The Salty Dog Bar is located in Bay Ridge Brooklyn, easily reachable by train or bus. The Salty Dog is a full service restaurant and bar in a firehouse setting, with a vintage firetruck displayed inside.

We service all your entertainment needs with LIVE MUSIC on Thursdays @ 10pm, Karaōke on Wednesdays, DJ Friday through Sunday, Weekly promotions with giveaways, 2 Giant Screen and 14 Flat Screen TV’s showing all sporting events including the NFL TICKET.

We carry a full line of clothing, featuring work shirts, sweatshirts, golf shirts, long and short sleeve tees and a variety of baseball caps, tote bags, calendars, even baby items.

We are proud to introduce for the first time in Brooklyn, The Kilkenny Irish Beer Chilling System. This state of the art system delivers Ice Cold tap beer to all our 20 domestic and imported lines.

Our Menu, offers a wide variety of items, including wonderful daily specials. Free delivery 7 days a week 5pm — 10:30 pm.

I wrote a review and they took it down being that it didn’t appear I was a firsthand customer.
JUST FOR THE RECORD I DID STEP FOOT IN SALTY DOG.
All they have here is wannabe Jersey Shore fist pumping losers with their fake tans & arrogant attitudes.
This place is as racist as they come. If you are a shade darker then vanilla bean, (fake tans don’t count) somehow the age limit goes to 23 or whatever number they decide to say. Maybe the darker, the higher the number.
This place is a disgrace & should be closed.

I will never order from here again. The food took almost 2 hours to be delivered. Once it finally did arrive, everything was cold and one of the bags was leaking and needless to say, I now have a stained couch. I’ve ordered from here once before and was dissatisfied with that experience as well, because that food was also cold. If I could give zero stars, I would.

This place has a pretty good wait staff always very friendly and welcoming, diverse food choices for a bar — wings are very good, burgers chicken sandwhich with guac, steak and cheese etc
mediocre prices and sometimes phenomenal specials like 3 dollar sam adams on foot ball sunday and free bottles of coors for a promotion. they deliver locally which is useful .
However it is bizarre how low life the crowd on sunday are. Bensonhurst trash. I love football but not with these jokes.

Until there is another spot in bayridge that plays music to dance to, salty dog gets 3 stars. If it wasn’t for the dj this place would get a one star. Forget for a second the trashy Bensonhurst hoodlums that frequent the joint and the old middle aged white man. The bartenders drink on the job, the bouncer is rude. Very unwelcoming atmosphere. Exactly what you would expect from a salty dog.

One of the best afternoon or evening gathering places in Bay Ridge if not in al, of Brooklyn. Good food, good drinks at nice prices and fine service. Our group gathers there for afternoon Rangers games row or three times. A year and we are always seated quickly and easily, whether we re 10, 20 or more.

New to the area and my boyfriend and I were looking for a cool spot to watch sports. The ambiance has an old firehouse feel which is pretty cool and it’s a pretty good size.
For a sports bar, I was impressed with the food. Each meal we have had has been impressively good. We’ve had the wings, grilled veggie wrap, sweet potato fries (so good), linguini (i’m sure there are others but I forgot). So far, and hopefully the only order we had that was disappointing, was the spinach artichoke dip. To me, it was just a bowl of cheese. I felt like I was eating a heart attack. This won’t stop me from going there, though.
If you are going to eat and watch a game, make sure you get there early so you can get a seat at a table. There is never a bad spot to watch TV because there are screens everywhere!
Love this spot. Officially our go-​to spot for the games.

I wish I could write about a recent experience, however, when trying to come here on Halloween, a friend I was with was turned down entry because he had «sweat pants» on which happened to be a part of his costume.
Sadly, this left a bad taste in my mouth because immediately after we were turned down, we saw another white patron entering with no problem. And guess what? That patron was wearing sweat pants.
Can you guess what race my friend was? Not white.

This review is based on the food
I’ve eaten here numerous times now and It’s been pretty good every time. I honestly had low expectations coming here since I’ve known of SD for years, but more so as a bar then a restaurant. I was wrong. Their burgers/​roast beef/​steak sandwiches/​and buffalo wings have all been on point. I did have one mediocre meal here once and that was the grilled chicken sandwich (avoid).
They always seem to have beer specials when I go for lunch ($ 3 a pint) and food specials as well. The service is OK. No complaints.
All in all, a solid place to watch the game and have some pub food.

I ordered delivery from this place based on a recommendation from a friend, and I went with the rigatoni with grilled chicken and spinach dish. I specifically requested the pasta is cooked al-​dente, and that they add cherry tomatoes in the dish if available.
What was delivered was a huge bowl of overcooked rigatoni, dull looking spinach in the center with something that looked like crumbled feta, which turned out being the grilled chicken. They also chopped up some tomato and added it as a side — thank you for effort, but any chef with any experience with pasta dishes would have understood what I meant with adding cherry tomatoes.
Beyond pathetic dish, I am still not understanding the tiny piece of meat, not tasty at all and stopped eating after a few bites of rigatoni. I would not recommend anyone to order any of their pasta dishes — cannot speak to anything else on their menu.

Great place for some food and drinks… Not for great service. The food was good, it came out very quickly and correct. The portions were pretty big. I was hoping that there would have been some signature drinks for such a themed restaurant but they did not have any, so we stuck with beer. The waitresses were pretty bad. They were too busy texting and gossiping to check on us. Overall I would try it again and hope that there are some better servers.

This is a great place to bring a group of all different ages — it’s more of a neighborhood family pub than a bar. The truck inside the restaurant was a hit with my nephew, and the nachos were a hit with me. Service can be a bit slow, but it’s very friendly. Stick with bar food (wings, nachos, etc) and you can’t really go wrong. TVs everywhere if you’re a sports type of person.

John one of the owners went out of his way to correct the situation which I appreciate. I was invited back to have dinner and drinks with my family and like the many other times I’ve been there the food was very good as well as the drinks. It was unfortunate what happened and extremely upsetting but the bouncer that was so blatantly racist was fired immediately. I had a sour taste in my mouth for a while because I had never experienced anything like that but forgiveness is one of the most powerful acts one can choose. It may have took me a while but all is forgiven. I have never been treated poorly by the bartenders inside. Matter of fact there’s one gentlemen who bartends with glasses who always took care of me wish I remembered his name. I’ve had great times in this bar with friends and would have no problem going back now. Cheers.

Don’t think I’ll be coming back here in a hurry.
Don’t get me wrong, the staff were very nice and there was no problem on that side. The other customers, well that’s a different story.
I’m not sure if i came too late, but the crowd consisted of guys who look like they enjoy a steroid smoothie for breakfast, and the ladies look an episode of the real housewives of Staten Island.
Not pleasant.

Once again I must update my review. As seen in my previous post I frequented Salty Dog often until an unfortunate incident happened between a very good friend of mine and a bouncer that WAS employed at Salty Dog. After the owners and management heard about this incident they were kind enough to hear us out and terminate the bouncer. Im comforted to know that the owners and staff at Salty Dog are NOT racist and have zero tolerance for their employees to behave in any such manor. The owner invited us back to Salty Dog for drinks and dinner on them. We had a lovely dinner with John the owners brother and Kelly the manager. I will now vouch for Salty Dog again as a go to spot and I commend the staff at Salty Dog for taking immediate action. Thank you!
