Schwartz Appetizing

I am a sucker for herring and this is the best place to get authentic herring and dips. It makes me a little cray though that they pioneered some of the flavors and then every appetizing store on earth and even grocery chain tried to copy them. Not cool. Anyway, if you are a fan of healthy food and Jewish-​y food and fresh food (no preservatives) then you should check out Schwartz’s. Also, I think they have other stores in Brooklyn and Long Island but am not sure. One more thing, all the PBS shows have the same family run business or two featured all the time. If you love Russ & Daughters on the Lower East Side or if you can’t get to Zabar’s, you should really try Schwartz’s. Tiny by comparison, but very excellent food overall.

Its all about the Herring here. Any kind you can think of Schwartz makes it. Also try their Parve Appetizing, various Lox’s and soups.
