I use to come here when I was a teenage. It was like a hang out place for me after school… Loved the seating it’s never packed… so I get to enjoy my brunch peacefully… The people are not as attentive as they should be… What I usually order is a honey dew shake with tapioca pair with any desserts I was feeling that day… or if I’m extremely hunger a bun… There desserts and buns are so so… Not as good as dragon bay bakery which is located in the same block… Only reason I come here often is because its more quite and less people coming in and out of the bakery… They upgraded there prices every year and male the portion smaller which makes me of want to purchase there products anymore… They have summer promotion for cold slush drinks… If you have student id take that with u when you come here drinks are half price… Defiant save a few bucks there!

I wouldn’t exactly recommend coming here unless you’re in the neighborhood. Like any cafes in Borough Park(better known as 8 ave in Brooklyn’s Chinatown), it’s a pretty bad experience in the morning. I passed by three cafés before coming to this one because it actually had some seats(and by that I mean like two, for me and my mom at adjacent tables, not even the same one). Most cafés from opening time until noon will be filled with elderly men reading newspapers and sipping their coffees. Of course, I can’t let this place down completely. It did offer a great selection of buns– even a lady to help get them for you. They did have the time they were baked(830) and when they would be retired(1130), so rest assured, my food was fresh. But it really did taste like any other café food, so, nothing really great there. They did have a good selection of other stuff like bread and some cakes and such– about a whole wall plus a table. Very good selection, very fast staff. Coffees and milk tea(for those of us who don’t drink coffee) were cheap, as is any, and tasted well made, as is any. I mean how hard is it to mess up a coffee… The only thing that I didn’t like I guess were the lack of seats– but that’s what you get when you come in at 10 in the morning. It’s also a small café, but still a lot of walking room, but at least it had some seats, unlike the others I had went to in the higher number streets as I was making my way down to the N train– which is relatively close. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here again, especially because there are a ton of Chinese bakeries and cafés by my house, but you can’t really beat their huge and fresh selections and of course, their prices.

Who cares about the decorations, the smell the crowdedness and light. This is not a hotel. You get your food you bounce out but overall pineapple bun is good with milktea

The food is great. The ladies are friendly. This is the bakery for my mornings(if it is not crowded). Please note this bakery is also called I BAKERY inc. instead of Savoy Bakery.

My favorite bakery in NYC! When I lived off 45th I would walk here every morning to get a bubble tea or horlicks, and a fantastic little pastry before jumping on the N line. I live on the West Coast now and not a day goes by where I don’t miss this incredible little Brooklyn gem.

Awesome baked chinese goods. Pork buns, scallion buns, fish sandwiches, you name it they got it for a buck or two. Great coffee and cold drinks too!

The Bad — Crowded at times The Good — Pineapple bun — Pork bun — Shredded pork bun — Smoothies and drinks(50 cents off I think during summer) The Bottomline– Typical bakery. Love their cakes though. They have many choices to choose from but my heart still goes to Dragon Bay Bakery.

Coming out of dim sum at Pacificana, I was already stuffed. But walking by Savoy Bakery, and looking at the display in the window, I just had to get the hot dog in a bun. Yes, pigs in a blanket as it were. Combine it with a cold can of Sprite and there is no better meal in the world. Except for Spam, eggs and fried rice for breakfast, of course. I also bought a few rolls, which tasted even better the next day coming out of the toaster oven. And the best thing about these bakeries is that it is never expensive. I believe it was 3 Pigs in a Blanket for $ 2? I’ll confirm next time I’m there, which from the looks of it will be this coming Sunday. I mean what?

I love this spot I used to live on 8th Ave and 60th for about 3 years and I always came here for this coconut rice bun with a peanut sauce filling :) The coffee was not too bad at all. I actually miss the place at times when I see people getting on the train with the savoy coffee cups.

Bad décor, bad lighting, and the price of a cup of horlick went up $ 1 in 2 minutes! A Fruit tart went up 50 cents? If the prices go up, change the menu. F$(#@($(@#!! I THOUGHTTHISWAS A RECESSION?!

First of all, the place looks cheap and run down. 2nd of all I asked for a cup of horlick, the menu clearly says it’s 80 cents. But the lady asks me for 1.25, I ask her why and that the MENU says it’s 80cents. She tells me that they changed it and argued that it’s 1.25 now. 2nd of all, I ask to buy a fruit tart and she says it’s 1.35. But when I pay she says it’s 1.75. Either I heard wrong or she’s jipping me off. I’d rather take my money and go to Dragon Bakery instead. Reason why they got the one star is only because the fruit tart wasn’t bad, otherwise I’d say no stars.

Brooklyn Chinatown is full of great bakeries, but few are better than Savoy with a plethora of buns, cakes, and drinks for prices cheaper than most Manhattan bakeries. I’ve come here for their large window display cakes in the past and I’ve been satisfied with each and every one. They’ll do custom decorations upon special request and there was no hassles about having them do it on the spot without reserving it ahead of time. Even though its Brooklyn, there is little to no parking for this place. Parking on the street is nearly impossible on 8th Avenue, try for the side streets instead. And finally, coming here with a Chinese speaking person is not a requirement, but it’ll likely make the experience 1000x easier.
