I’ve had this place bookmarked for years and finally stopped in this past week. The ice creams are amazing! They also serve food, but we were just there for dessert. The flavors reminded me of Chinatown ice cream factory: black sesame, miso almond, mangosteen, etc etc. But the major bonus is that they don’t limit the number of samples you take! Which is key when there are so many unique flavors. Will definitely be back. $ 3.75 for a single serving, $ 4.50 for the same size but with 2 flavors. I’d pay up the $ 0.75 for the variety. Definitely coming back!

If you’re stuck on choosing an ice cream flavor and want to try everything, you came to the right place. I came with four other friends, and we decided to share the ice cream sampler, you get to pick and choose 12 flavors. This place is so unique, and does not joke around with their flavors. The lychee rose was my personal favorite. I would definitely recommend coming here for dessert with friends. My friends and I personally tried one flavor at a time, and rated each one. It was really fun seeing how different/similar our tastes are.

Small place with a few tables very casual. Water served in plastic cups and food in paper products, but real utensils. Thai food was pretty decent. Had the slow cook tender beef forgot the name but it was delicious. Larb chicken was tasty spicy. Kids had sticky rice and beef special. Ended with 5 scoop icecream/sorbet sampler. Mango sorbet was so delicious. Need to go back for more of that! Loved the Thai coffee icecream also. Yum go try it.

That SkyIce Ice-cream Palette is a beauty just like a painter’s! We get to pick and choose 12 different flavors of ice-cream and sorbet. It is a great sampler for the ice-cream that they have to offer. My favorites of the batch include: Mango Sorbet(the best!), Lychee Rose Sorbet, Mango Ice-cream, and Mangosteen Sorbet. I would avoid the following: Black Sesame Seaweed and White Miso Almond. Yes, very exotic flavors that I wished that I did not try. We also shared the Mango Sorbet and Warm Sweet Coconut Sticky Rice dessert. Mango Sorbet is amazingly good as always. The coconut sticky rice was really sweet(not what I’m used to when it comes to rice) but it worked with the Mango Sorbet! A really cute little spot and I’m glad we found it!

I have been here twice for their thai ice cream. I tried the sorbets but they were not my favorite. However, the ice cream was pretty good but some of the flavors tasted a bit strange. Some of the flavors I tried were: The sesame seaweed: ehhh. was pretty salty and had a strange taste. Green Tea: was good. Caramel sea salt: it was alright, not salty enough Thai coffee: tastes good, exactly like thai coffee Durian: only if you are a durian lover, you will love this! Belgian chocolate brownie: chocolate always tastes good Mango: tastes regular, exactly like mango Thai tea: was good and very similar to the actual thai tea It is worth the try! I wish I could recall all the flavors I tried when I had the sampler. But overall, the thai ice cream was very good. The staff was very nice and the decorations were pretty adorable and ancient.

First time at Skyice and I have to say it doesn’t really look like a ice cream shop nor a restaurant. you order up front but you dine-in !? They also have Thai food there as well but had came for the ice cream. I ordered the Skyice sampler(you get to pick 5 flavors of your choice) and picked coconut pineapple, black sesame seaweed, roasted thai coconut, ginger honey and lychee rose. My favorite flavor would have to be the lychee rose sorbet and my BF’s favorite was roasted thai coconut. We both agree that the black sesame seaweed was our least favorite. You can ask to sample first before ordering!

SkyIce is the place I go to when I say to my friends, «Lets do lunch!» but really I mean, «I want dessert but I need someone with me so no one judges me for eating 5 scoops of ice cream!» If i could give Skyice 10 stars purely on their ice cream, I would, because there’s crack in it. Every single one of these flavors are bomb dot com, and none are like the others. My favorites are the mangosteen, mango ice cream, lychee rose, and thai iced tea – let’s be honest though, you’re going to try all of them, because they have adorable 5 – 12 scoop options that you’re GONNA get. Also, if you’re looking to throw a wrench into this – try their pumpkin cheesecake dessert. It comes in a real, edible pumpkin! It also tasted light and fresh – perfect for those who don’t want to partake in the communal sharing of ice cream with friends(But why would you want to be one of those people? Don’t be that guy. But if you already are, get the pumpkin). Besides the ice cream, the lunch special is not bad either. I had the massaman curry with the chicken curry puffs. The curry was nice and hearty, and the chicken puff, I could easily eat 5 of. I recommend the Tom Yum soup because the coconut milk one was a little too overwhelming. Otherwise – great place for a nice lunch!

Disappointing lack of chocolate Sorry Sky Ice, but this just didn’t hit the mark… it was creamy enough for a non-dairy scoop, but just lacked the overwhelming chocolate taste sensation one expects with a dark chocolate offering. Respect to the dairy-free offering though, for all our lactose-intolerant friends. And nice to have a booze-free hangout for dry days… Check out my chocolate blog: Insta: @chocolateandthecity

Tom yam soup is ok, but very small, pineapple fried rice is disappointed, the rice is not fresh and it’s not fried, like a unfresh steam rice with something cheap ingredients and taste bad.

I had such a great experience here last time, that it really disappoints me to write this update. I decided to try something different and ordered the lemongrass rice and bowl of soup. My daughter ordered the same with a different variety of soup. All the food came out room temp except for the salmon that we ordered for over the rice. One soup was like drinking milk with vegetables in it. not even a drop of salt or an herb. So disgustingly bland. The other soup was like water with hot sauce. Needless to say no one ate the soup. The rice was about the same. The expected lemongrass flavor was completely missing. Again, a cool and bland dish. We were the only people in the place and yet the staff just talked to each or looked at their phones and when I complained about the lack of flavor I was told I was wrong. I think the difference between the two visits was the presence or lack of, the owner. No one really cared about the food or service without him there. So disappointed!

I came here for lunch with a friend and ordered the Curry Chicken Puff for my appetizer and Pad See Yue for my entrée. It was delicious! The curry chicken puffs were flaky on the outside and moist on the inside. My entrée was sweet and very flavorful. I had the 5 flavor ice cream sampler and it was some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had. I will definitely be back to try the other flavors! Highly recommended!

I’ve been here three times. And sadly, the first time, they ran out of ice cream. This was the entire reason for my visit, but as my friend and I traveled a bit to get here, we stuck around for the food. It was nothing special, but wasn’t absolutely horrible, so I left feeling slightly disappointed about the lack of ice cream and indifferent about the food. After that experience, however, things got much better. I was determined to try their SkyIce Palette and its regular appearance on my IG feed kept reminding me to revisit. Once I moved to Brooklyn and was closer, I made it a point to revisit and try it. So my friend and I stopped by on our way to a different event nearby and(whew!) they still had ice cream. We were given a slip of laminated paper and a marker to mark which flavors we wanted to try and five minutes later, the Palette arrived. After quickly taking some photos,(and not even trying to be subtle about it), we dug in. Oh my god. It was so good. Or at least, about 8 out of the 12 were good. The others were plain or average. However, I loved the other flavors enough that the others were a non-issue(tip: skip the mangosteen). Thai Iced Tea is a must-try. The Thai Coffee one was alright. I love coffee, but it wasn’t for me. Durian was great, just for its novelty and the fact that it definitely had the strong durian taste, but obviously, this isn’t a flavor for everyone. All-in-all, not bad at all! The last time I visited, I was unaware of their opening hours. A group of us were having lunch a few blocks down and I suggested stopping by since I was craving that Thai Iced Tea ice cream of theirs. We arrived to a little girl opening the door for us and letting us in while letting us know that they were technically not open yet, but then the owner, who I assume is the little girl’s family, said that they have ice cream, but none of the food would be ready until they open at 4pm. She welcomed us warmly when we mentioned we only wanted to try the ice cream and she went right to work, scooping out some for us to try. We didn’t want to intrude, but it was cold out and didn’t want to wander while eating ice cream and asked if we could sit while we ate and she made us feel right at home. The service is what brought this to 5 stars from the 4 that I originally would have given, given the variety of quality in food/ice cream.

This place gave me a vintage modernize feel to it. They had pretty good service and many different flavors to ice cream! The good: Thai tea — tastes just like Thai tea! Black sesame seaweed — strong black sesame taste with a hint of saltiness of seaweed Mango ice cream — simply love the creaminess of the mango Durian — didn’t expected this to be good but it was! Must give it a try! Belgian chocolate brownie — a classic you won’t go wrong Mango sorbet — strong mango taste Lychee rose — 2nd good sorbet after the mango. The meh: White miso almonds — wasn’t great, too salty for me Roasted Thai coconut — tasted nothing like coconut. Had a vanilla bean taste and kinda on the salty side too Green tea — I tasted better The bad: Cucumber lime — simply horrible Mangosteen — hardly any mangosteen taste

The ice cream palette is all over IG so naturally being the curious foodie that I am, I had to try it! The store itself is a cute place where I can see people bringing a date to, but even though it serves Thai food, it doesn’t have a restaurant feel, more like a café vibe. Anyways as for the food(in particular the ice cream as I didn’t have anything else), there are some unique and interesting flavors but nothing spectacular. I had the palette of course, which has 12 different flavor choices and is perfect for sharing. The stand out flavors(and by «stand out» I don’t mean great, I mean unique) that I had were honey ginger, raspberry lime, Thai toasted coconut, honey drop lemonade, and I guess you could count banana Nutella as one but that tastes exactly as is sounds. I asked for the black sesame seaweed but they messed up the order and I didn’t want to bother fixing it as it was close to their closing time. They also ran out of the cucumber lime sorbet that I wanted to try. The other flavors I had was dark chocolate sorbet, green tea, Thai tea, sea salt caramel, and they gave me vanilla(ugh seriously?), and some other coffee chocolate flavor. Note of caution: that honey ginger will kick you right in the throat! Great for people who like ginger bad for people who don’t.

I was so upset that they ran out of ice cream! They only had 3 flavors left. What?!? It’s summer time! So we ordered the mango sticky rice. The mangoes were not sweet. I will come back to try their ice cream though.

Their ice cream sampler is all over Instagram and being the curious person that I am — I had to try it! Sadly, it did not leave me much to write home about. This review is solely for desserts: My partner and I got 2 desserts to share: ice cream palette and the snow storm. First, let’s talk about the snow storm — it doesn’t seem like many people order it but I thought it was pretty delicious. It consists of a warm chocolate brownie-like cake with a scoop of green tea, Thai tea and Thai coffee ice cream(don’t forget the whip cream!). The cake was softer and much lighter than I though, which I appreciated. Now, we’ll talk about the infamous ice cream palette. We get to taste 12 of the rotating flavors of ice cream they had — some were delicious and some were a miss. The goods: Honey ginger — stood out from the others. The balance between the spice of the ginger and sweetness of the honey was very well done Belgium chocolate brownie — dark chocolate taste. Can’t go wrong with a classic Sea salt caramel — DELICIOUS! there was a bit more sea salt taste in comparison to other places that do it and it really made a difference Black sesame seaweed — different and delicious. It had a bit of saltiness added to the toasted sesame flavor. Thai tea — tasted just like the tea itself Thai coffee — just like the tea, tasted like the coffee itself Banana Nutella — tasted just like it sounded and since I like both bananas and Nutella, it was pretty sweet. Raspberry cilantro — good but not great. The cilantro was a bit overpowering The not so good: Lychee rose — didn’t have much of the lychee taste(or any taste) White miso almond — quite honestly can’t remember how it tasted like but definitely didn’t stand out Mangosteen — not very memorable as well Roasted Thai coconut — had a weird salty taste to it All in all, skyice probably won’t be a place I would come back to. While some of their ice cream was good and the presentation was well made, it was nothing really memorable. Maybe their entrée dishes are better. My friend did get take-out — I’ll wait for his verdict before I venture over here again.

This adorable little place offers over 18 unique flavors of ice cream and sorbet! It’s $ 6.50 for a 5 scoop sampler and $ 9.50 for a 12 scoop palette of your choosing. Thai Tea– My absolute favorite! It tastes just like deliciously made Thai iced tea. Lychee Rose– The next best flavor. There is a lovely rose scent to the sweet lychee flavor. Durian– Tastes like milky durian. I enjoyed it. It has a lighter scent than the fruit, for those who don’t enjoy the smell of durian. Honey Ginger– I’m not sure how I feel about this one. It was alright. Cucumber Lime– My least preferred. Although it did taste refreshing, the flavors did not compliment each other. It had a bitter taste. I will definitely return to try more of their flavors with the 12 scoop palette.

I think I was pulled into the idea of this place, because thai restaurant and dessert? Sounds like a match made in heaven. However, it was far from it. We wanted Thai food for dinner and the place looks really nice with a great Brooklyn hipster ambience so we decided to eat here. However, service was super slow. In addition, the food did not come out together!!! Some of us were finished eating by the time the last person in our party of 6 received her food! We waited for about 15 minutes for her food until she told us to eat… So I am guessing the time from the first person getting her food to the last was around 20 – 25 minutes. That is definitely not OK… I had the carb free noodles and it was not good. The taste was not like any other Thai place I have been too and not in a good way. The dessert was good but they were out of many many options and I had to pick choice ranked #3 of the dessert I wanted. I had the sticky rice with ice cream. It was good and very delicious — a unique dessert for sure. However, for the service, mediocre Thai food, and the not having most of the good they served on the menu in stock, this place only gets 2 stars from me.

When you first enter in through the door, it looks like a café-setting where you order your food and bring it to table if you wish to sit down. Instead, once you walk half way in, trying to figure out what you want, a staff walks by to ask if you would like to sit. The seating area is very cramped with very tiny circular and rectangular tables depending on your party size. Initially, I came here for the ice cream but happened to be hungry as well, so I decided to order the Green Curry. I was unaware that the Green Curry was spicy, and then realized that’s what the three stars meant next to it since the staff who took my order did not mention anything… It came in an extremely small portion with VERYLITTLE meat, which I was unhappy about. I was able to finish all of the meat in about five bites and everything else was veggies. If I paid for protein, I would like at least a good about of meat to finish with my rice… Or else I would have said no meat. The paper bowls could’ve doubled up also if it can not hold all of its substance because my table was entirely greasy afterwards. I ordered Thai Iced Tea and it did not come immediately. I didn’t realized until half way into my meal that I was missing my drink since I was eating such a spicy dish… Then the staff thought I ordered two when getting my check. ALSO, if you are going to order food and ice cream, order each of them separately… I ordered the 12 ice cream sampler. After I was done with my dish, the ice cream came out extremely quick, but it is definitely not a good thing. It melted extremely quick and eventually became a whole blob of puddle before I can finish it.

Came here for the first time to get flavored sorbet. They have so many unique flavors that I’ve never had before. I got the lychee rose sorbet since I was feeling something fruity. I tried mango as well but since lychee rose is something different I settled with that. It’s very cold and refreshing, a bit tangy and sweet. You can definitely taste the lychee. $ 15 credit card minimum but they let me pay for me and my friend for $ 7.50, thanks ! Seems like a busy place. It’s very cozy and seating is limited.

A for creativity! I’ve only been here for the sweet desserts, but I’m interested in their no-carb pad Thai and not fried fried rice. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for something new. They don’t have your typical flavors here. Instead? Try flavors like durian or black sesame seaweed! My boyfriend and I came here after having a decent sized meal. We went for the sampler of 5 medium scoops of ice cream. At almost $ 9, they better be good! We had the Thai Tea, Thai Coffee, Black Sesame Seaweed, Banana Nutella and Salted Caramel. The flavors are true to their names, and it was easy to tell which was which. The Thai Tea and Banana Nutella were my favorites. The Thai Tea taste just like the drink, and though more banana-y than Nutella-y, it was sill really good. My only issue with the ice cream is that I wish they were creamier and that they didn’t melt so quickly. I was barely done taking a photo when it was melting all over! In a way, they seem to be lighter. After these 5 scoops, we still had room for more so we decided to try one more thing that caught my eye. The Winter Roll is a playful dessert sushi. They use a sticky sweet coconut rice, and put some fruits in the middle. We had just lychee and strawberry, since they ran out of kiwi. It’s wrapped in rice paper, but if you like the seaweed, don’t worry! It comes with black sesame seaweed ice cream as well. It was cute that they even had a chocolate sauce with some green tea as the wasabi and soy sauce. Service wise, they were friendly and patient with us as we made or decisions. The food took a bit longer than expected, but it did seem like a busy night. As for the ambiance? It was cute — the room felt appropriate for a tea party. Only thing is, there is not too much room inside and it can get loud and a little cramped in a small space. I recommend this place for 2 or 3!

SkyIce is a dainty little Thai shop that makes interesting flavored ice cream and sorbets. Other than sweets, they do serve savory foods that are a bit lighter and healthier. My boyfriend and I came around the afternoon and wanted something light before smothering ourselves in their ice cream. We chose to sit by the window which was opened on a beautiful Friday; it’s fun to people watch sometimes. I had the Papaya Salad, really light and summer-y; I love the citrus and salty taste of the fish sauce. The boyfriend had the No-carb Pad Thai which was delicious; replacing the noodles with papaya was a healthy option. As for dessert, we each had our own ice cream. The White Miso Almond was creamy and had a bit of saltiness to it; and the Black Sesame Seaweed was a bit fishy for my liking, you initially taste the toasted black sesame seed but after that, it was all salty seaweed taste. Note: if you order an entrée, a mini size ice cream comes with it. We didn’t know about until afterwards so keep that in mind.

Cute little place in Brooklyn! It has an old rustic vibe to it which is in line with the Park Slope neighborhood as a whole. SkyIce actually seems like a legit Thai place but, like many other people, we came here not for the Thai food, but for the ice cream palette. The good: Thai tea– Easily the tastiest one! It tastes just like thai iced tea and wasn’t too sweet either! Thai coffee– Not bad Black sesame seaweed– I liked the black sesame but combining it with seaweed was kind of weird… Not bad tasting though Green tea– Pretty standard tastes Belgian chocolate brownie– Yum! Banana Nutella– So good! Vanilla bean– Nothing special but hey what do you expect from vanilla? Mango– Tasty! Lychee rose– I’ve had better but this one was alright The bad: Caramel sea salt– Wayy too sweet and bold in flavor Honey ginger– Oh hell no… Mangosteen– I have never had the fruit before but I don’t think I would wanna try it after tasting its ice cream flavor… Overall, I would say the SkyIce palette is a good item to try out! Me and 3 other friends split it amongst ourselves and we ended up paying $ 3 each which is very reasonable. I love variety and getting to try so many unique flavors really appealed to me. Another pro is that the number of good flavors outweighed the number of bad flavors. Definitely stop by and give the palette a try!

I love the sampler platter of ice cream. You can opt for the 6 or 12 flavors. Of course, we got the 12 flavors. They have a variety of different flavored ice cream and sorbet but my favorite was the cucumber lime sorbet. It’s very refreshing with it’s cucumber flavor and a hint of lime. They also serve Thai food here. I’ve tried both types of pad Thai. They are not your traditional type of pad Thai. One of them is the no carb pad Thai which is made out of papaya«noodles.» The other one is made using clear noodles. I enjoyed both of them but they are kinda skimpy with the chicken. I think I only had 3 pieces of chicken in the pad Thai.

I came here after a basketball game at nearby Barclays Center. I really wanted to try the ice cream sampler, but it was just too much for just myself as my friend didn’t want any. Boo! I’ll be returning to get the sampler as all the flavors looked absolutely delicious — love an ice cream place that isn’t so «vanilla»… ha, see what I did there? After sampling a few of their delicious exotic ice cream flavors, I went with the honey ginger and thai tea ice creams, 1 scoop each. The honey ginger was pretty spicy(read, ginger-y) and the honey added a nice touch of sweetness and hint of flavor to the ice cream. The thai tea tasted exactly like thai tea, as expected. Both textures were smooth and weren’t too quick to melt, which is always a plus. I enjoyed trying the various flavors here as well as the ones I picked and will definitely be back when I’m hanging around Barclays Center for the sampler! They also sell actually food items here(hence, «savory») — I didn’t try these as the ice cream seemed much more intriguing to me. Seems like pretty good reviews for the food, though.

ICECREAMPALETTE. Get that. What is it? 12 mini scoops of ice cream/sorbet, you choose and check off a list. My faves:(in no particular order) — Thai tea — Durian — Mango — Coconut — Nutella Banana Definitely coming back for more.
