Had an appointment this morning for the ZOOM! Teeth Whitening that I purchased online from Lifebooker.
I made the appointment about a week ago via the office and even received a confirmation email.
I arrived to the office this morning, 11am to find nobody was at the office. Door locked. Lights off. I called about 5 times to hear the phone ringing inside but nobody there. I then emailed the ‘emergency’ email address and got a response about an hour later. She asked me where I made the appointment because ‘the office is closed today’ and that her assistant called me to reschedule the appointment and I was on the book for tomorrow… no that phone call never happened.
I was pretty upset because I took a half day from work to have this done.
I immediately called lifebooker for a refund.

I found Dr.C.Hickey on 1 – 800 dentist.
She over charged me and charged the insurance for services she did not provide.
This was a year age and I’m still trying to recover money. Horrible experience.

Dr. Hickey and Jonathan were GREAT! I was late for my appointment and they were understanding and professional. Dr. Hickey was accommodating and took good care of my son and I. The BEST and quickest cleaning we ever had Thank you!!!

I’m sorry to have to write this review but I don’t want others to have a similar experience. I went to Dr. Hickey because she was close to my office and accepted my insurance. It had been 2 years since my last cleaning, (bad I know but fairly normal for me), and I had visible staining on my teeth. As Dr. Hickey examined me she stated that I’d need a «deep cleaning» and scaling and anesthetic injections. I said that I’d never before had the need to do so, and in fact had gone as much as 5 yrs between cleanings, (not recommending this approach but it is true). But she insisted it was necessary. It cost almost $ 200 out of pocket. At the end of my 20 minutes in the chair I still saw staining. I complained and was told that she wanted to go «easy», and I should come back in 3 weeks for additional work at no cost. I thought that was fair. I went back 3 wks later. When I got home after 2^nd «cleaning» I noticed staining still present.
Not impressed at all. I eventually found a great dentist via Groupon, and 3 months after the Hickey debacle got my teeth cleaned. Actually cleaned. No scaling, «deep cleaning», injections, or extra cost. They were sparkling, no stains. The new dentist said that based on what she saw in my mouth a mere 3.5 months later, she thinks Hickey’s work was sub-​par and she was unethical to charge what she did.
Perhaps for a whitening procedure she’d be acceptable. But I was not impressed with the cleaning.

My husband and I both used a Groupon last year for whitening. Scheduling was a nightmare… after we purchased it, there wasn’t an available appointment for months. No one ever answered the phone. When I finally went for my appointment after work, no one was there! They had forgotten I was coming and left for the day. Once I finally had my appointment, I thought the office was small but clean and cute. The equipment was new. I didn’t warm up to the dentist but the hygenist was sweet.

I came here for a cleaning using a Groupon I had purchased. The décor of the office and location is perfect. It is a very small office that creates a warm, cozy vibe. It’s too bad that my review could have been a five star.
Based on my visit, I am unsure if I will be coming back. I was hesitant to leave this review because I am an understanding individual that has knowledge of how holidays affect businesses. Businesses become overwhelmed with clientele before they leave town. Life happens — we become overbooked, run behind schedule. Needless to say, I made an appointment online (phoned first and left a message). Thank goodness I called before my commute because my appointment was cancelled. I did not receive a telephone call, email, or voicemail. I took off from work, and needed to take off a second day for my rescheduled appointment the following week on a Tuesday.
Dr. Hickey kept complaining that she did not make money from the Groupons. She told another patient that she was making money from her because she was coming back for dental work. Truth is, I am looking for a new dentist. The constant complaints about the Groupon patients continued (if you are unhappy about them, don’t offer them). The entire visit I felt like an inconvenience. I read about this in reviews online but wanted to be fair and have the experience myself. I paid $ 45 for X-​rays, dental exam, and cleaning (great price! Right? I paid for what I got). My X-​rays should have been done before the cleaning (they were not — I had to ask for my X-​rays because I wanted a follow up from my dental work 8 months ago). My cleaning was not thorough (I still have plaque on a lot of my teeth). Dr. Hickey would have done an excellent job if she did not rush my appointment (my last cleaning at another dental office using a groupon I was there for an hour because she was so thorough). Her assistant brushed my teeth (terrible job – she did not even brush my back teeth). When you feel plaque on your teeth 10 minutes after a cleaning, that’s not good.
Again, I understand life gets busy. I was a client, and regardless of what I spent, I should have not been rushed the way I was. Dr. Hickey did apologize several times (have to give her that) but it does not take back the poor service. I would have come back (because I’m a nice person) but this was already my rescheduled appointment. I would have rather have paid an extra $ 50 and went to another dental office. I am going to have to do that again anyway now for a thorough cleaning. I go for cleanings regularly every 6 – 8 months so it’s not like I have not had a cleaning in ten years (like most NY). I am extremely disappointed and saddened.

Dr. Hickey is friendly an down to earth. The cleaning was painless and very thorough. The office is beautiful and clean. The subway are nearby. It’s very convenient. I’ll be back!

The worst dentist ever! Teeth cleaning usually never hurt, not in Dr Hickey’s case. I would NOT recommend this dentist (not even for whitening) to anyone.

I had a Groupon to get my teeth whitened. I went today and I am so happy with the results. It look a little less than an hour for the whole procedure and I actually almost fell asleep despite having a cotton packed, stretched mouth.
The office is cute and both Dr. Hickey and Marlene (sorry if I got the name wrong!!) were so down to earth and pleasant. I would recommend the whitening treatment to anyone that wants to be fabulous :)

I just got my teeth whitened at Remsen St Dental.
My experience was great! In office teeth whitening is a tedious hour of your life, but the results are awesome!!!
I had this done a year ago somewhere else and was not happy with the results. Remsen st dental renewed my beleif in teeth whitening.
Also the office is cute and they have a great vibe. Super chill, super pro and super results.
I’m going back for a cleaning asap.
