chilis. The cocktail hour included oysters, a market table spread of seasonal, gluten-​free grilled flat breads, as well as artisanal cheeses, meats, olives, crudité, grilled vegetables, and more. The 4 main dinner stations offered pork belly buns /​gluten free pork belly taquitos, two types of vegan tostadas with butternut squash and with black beans, fried chicken with chilis and honey (shockingly gluten-​free), as well as lamb chops. In addition to the exceptional flavor, every single dish was beautifully plated with accompanying sauces /​salads /​vegetables. Beyond that, the service was absolutely superb.
Red Table gets an A+, two enthusiastic thumbs up, 5 stars, and every other expression of perfection you can think of. We absolutely, whole-​heartedly recommend them and hope to have future occasions in need of catering so we can work with them again.

I recently attended a party catered by Red Table. The food was amazing and the service was great. The way they presented their delicious nibbles was also impressive. I was impressed as well by their bartender who made great specialty drinks throughout the day. It was a wonderful party with dear friends and Red Table was one of the reasons it was such a success.

Brooke and her team were top notch in catering our housewarming/​post-​wedding celebration. The whole process was very easy and on the day of, they handled everything very professionally and responded flexibly throughout the day. The food was amazing! We were looking for a company specializing in small plates as it was more of a cocktail party and they really delivered. The bartender did a great job with our speciality cocktails and with whatever drink the guests wanted. We were also very impressed they were able to bring their own tents, which can typically be a pricey additional cost. The pricing for the whole thing seemed very reasonable and well worth it. We look forward to booking the team again for future events!

We were extremely fortunate to work with Red Table on a charity fundraiser for our non-​profit, Bed-​Stuy Campaign Against Hunger. From start to finish, Brooke and his team were amazing. They put together a fabulous cocktail spread for us and somehow managed to do it within our limited budget.
His blood orange margaritas and white sangria were the perfect complement to our Cinco de Mayo-​themed hors d’oeuvres, which were delicious and creative, beautifully presented, and plentiful. Their signature market table was a huge hit, with an abundant spread of dips, spreads, cheeses, market vegetables, and more. The staff was incredibly professional but also warm and friendly — a combination that can be difficult to find. And Brooke was a complete pleasure to work with, start to finish. He was immediately responsive whenever we contacted him during the planning process, gave us great suggestions and also listened to ours, and made sure that every aspect of the event was carefully planned and went off without a hitch.
Red Table will definitely be my first (and only) call the next time I need a caterer. SIX stars.

This fabulous team catered a fundraiser at 26 Bridge this week that was AMAZING! They coordinated small bites with local food vendors and then provided the main course and desserts. First, the food was fantastic. Even though the kitchen had to hold the entrees due to a delay in the ceremony, the salmon came out perfectly done. The risotto was just right with sweet peas and a creamy finish. The roasted chicken was moist and briny and golden. But the best part was the staff. The nicest, most accommodating people who kept pace with our 200+ guests, filling glasses and swiftly clearing and helping where needed. Just an all-​around great bunch!

Brooke and team are total pros.
We loved working with these guys. They helped us throw an amazing cocktail/​dinner party. The food was excellent, our guests loved it. That ceviche! So good.

We hired Red Table Catering after doing some online research for an experienced Brooklyn caterer for our wedding. We did not want your typical wedding fare, and Brooke and his team did not disappoint! Brooke is incredibly easy to work with, and we bonded over my husband being from the same area of upstate NY (Buffalo area).
We had a 135 person wedding at The Green Building in October of 2014 and Brooke custom designed our menu to include smoked fried chicken breast, Weiner Schnitzel, buffalo chicken wings, grilled cheese and tomato soup shots, a slider bar, beef short rib, and even monkfish liver!
Our tasting was another great experience! (we consumed 4 hours worth of food in 45 minutes that was so delicious we had to eat every bite).

When you have a wedding at the Green Building, you have to bring everything in to the venue, including any custom seating, place settings, etc. Brooke spent hour with me picking out just the right décor and table settings for the vibe I was looking for.
That evening, we literally did not have to worry about a single thing, and even though I was a busy bride working the room, Brooke’s team made sure that I got a taste of everything at some point!
Brooke made himself available and was consultative at every turn, from the process of working through budget, to select table/​place setting rentals, and doing a walk-​through at the venue. Hopefully I won’t get married again, but after our experience with Red Table, I’m tempted! :)

Having Brooke cater our wedding was one of the best decisions that we made. We saw Brooke for the first time when we came to NY from SF and started planning for our wedding. He had us over at his Brooklyn kitchen for a wonderful meal and impressed us with his courteousness, professionalism, and enthusiasm about our plans. Over the six months leading up to the wedding, we kept in touch over the phone and email as we planned a wedding on the East Coast. Brooke was simply an outstanding vendor: easy to get in touch with, quick to respond to questions and concerns, thoroughly knowledgeable about the million of «small things» that need to be planned for during the reception. As for the reception — it was just amazing. Everyone RAVED about his food (and, in fact, continued praising it several months afterwards). I know that everyone says that the married couple rarely has a chance to enjoy the meal — but this was not the case for us. We had seconds and thirds — in part, thanks to his superb staff who made sure that we are well provided for. And we just can’t stop thinking about how delicious the food was. We highly recommend Red Table Catering!!!

My now-​husband and I hired Red Table Catering after a long and very in-​depth process of searching for the perfect caterer for our Brooklyn wedding! We had a 140-​person wedding at The Green Building in October 2014. Getting married at The Green Building meant that we had to bring in everything — tables, chairs, linen, food, cooking appliances, everything! We knew we wanted a caterer who was familiar with the space, and who would be able to provide top-​notch service to our guests. We spoke to a number of caterers and got a variety of quotes, and Brooke and Red Table Catering absolutely stood out as the best choice!
We went to an absolutely delicious tasting, and immediately hit it off with Brooke. He’s incredibly easy to work with and accommodating. He cares about what matters to his clients, and he went above and beyond to make sure that we were absolutely happy with every element of our wedding. Brooke and his team were so incredibly impressive on our wedding day, I actually went in the back and applauded them at the end! I got so many compliments on the food — we had short rib pappardelle that was out of this world, a pork chop that I didn’t want to end, delicious home made mini apple pie desserts, a passed hors d’œuvre selection that was amazing, and so many other really, really delicious treats.
Importantly, the team was conscientious of my husband and I throughout the whole event: making sure we always had a drink in our hand and were not missing a course. That was true of Red Table Catering (and especially Brooke) from start to finish of our experience with them. Whenever I had a question or a concern, Brooke was calming and thoughtful, always aware of our budget and always ready to lend a hand when needed.
I can’t say enough great things about our experience with Red Table Catering, and would highly recommend them for any event!

About time I write a review! My event production agency has worked with Brooke & team on a few different occasions now, and we’ve been very happy every time. Most recently they created a perfectly elegant, sophisticated, and utterly creepy menu for a horror themed press event we threw for a TV show. We appreciated their flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm with our unique theme. The event before that was a cocktail party for a health-​focused magazine, so was a very different feel, and they created an elegant, contemporary, health conscious menu that was just right for what we needed.
In a city with so many options for high quality caterers, with Red Table you can trust you’ll work with great people, the planning process will be straight forward and stress free, and the food will be classy and delicious.

The best catering hands down I ever experienced! We had 40 guests at a high end dinner and the guests were blown away!!!

We found Red Table through a New York Magazine article on caterers specializing in small bites — something that they did not disappoint on for our wedding.
My wife and I didn’t want to do a traditional sit down dinner for our reception, so we were looking for someone that could deliver a twist on classic hors d’oeuvres and heavier stations that would keep our guests feeling both delighted and full. We contacted a number of options we had also found in that NY Mag piece, along with recommendations from friends, family and other referral sources. After narrowing it down to a few select vendors based on a combination of price point and sample menus, we ventured out for tastings. This is where Brooke and Melanie won us over.
Shallot jam and mascarpone bruschetta, gougère with gruyère and chevre, sliders on super soft potato buns, and more came to our table with each bite better than the next. All the while, Brooke was the ultimate host and made us feel like we were in great hands. We booked them for our event shortly thereafter.
They helped us throughout the process, from working within our budget, to booking the necessary equipment they needed themselves through our preferred vendor. Correspondence was nice and easy, and they made themselves available for site visits to map out their footprint for the evening — something not every vendor was willing to do, let alone gratis.
The night of the party, Brooke and his team were just unbelievable. Servers moved efficiently throughout a large outdoor space, making sure everyone had multiple opportunities at the menu items. When an item for the bar didn’t show up from a different vendor with the order, they ran out and took care of picking it up from a place in the area without hesitation. They were even kind enough to pass out a special dessert we had from a local bakery — a testament to their goal of making the night about the client and not themselves. Our guests even took notice, raving about both how delicious the food was, and how nice and courteous the staff was to everyone.
We can’t recommend Red Table Catering enough. Thank you so much to Brooke and the team for making our night so special.

So this review is not about the food — we did not unfortunately get to that part. We reached out to Red Table to cater our wedding as the reviews online are fantastic and they seem to understand the type of party we are having. Melanie immediately responded and we had a great call — she listens, asks the rights questions, and is professional and sweet.
Unfortunately we never saw a quote. Essentially what happened was that they were very busy and there were (completely understandable) extenuating circumstances preventing her from getting us a quote when she promised. We emailed back and forth a couple of times, we were very understanding, but, honestly, we just never heard from her again. We’re bummed.

My hubs and I hired Red Table after NUMEROUS quotes and calls. Being a foodie w/​a carnival theme, I wanted to have a wedding that had the essence of a carnival while still being tasty and classy. Red Table knocked it out of the park!
From day 1, Melanie was on board — working w/​us at every step to make sure that we had what we wanted, at a price that we could afford (from food to drinks to rentals), while not looking stingy or w/​bad day of service. The result: guests couldn’t stop raving about the food, how the tables looked, how attentive the staff was, and how it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. To this I say it’s because they’re food is NOT wedding food. Instead, it’s food just like you’d have in a really great restaurant or at a really, really good home cooked meal.
For our menu, we went w/​sliders, mac & cheese tarts, pan seared tuna on wasabi plantain chips, home recipe sausage & potato empanadas and a cheese board. For dinner, we had fried chicken, skirt steak w/​chimichurri sauce, orzo salad, corn on the cob and a salad. As I said, everything was AMAZING!!! Guests were particularly fans of the mac & cheese, pan seared tuna and fried chicken. Who has fried chicken at a wedding and kills it like that??! It wasn’t greasy, the spices were AMAZING, and the batter was so nice and crispy that it was hard to believe that it was actually cooked en masse for our wedding! For the empanadas, Melanie used our own sausage recipe since I didn’t want 2 beef hors d’oeuvres (since we usually have beef empanadas — reflective of my Argentine dad). For the sliders, Melanie worked w/​us to make them just how I wanted. At the tasting, they had used more a flaky break w/​ketchup. Since I really disliked the bread and don’t like ketchup, she worked w/​me to get it just right — brioche, bacon, cheddar and bbq sauce. In the end, guests LOVED IT! Some even posted right out of the kitchen to snag them b/​c of how much they loved them. And to honor both of our backgrounds, Melanie worked w/​us to create dishes that were reflective of our families — the skirt steak w/​chimichurri sauce & empanadas for the Argentine dad, and a roasted pig from a nearby filipino restaurant for my filipino background.
On top of all this, Melanie allowed us to bring in our own desserts which made our wedding that much more special and personal. As such, we were able to get desserts from all of our favorite places — pies from Jericho Cider Mill, cookies from Tate’s in the Hamptons, rainbow cookie cakes from a bakery in Queens and my very own sister-​in-​law/​bridesmaids homemade goodies.
Overall, if you want something that’s so personal to you while still tasting beyond amazing, you can’t go wrong w/​Red Table (ie: Melanie was even able to give me my goat cheese at the cheese/​fruit station and have it so far from all the rest of the cheeses to appease my goat-​cheese hating hubs). They did everything and more, thereby helping to make our wedding more than absolutely amazing!
OH, AND BTW, they did this all after Hurricane Sandy killed all our power, trees, phone lines, cable, water damage, etc. AND the Nor’easter. Simply wonderful!!!

When my husband and I decided to get married at the Green Building in Brooklyn, we started looking around for catering options. I wanted the most delicious food available, hands down. Eating delicious food is a way of life in Brooklyn, but so many wedding caterers fall short. Everyone we asked put Red Table at the top of their list. We tried another, less expensive caterer first, but were disappointed by the food when we had a tasting. Red Table to the rescue:
Brooke sent us a list of choices, but made clear we could easily go off-​list (and we did for one of the vegetables). We picked a handful, and then went over for a tasting. The tasting was was heaven, although difficult because EVERYTHING was great, but ultimately it did help us nail down what we wanted for the big day.
And everything was perfect on that big day. People kept coming up to us at the wedding and telling us how nice the catering staff was, and how they were going out of their way to help with dietary restrictions. The passed hors d’oeuvres, which usually seem so scarce when they’re good, kept coming and coming. The food was beyond perfect (including the cake, which was so much tastier than any other wedding cake I’ve had). People also kept telling us that it was the best food at a wedding they’d ever had (and the nicest service).
Four months later, and we’re still getting compliments on the food at our wedding all the time. And did I mention how great they were to work with? Brooke and Melanie are a hell of a team. I’d recommend them a million times over.

Red Table just catered our 150 person wedding this past Memorial Day. Before deciding on Red table we did a lot of research on caterers. Though reasonably priced, food was the biggest expense of our wedding. Being food lovers, we really cared about the quality of the food. Many of our friends who had recently been married warned us that while they were wined and dined by their own caterers before their event, the food on the day of was disappointing. We really did not want that that happen.
Thank God for Red Table. They were wonderful to work with, and the food was perfect — our guests raved about it. We wanted simple, fresh local food and that is exactly what we got.
For hors d’oeuvres we had mac and cheese cups, seared beef filet on potato crisp with horseradish mustard and with apple sauce and sour cream, and Vietnamese summer spring rolls. All delicious.
For dinner we had a mixed green salad w/​fresh goat cheese, toasted pumpkin seeds and cider vinaigrette, salt boiled potatoes, grilled market asparagus, mixed long beans with crispy shallots, lemon herb roasted chicken. We also added a vegan main at the last minute — we told Brooke about a stuffed squash that we ate in Wyoming that we really liked, and gave him the green light to play with it and make it more seasonal. Again, everything was amazing.
For a late night snack we served poutine (fries, gravy and cheese curds). As a native Quebecoise I was a little nervous about how the poutine would turn out, but Melanie assured me that they would do their research and they totally nailed it.
Finally, of almost equal importance to us was the ease of working with Red Table. Brooke helped us choose the best meal for the occasion, and Melanie walked us through everything we would need to rent for the event, and offered advice on how to save money and reduce waste. Having Melanie at the event the entire time was key: with her there we didn’t need to hire a day-​of planner, we knew that the wedding was in competent hands. Melanie helped coordinate with our other vendors, she kept us on our toes about details like place cards, table numbers, table layout, etc.
They were so great. I highly, highly recommend Red Table for your catering needs.

We hired Red Table to cater our wedding and boy what a great choice. The food was fantastic. We asked for two buffet themes: soul food and cuban food. That’s exactly what we got, including the full roasted pig! Their staff was also outstanding. When my bride’s purse was lost, they hunted it down. After we cut the cake, they wrapped up pieces for us to take home without us asking. Leading up to the wedding they were very down to earth and helpful. And their price was completely reasonable. I would definitely hire them again in a heartbeat.

Attention, about-​to-​be-​marrieds: The ceremony might be all about you, but I urge you to spare a thought for your guests (supposedly your nearest and dearest, after all) and hire Red Table for your big day. They catered an event I attended recently, and the food wasn’t merely good by the (low) standards of wedding dining-​it was a meal I’d be thrilled to eat no matter what the circumstances. No grey meat with gummy sauce or dry rice pilaf in sight. Hallelujah!

Partners Brooke and Melanie were truly a dream come true when we were planning our wedding. They didn’t just try to get us to go for the most expensive (ie profitable for them), but rather worked with the ideas and menu plans that we had, and made them work with our budget. They were incredibly knowledgeable, very easy to communicate with, and were happy to have us over to their kitchen for our meetings, and fed us each and every time too! They’re staff were also incredible. They also arranged tables, chairs, silverware, etc. rentals with only the smallest of mark up. Literally everyone raved about how great the food was. Even now, two years later, my parents still regularly are told by their friends that the food at our wedding was by far the best that they have ever had. Some even said it was better than any restaurant that they’ve ever been too. I can’t recommend them enough. FYI– they do everything from large events to small intimate dinners that are cooked in your own kitchen. Google them and you’ll find some great articles!
