I love love love Relaxing on Smith. It is very reasonably priced and is very clean. It is not a high end massage experience, but if you need someone to work out the kinks, they do a great job. I love the hot stone addition you get with a 60 minute massage!

I was thrilled with my hour long massage today. It was relaxing but still therapeutic. My masseuse even used hot stones! Will return.

One of the best massages I have ever had. Before I went I noticed some of the reviews talked about them using too much pressure, but I asked for medium pressure and it was exactly what I wanted.

This massage was amazing. I feel like a new woman. I had some serious tension in my upper shoulder and this really did the trick. I will definitely be returning.

I am one of those who expect a miracle every time I go for a massage. For that reason, most of times I am disappointed. The first time I tried 30′ with David, it was a gift voucher. And I liked it a lot. Then I tried a 60′ and it was good enough but expectation was too high I guess… Value for money is good though, considering the neighborhood. Maybe next time I will try another masseur/masseuse, then I can update the review and, who knows… miracles might happen!

I have really tense shoulders and David turned my muscles to jelly but was intuitive enough to let up when I couldn’t handle it. Reasonably priced, but the inside smells a bit musty, maybe just because I went at the height of summer though. This is not a fancy spa with cucumber water, but you can walk in and get pummeled(or not, if you don’t want deep tissue), they’re open long hours, and the staff were all super nice. I bet the guy snoring through his massage in the next curtained-off space would agree with me on all points. Bonus: they take credit cards

I love this place. I have been going for about three years! This review is not about the business but a message to the lady that was there tonight August 16th, 2015, and the guy next to her or with her. But especially her!!! Thank you for ruining the massage to everybody else there. Are you so much into yourself to have to loudly moan for an entire hour!!! Seriously? Are you sure you were getting a massage in there or where you just trying to ask very subtly for something else?!! Ridiculous! If I hear you ever again, I will not be so polite to stay quite, but you will hear me. I really hope you are a Unilocal user!

I have been here twice for 30 minute massages of an evening and both have been great, on Sunday I went for a full hour massage and it was excellent. I have walked in on all occasions and never had to wait longer than 5 – 10 minutes The salon its self is a no thrills kind of space, the rooms are made up of divided curtains and you can easily hear into the neighboring rooms but I will take this any day over a more fancy place that push memberships or products on you. You really do get a great massage here for the money. The hour massage I had was amazing, the lady who was working on me found my knots and tightness straight away and really worked them out checking with me that the pressure was OK often. She spent the most time on my back and shoulders which really needed it but also worked on my arms, legs and gave a mini head massage at the end. I was sad when it was over and I will certainly be coming back for more full body massages in the future — highly recommended!

Sort of a 3.5, reflecting«not fancy and a bit impersonal, but totally adequate given the price and convenience.» The good: They take walk-ins! And they are actually nicer, in terms of atmosphere, than other inexpensive massage places I’ve been to. The curtains separating each cubicle are, indeed, rubbish as far as soundproofing, but it felt like enough privacy for me. The soothing spa music and the fish were welcome touches, and I like that my masseuse gave me a little paper cup of water on the way out, because I needed it. The eh: I would have liked a little more conversation about what was actually happening, especially as a first-timer. I made a point of saying«half hour, mostly my back» because it didn’t seem like she was going to ask. Also during the massage there were suddenly hot rocks, which were nice in the end but a little surprising. Last critique is that her technique was a little indiscriminate. In fact, it seemed to be based on a firm belief that«I can squish that» rather than like, systematically finding and eliminating knots. For $ 35, though, I guess I can excuse that.

Obviously it’s no frills as far as décor but the quality of the message is incredible! For the price it can’t be beaten.

I came here for a quick 15 minute massage and ended up upgrading mid table to 50 minutes. My massue was a God send. Working out and daily stress had me super tense, but after leaving Relax I was extra relaxed. This is a cheapy place so don’t expect luxury. But if you want a solid massage come here.

The ambiance of this small place is very relaxed, the staff is courteous and welcoming. Second time getting a massage here and it’s just wonderful. I always leave out feeling brand new. No pain no gain. Definitely will continuously visit here whenever i feel a pain lol. The hot rocks definitely work wonders as all.

You get what you pay for. Is this the cheapest massage in town? Sure. Is it the best? Definitely not. So why the high reviews on Unilocal?Perhaps the other Unilocalers care more about price than quality. My guess is that these people aren’t LMTs. They seem like foot reflexologists masquerading as back masseurs. It was a painful massage(I had to ask her to lighten up twice, to no avail), and I usually LOVE firm pressure /deep tissue. At one point, she was poking me in my throat glands. I think it made me even more tense. The ambience, as others have noted, is downright creepy. Not to mention that you can hear EVERYTHING. Every time someone enters the establishment, they interrupt whatever Zen moment you might have achieved.(Of course, it’s hard to be Zen when you’re face down trying to breathe through a layer of paper, which I assume they put there for hygienic appearances). All that said, I may go back for a foot or scalp massage, as I could see how that would be better.

Visiting from out of town I was looking for an inexpensive deep tissue massage to relieve the tension of travel. I walked in on Friday afternoon and even though the place was packed, they were able to squeeze me in. The 70 minute massage only cost $ 50 and included hot stones and reflexology.

These people are the truth. My husband and I are from California, and we were only in NYC for four days. On Saturday evening we got a Thai massage in Manhattan and it was amazing. We should have been satisfied with our massage from that appointment – and we were! However, after hoofing it around Brooklyn all day Sunday, I kept hinting about wanting my feet massaged! Well, with Unilocal, you can pretty much have whatever you like wherever you like. We were nearby, so we called and booked an appointment. We showed up at four, waited about ten minutes or so and then we were taken to the back room for the massage. Look. These men and women give no frills massages. This isn’t some hoity-toity establishment, so don’t come here with your nose in the air and your standards to the moon. I wanted my feet massaged, and by GOLLY, my feet were taken care of!!! I cannot remember the woman who massaged me, but she knocked me out. Seriously. I fell asleep, and according to my husband, I snored LOUDLY. Fifty percent of my massage was devoted to my body, and the other 50% was devoted to my feet. The lady that massaged me went to town. I like pressure and deep tissue massages, and she delivered. Whewph. I was impressed! My husband was satisfied with his experience as well. Brooklynites, do yourself a favor. Treat yo’ self at Relaxing on Smith!

This is my new favorite neighborhood spot. I came in at night around 8 — my back had been killing me and I was a mess of knots. I was ushered into a small curtained off room where I undressed and got on the table with the cover on me. Then began the best hour of my life. The masseuse I had was Anni and she was amazing. My massage had the perfect amount of pressure, and Anni very attentive to my needs. I got the hot stone massage, and I recommend you do the same(no extra charge!). The hot stones really relaxed my muscles and made it easier to get the knots out. My back feels 100% better. Also, the best part is that it’s CHEAP!

I came here on a whim, when I was in the area and had some time to kill. I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted or what I was walking into(I may or may not have had a couple brunch cocktails beforehand), but a massage sounded good. The moment I walked in, I was immediately ushered by a woman to go into a cubicle before I had even spoken a word. I paused uncertainly and she said«How long? One hour?» I asked the price, which was $ 55, and nodded. Uhmm, sure. You can’t say they aren’t efficient. There isn’t much instruction given, and very little conversation. But I’m a pro at getting massages, so it wasn’t a problem. A woman came in and after confirming the time, got right to work. Ahhhh. Super firm and deep tissue style. That’s the way I like it. She was really strong, so much that I considered asking her to ease up a bit. But then I fell asleep, so that was that. I felt much looser and relaxed afterwards. While this place won’t win any awards for décor or ambiance, it does exactly what it’s supposed to do: good massages. Sure it’s weird to be able to hear every single sound, including heavy breathing and moaning(REALLY tried not to think too much about that one). But it’s convenient, the workers are nice and do a good job, and prices are reasonable. Works for me!

Pretty disappointed by the experience. Nothing to write home about in terms of quality. What got me really disappointed is that I came in to get a deep tissue massage on my legs and back, and made it clear a few times to the masseuse. He did not touch those areas — when he said«finished!» I told him I was surprised and that I came in to have my legs worked, specifically my hamstrings. He spent a couple minutes rushing through my quads. Price was good; I guess I need to pay more, elsewhere for attentiveness?

This was my first massage experience, so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but the masseuse was nice and concerned the whole time with the intensity of the massage. I found out that I definitely should be getting more massages because of the number of knots I have in my shoulder, so I don’t think it was even possible to get rid of all of them in 30 min but she definitely did her best. The massage ended with a hot stone massage, something that I didn’t expect but was really nice. I do wish they had posted prices and times because they just asked me how long I wanted, but I didn’t know how much it would be till I went to pay. If you do have the cash to pay, they won’t charge you tax. Definitely not a high end place but the music was nice and the beds were comfortable
