Smashburger

I seem to have missed something here. I was overall unimpressed with my experience. I had the BBQ Bacon Cheddar burger with sweet potato fries. The burger patty was dry and kinda thin. The BBQ sauce was too sweet and the bun seemed way too thick for the amount of burger and toppings.
The fries were really good though. I guess I was expecting to be blown away by the burgers and they were laughably pedestrian. Guess I can safely say I will be avoiding them in the future.

I’m not usually that impressed with burgers from chains, but the Swiss mushroom burger here is great! The bun is a notch above other places, but the combination of ingredients is just harmonious. Avoid this place like the plague on Fridays lunch time, the line is just annoyingly long.

Fries had potential but they were cold. Avocado looked brown and days old and was displayed proudly on my open Avocado Club Burger… why? Bacon in sandwich was rubbery and not good at all. Credit card machine broke while I was paying so I was not able to get a receipt, although this isn’t the place’s fault they did not handle it in a professional manner in the least bit.

This place is a hot, hot mess. I honestly can’t comprehend the rating it has or the positive reviews. My husband and I went here for the first and last time today and had the most miserable dining experience. I wish we had gotten happy meals at McDonald’s instead. I ordered the chicken club sandwich and he got a customizable burger. The ordering process seemed smooth and there were only a couple of people seated in the dining area, so we figured we would get our food pretty quickly. Nope.
I’m not sure what went wrong, but my half of the order was entered as a delivery order, so it sat in a bag for a while before eventually making its way to our table. I would have been okay with that if my husband’s order was anywhere on the horizon, but 20 minutes later, it was still MIA. By then the place had filled up and EVERYONE who came in after us had been served. Finally one of the workers stopped by our table and informed us that my husband’s order would be up soon. It finally arrived and was charred beyond recognition. The meat was literally black and the consistency of beef jerky. It literally crumbled when he took a bite and parts of the patty were so thin that there were holes. The egg that he had added was also way overcooked. He said it was the saddest burger he had ever seen or tasted. But by then we were so hungry and had already been there for almost an hour, so he choked it down and we left.
I would give this place zero stars if that was an option.

These burgers are sooo good! I had a beef burger boyfriend had chicken. I wish this chain was in more places throughout nyc! It’s a fast food joint but the burgers taste like better quality than that. Would Def reccommend.

I’d like to make it very clear that the burgers here are comparable or even better than Shake Shack. The meat is well seasoned and they use fresh ingredients. The truffle fries are to die for!

There are plenty of burger joints in the city. Smashburger puts out a decent burger in a fast food setting. It doesn’t have the hype like Shake Shack but nevertheless I enjoy the burgers here. There is a good selection for everyone and the fries are pretty good also. Can’t really go wrong.

I’ve eaten at various Smash Burger restaurants many times. This one delivers, which is awesome. Ran into an issue a couple times when ordering in, but they were quickly resolved. Yesterday, I popped in and ordered the classic smash and an oreo shake. DELICIOUS!
I don’t get to eat like this often, so it was a real treat. Especially, since I had just left another establishment that failed my need for a burger «fix.»

The sauces they use for the burgers are amazing. Usually, a burger is just a burger but I’m giving them props for creating such good sauces. The place is nice, clean and colorful unlike that other big name burger spot down the road.

It takes something special for me to write a truly bad review. My first few experiences here were great but my most recent has me no longer ever going there although I work right by it. Ordered a chicken sandwich and was given a receipt with a check in if you don’t have your food by xxx xxx time. The time was 45 minutes off which seems like a long time to wait for a sandwich but okay. I sat there the full 45 minutes and showed my receipt as everyone around me seemed to get food decently fast. They checked and said oh, we didn’t start that yet. We will now.
10 minutes later I got my sandwich so it took about an hour total for a chicken sandwich. I’m not a person that wants free food ever but a «I’m sorry» or pretty much anything acknowledging a screwup beyond oh, we didn’t out that in yet would have been appreciated.
I haven’t been back which is unfortunate because I think their food is good but multiple employees had contact with me during this interaction including a manager and no one even acknowledged the inconvenience.

3.5 stars. My first time having Smashburger and I wasn’t disappointed. Made some last minute plans with a friend because I was craving a burger, decided to go here instead of Shake Shack. The set up kinda reminds me of an upgraded Five Guys and the presentation of burgers reminds me of Red Robin? Anyway, good amount of seating and good service all around. It makes sense to have them bring the food to you instead of having everyone standing around waiting for it.
My friend ordered the truffle mushroom Swiss with a side of smash sweet potato fries and I ordered the New Yorker with a side of fried pickles. We shared our burgers and sides, yum! Everything was flavored just right and I was pretty happy with the fried pickles! I would’ve ordered a shake since I heard so many good things about it, but it was too much after the amount of food and sugar I had for the day… Smashburger is a good option to satisfy a burger craving and I will have to go back for a shake!

Great location and excellent service! I just had lunch here and was highly impressed. It was VERY packed and I anticipated a long wait, however was surprised of the fast turn around. I ordered the classic smashburger with regular fries. It was amazinnn! Juicy patty on a pillow soft bun. The fries were well seasoned and crispy. Staff members were polite and cleaned as they went on. Very attentive to our needs. I certianly would revisit

I had the classic smash burger with a side of sweet potatoe fries. Lets start with the burger. It was cooked perfectly. It was so juicey, and tasty. They put just the right amount of ketchup and mustard. It wasn’t greasy at all. The sweet potatoe fries were sweet and delicious. I would only recommend to get here early. This place is a mad house during lunch time.

Why don’t I go to Smashburger more often? It’s so good! Every single time I go I end up having a stellar meal.
Popped in just last week for a bite while running errands. While I planned to come earlier I didn’t arrive until 1pm and the line was already 8 or 10 people deep (probably thanks to the college across the street?) It moved quickly thought and the gal at the cash register was super sweet. She was quick to remind me the difference between the regular (5oz) and the big burger (7oz) and even applied a $ 2 off coupon when I mentioned an email I had gotten recently.*
For less than $ 10 (including coupon) I had a ‘Create Your Own’ Burger — 7oz + Pretzel Bun + BBQ + Lettuce + Pickles + Goat Cheese + Bacon AND a regular order of the smash fries.
The burger itself was fantastic. Smashed to perfection with a super soft bun. I LOVE that I can totally customize my burger and all of the good ingredients aren’t an upcharge. Most places would charge extra for that pretzel bun! They could have spared a little bit more cheese on my burger (I did order a ‘big’ after all…) but that’s really the only negative I’ve got towards that burger.
The smash fries are a must order as far as I’m concerned– thin cut fried tossed in olive oil, rosemary and garlic. Oh my deliciousness! The regular size is a nice big portion and they are not polite when it comes to that garlic rosemary combo. So so good!
For lunch I asked for a water cup but I’ve had their milkshakes before — and if you’re wondering if you should order one — you should! They’re spectacular. **
Food came out quickly and piping hot. And the staff wandered around often to clear baskets and ask if anyone needed anything.
They really know what they’re doing over there at Smashburger! Gosh, I really need to eat there more often…

** Must also point out that the drink machine at SB has Vitamin Water XXX. As someone who doesn’t love soda… this is a nice surprise! Why don’t more fastfood/​semifastfood places offer Vitamin Water via the soda fountain?!

I had such a nice visit here with my friend! It was our first time at smash burger and they made us feel welcomed and made us feel like home. The employees were so nice and sweet.
My friend ordered grilled chicken club and I ordered the burger avocado thing (I forgot the name). Mmm it was so good! Craving for more right now.

They provide a lot of seatings for groups or just 2 people. The interior design is nice and the place is well cleaned. The waitress constantly come by and ask if you need anything else or any assistance. The manager was pretty nice too. He seems very passionate about his business and treats all customers very nicely and welcoming.
I recommend this place! You should definitely stop by here if you’re around the block!

My go-​to burger joint around downtown Brooklyn!
I always get the mushroom swiss burger. It’s just so tasty, amazing, and filled with delicious sauteed mushrooms. I’ve gotten other burgers here as well, but this is my favorite, hands down. I’ve tried their regular fries, but wasn’t very impressed. Maybe next time I’ll try their smash fries.
Also they have an online order option. Definitely going to try that when I’m in a rush.

Oh my goodness, I can hardly believe that I’m giving a hamburger chain a four star rating but I am! Today, I ventures out to try a new burger spot and so I passed in my usual 67 – 69 burger, whatever you call it. Lol — I crack myself up!
Well, anyway, I did what I normally do and I Unilocal it and came across Smash Burger. Unilocal never fails. I’ll just add that I’m not a big beef eater. In fact, I turned this experience into my once a year (intentional beef eating experience) beef day. Long story made shot, I love my Blue Cheese crumb Buffalo Hot Sauce Burger. My date had the Jalapeño burger. At some point between sipping down our delicious milkshakes and chomping down on our burgers, we bothered smiled and gave each other a high five which translates into my 4 STARS!

My first time here. I had the Classic Smash with SmashFries. It wasn’t the best burger i ever had, but it was close enough. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to make my own burger or pick one that was already set for you. I personally like to make my own most of the time, but since it was my first time here I just wanted to get a classic one before I mix and match what i really want. As for the fries, I like my fries to be flavored and crispy and that’s what I got. You can’t go wrong with fries, but if you did then you must be doing something wrong.
I would come back again, but next time ill be making my own burgers.
As for the service, It was pretty good. I got the food within 5mins. You would have to pay at the counter and they give you a number on a stand and you take your sit. When the food is ready they will bring it to you by finding you by the number they gave you.

I enjoyed the selection of burgers and the quality of service. This was my first time at Smash Burger. I loved the fact they had sweet potato friends and the option to add egg atop of my burger. I was dying of starvation so I ordered the bigger portion. To my surprise, it was a lot of food. I felt like a stuffed pig afterward but it was definitely well worth the money.

Even though this is a chain burger restaurant, they still are able to highlight what a burger should be about, the patty itself. The meat is well seasoned and stands well on its own. The burger does NOT need any special toppings or secret sauces to make it taste good.
That is about all that is good about smashburger. Their sweet potato fries were very plan and unmemorable. The smash fries were very aromatic but tastes like your average basket of fries.
It is a tad pricier than your average burger joint, but they usually have specials if you sign up for their mailing list
