I was driving by and decided to stop in. Wasn’t disappointed. I love to support Black owned Businesses(which I think Shane’s is from the ambiance) and I was pleasantly welcomed with opened arms. Service was on point! The food was great. I had the Belgian waffle & beef sausage. My date hate the steak & eggs. We both ate everything so fast I didn’t have time to take a decent picture. I’ll definitely be back & bringing friends! Thank you Shane’s for an amazing experience.

Shane’s is a nice café in a great location very quiet neighborhood. The workers are pleasant and try to accommodate your every need. I ordered the grilled shrimp and cheese grits it was delicious!!! The food was seasoned just right. The prices are decent so that’s a good thing… the strawberry lemonade was definitely a thirst quencher!!!

I have dined here throughout the years with positive experiences. Thats why I suggested to dine here today. Service very good food is delish but the portions are very light. I had brunch mushroom goat cheese omelet salad and home fries. No bread offered and based on the portion they used one potato for the home fries. I drank water & had a grapefruit mimosa. My water was not refilled. In my opinion I should not leave a restaurant still hungry if I ordered & ate an entrée. Not coming back soon.

5 stars for service! It’s so refreshing to interact with friendly and helpful people. Eggs Florentine was delicious, good quality food and good quality coffee.

I want to say that I did not eat at Shanes so this is no reflection on the food which might be wonderful. I did however go to a private function there and watched who I believe was the manager stomp around for hours and not smile and reflected the worst energy ever. Regardless what is going on with the party you would think that at the very least the manager would put on a good face for customer service purposes. This was not the case at Shane’s sadly. She walked around giving everybody dirty looks & huffing at everything. If you’re going to be so awful during private functions then maybe you shouldn’t rent the space out.

My review is only for waffles and fried Chicken. O.M.G… I HEART their fried chicken so MUCH! I don’t know if it’s the best fried chicken of my life but it’s definitely top 3!

I’m so sorry but I will not be back here. The waitress Tiffany M was HORRIBLE. She was not friendly at all! She look like she had an attitude and didn’t want to be at work. I waited a whole hour for my food and I had my kids with me. She took long with everything and it was very unacceptable. The manager really need to get rid of her

Solid breakfast place. Chicken and waffles are always good. For a total gluttonous feast I have the cinnamon donut waffle. I’ve had their fish and grits, and it was prepared well, just not my thing. Their potatoes are cooked perfectly and sit with bacon and eggs as a tasty classic. Like most NYC diners, their coffee is barely drinkable.

Great ambiance, excellent food. Staff was attentive and we never had to wait long. Also a black owned eatery so we came back again. Will continue to be a patron and recommend others to come as well. The chicken and waffles were excellent.

Man listen! I went there for brunch and had the chicken and cinnamon fried waffles with a side of potatoes and grilled onions… flat out amazing! They have a friendly and welcoming staff! The ambiance is nice and they had old Soul Train Awards showing on the TV. I highly recommend anyone stopping by and checking this gem on Washington Ave out!

This place used to be great. My aunt was visiting so I decided to bring her here to see if it was still as great as I remembered. The waiting for your food was still the same(which I don’t mind) but I waited only to be served food with a hair in it. Like in there… felt a shiver of disgust travel through my body. This occurrence is understandable as it can happen when eating out. However, I am writing this review because when we asked if they wear hair nets we were told that they do but there’s only one person it could have come from(because of the color) who actually didn’t have one on. Also, they didn’t handle the situation in a professional manner. Meal was still on bill eventhough I returned it and there were no apologies. Have never returned and I definitely told all my peeps not to eat there anymore.

I had the chicken and waffles and a strawberry lemonade. The chicken was well seasoned and so crispy and tasty. The waffles had a nice lightly sweetened flavor even without syrup. The strawberry lemonade was great, not too sweet. I would definitely come back here again.

I’ve been eating here for a few years now. I enjoy dine in and take out from time to time. The staff has always been courteous and accommodating. The food is always great! My favorites are pancakes, French toast and home fries. The home fries are like none I’ve ever tasted absolutely delicious!

My best friend invited me to this spot since their obsessed with the food for brunch. When I went I had their chicken and waffles with home fries. My first time having home fries and it was so delicious. The chicken and waffles were good, I’ve had better. Someone at the table next to me ordered banana pancakes, which smelt so good, it made me want to change my order but I didn’t since I really did want to try their chicken & waffles. My waitress was very friendly, as well as the other staff. The place is small, I would of liked if it was more spacious. However, the food is good and I will definitely return for brunch.

I use Unilocal before making all of my food choices, but I didn’t see this place on the app so I almost walked by. I’m so glad I didn’t. This place is a real gem. The food is spectacular, the service is second to none and the ambience is soothing and exciting at the same time(they play live reggae videos). I was also told they recently renovated and it’s beautiful inside. I ordered the whiting and cheese grits with a side of fresh fruit. The portions were huge for the price and everything was tasty and perfectly flavored(the grits could’ve used a little more salt for my liking, but I understand not everyone likes the same amount). I had to force myself to finish at least half because who wants to take home cold fish or grits? Lol. I’ll definitely be back to try the chicken and waffles and all their famous strawberry lemonade. Glad I stopped by!

I’m always on the hunt for a great Sunday brunch spot, so a friend said let’s try Shane’s this Sunday, I opted to. Walking in, this place is very small and cozy feeling. We were promptly seated, and drink orders taken. In all my searches for a good brunch place, this place probably has the best mimosas. Though they were served in the typical champagne glass, and aren’t as large as other places, the strawberry mimosa here was divine. Food– the chicken and waffles, wow. It’s a contest between here and Sweet Chick for who has a better chicken and waffles. But the cinnamon donut waffle here, almost tips the scale. The entire meal was divine. All I can say is everyone should come try the brunch here at some point, it was really one of the best places I’ve ever tried.

You know, I liked it here. Service was really good, our waiter was very nice, attentive, and personable. I didn’t catch his name, but he suggested dark meat for my boyfriend’s chicken and waffles so dude who loves his dark meat, great job! The food also was yummy, and for the most part southerner style delights. They had chicken sandwiches which I would have loved to have enjoyed, but I had a photoshoot later that day so I stuck to sautéed spinach, mango juice, and champagne… Which was good. Kid had mac and cheese which I nibbled on and thought was delightful. It was a good smaller portion Cuz honestly how much cholesterol can you take in at once??? Well, I guess a lot. Nevermind. Don’t answer that. Last but not least, ummm… Soul Train. They played endless episodes of Soul Train in the 70s. We watched the Jackson 5, Tina Turner, and the Temptations.

Wonder into Shane(formerly called Café Shane) in pursuit of salad. Shane’s had about 7 salads to choose from which was great because all the other restaurants in a three block radius didn’t have any salads or they are like $ 20. Aint no nobby paying $ 20 for some lettuce. I ordered the Shane salad. Simple and delicious. I’m typically not a fan of iceburg lettuce but it was a refreshing change. Topped with feta, cucumber, tomato, and onion — basically a Greek salad — with olive oil dressing. Light and didn’t leave me with that man im stuffed feeling. Which I actually don’t mind, but on a hot summer days there nothing worse than being uncomfortable. Shane’s also has great selection for brunch. Waffles, pancakes, egg, etc. I’ll def be back when I am in the area.

Came here with a friend for brunch. Friendly service and the place has a personal vibe to it. It’s on the smaller side but so are many spots in New York. Food was good and mimosas were good as well. Wouldn’t mind going back
