One of the worst Spanish restaurants I tried I order Chicharones de pollo and get regular, Chinese style fried chicken. I ask for beans on a side –and rice mixed with beans is delivered. I ordered chicharones and fried pork that was, at least re-heated 3 times, old and burned is delivered. They won’t fool me again.

I come here all the time. I’ve ordered the chicken stew, oxtail stew, pork stew, ribs, roast chicken, pernil, fried pork, rice and beans. Everything is great and affordable with great portions. It’s close by my house and this I where I go all the time if I want Spanish food. Need I say anymore?!

Ever crave ribs so burnt they’re inedible? That’s what they’re selling here at Sazon Perez. My ribs were all fat, and the actual meat was black! I called to tell them I couldn’t eat my burnt to a crisp ribs, and her response? Lol«that’s how ribs are when cooked in the oven». And she gave me the«oh well» attitude. Well damn, I guess it’s my fault. Seriously? This is ridiculous. Her response was worse than coming home, starving and finding I can’t even eat the food I bought. No no no, never coming back. I’d rather heat up some ramen noodles.

This place turned out to be a nice find. Don’t have very high expectations as you will likely be let down. This is an affordable lunch option with good portion sizes and pretty darn good tasting food. I have had the chicken and goat meat lunch specials– both exceeded my expectations based on value and quality. Service is quick service and seating can be difficult during lunch time… but I’ve been lucky. Latin music will be playing. A nice little bonus is that the lunch specials come with a side salad… so you can feel a little better about yourself :-).

Holy moly what a find! Tasty authentic food at an unbeatable price… Not just for this area but for anywhere in the U.S. the prices are unbeatable. I got about a half pound of roast pork(with lovely crackly skin bits in there) and another half pound of red beans and rice for seven dollars!!! Family owned, tons of options, you’ve gotta check it out.

I’m so glad I stumbled into this place and decided to give it a chance, because Sazon Perez is a hidden gem of hidden gems! Located in south Williamsburg off of Broadway, this family owned restaurant serves up some of the most authentic and delicious Latin American cuisine around. Don’t let the unassuming exterior fool you; this place is the real deal. The inside is rustically simple, containing just a few tables and a serving station. The food, stored under heat lamps and within metal pans may seem of dubious quality, is actually very good. The relaxing music playing in the background, usually of some classic Italian ballad, makes for a very laid back environment. Diners can choose between a $ 4.50 «small» box or a $ 6.50 big box. Trust me and go with the small. It’ll be more than enough food. You are provided with a handful of protein options — from shredded pork, roast chicken to beef stew — and your choice of rice and beans. You can also get additional sides like their $ 1 plantains(highly, highly recommended!). Having tried their beef stew and shredded pork, I can honestly say that you can’t go wrong with either. To wash everything down, grab one of their $ 2 domestic beers, sit back, and enjoy one of the most satisfying and affordable meals you will ever have!

Try the pernil, my fav with a side of rice w/avocado salad. They also have Dominican cake & Tres leche if you want to end your meal with something sweet.

This is my favorite restaurant in Williamsburg because the food is so, so good and the prices can’t be beat. — I moved to the neighborhood over 10 years ago and have been going here ever since. –My favorite things to order are the pernil*(roast pork), the rotisserie chicken and the stewed meats over rice. I usually get beef stew or salmon over rice and beans, but be adventurous and try different things — everything I’ve tried is good, including the pig’s ears. Getting a rotisserie chicken to go is also an awesome dinner and feeds 2 – 3 people. –For about 4 bucks you can get a «small,» which is pretty big. It’s a tin container full of rice and beans and topped with meat. For 2 or 3 dollars more you can get a large which is really large. They always fill it up so much they have to wrap it in tin foil so it doesn’t spill out. — Don’t be scared! Although most people will be speaking spanish inside, everyone who works there speaks english. –A year or 2 ago they got some seating in there so you can eat there too. A lot of people I know who live in this neighborhood have walked by and didn’t even know this place existed. Most have never gone in. It is really popular with the locals and I suggest you try it asap. *I’ve found the pernil is better at lunch and I don’t suggest ordering it for dinner. They make one every day, and I would stop by around 11 or 12 and get rice, beans and pernil. Make sure they give you a healthy portion of the bright red skin, which is one of the most delicious foods on earth.

not a typical restaurant for dining but we made do. with 6 of us trekking to this spot, we knew we were about to feast. the damn prices are unreal(superrrrrrr cheap), which I dig cuz i feel ilke they’re really looking out for their loyal customers and the hard-working class, as the hood in itself has changed ten fold. The porkchops man and rice with pigeon peas, i can eat that everyday. and for $ 5.50(small dish-which for one person, is perfect)…i’ll make sure to detour to south 4th and union when BQE gets slammed by traffic and i gotta go local… some of the customers or non-customers however, likes to linger around and act coocoo… but that mini distraction shouldn’t stop anybody from geting a good deal –good grub on.

Delicious food! Best lunch special around– meal, bottled water, salad for $ 5.50 I work by Sazon Perez, so I’ve eaten lunch from here several times. I love their oxtail stew. It’s always delicious and well cooked. I usually order the oxtail or the rotisserie or baked/fried chicken. Whatever I get, it always hits the spot.
