SouthPaw Dog Walking

I only have the best things to say about Tara and SouthPaw. SouthPaw was referred to me by some folks from my local dog park, and I couldn’t be more thankful. When our foster dog came down with a cold overnight and was too sick to go to her daycare, I started scrambling to find someone to walk her the next day. In a frenzy, I emailed Tara, and SouthPaw was able to come meet my pups that same evening and walk them the next day and the rest of the week. My resident and foster dogs are having a great time on their daytime walks, and I’m relieved to know that they’re in great hands. Tara is great to communicate with, super professional, and incredibly helpful. Thank you, SouthPaw! We’re so glad we found you!

Tara is amazing with our pitbull-​boxer Miso, whose high energy can only be released with frequent play. I appreciate the care she puts into sending a note after each walk. It really settles any dog-​separation anxiety while at work during the day. If the 5 star reviews aren’t enough, just ask anyone at Herbert von King dog park, I’m pretty sure she’s walked every dog there at some point, and everyone LOVES her.

Tara has been the absolute best and I don’t know what I (or my yorkie and pitbull) would do without her. Tara has been walking my two pups since December and I have had nothing but great service. This was my first time hiring a dog walker, and Tara was very patient and understanding with my 800 questions and concerns. I don’t know how I managed before! She’s been nothing but helpful and a lifesaver on many a days when I can’t get home right away or have nobody to dog-​sit.
What’s even more awesome is she sends you an email and photos after every walk so you know how everything went. I highly recommend SouthPaw to anyone that feels guilty about leaving their pet home alone all day while at work!

Tara has been so good to me and my dog. I have a lot of last minute work meetings that come up and she always tries to accommodate. My dog is a bit of a handful, he really does not like children or skateboards, and Tara is always very aware of his aggression and steers him clear of any trouble. There are not very many people who I trust with that sort of responsibility. It is commendable that she will still go out of her way to help me out by getting him out of the house, all the while she tries to work with me and my dog to shape some of his bad behaviors. I could not ask for a more professional and caring person to give my house key to. Every time I meet someone new with a dog I recommend her right away. She always fills up his water bowl and even checks on the cat when she comes in the house. If you are looking for someone trust worthy, considerate and responsible –Tara is the dog walker you want to go with.

There are not words for what a life saver Tara has been. I adopted a pit bull pup from the shelter who is afraid of strangers, human and canine, & I was super nervous to let anyone else walk her, as I imagined them being less cautious with her than I am. Tara, however, is more aware, detail oriented, and responsive to my dog’s needs than I am. She is also super particular about who she hires to walk for her. Her team tolerates my page long texts of interactions, sends notes after the walk with really helpful info and fun pictures, and offers invaluable guidance as to how to address my dog’s particular needs. Tara’s Southpaw is reliable, responsible, thoughtful trustworthy, & friendly, and my dog is far happier & easy going these days because of it :-)

My experience with South Paw was great! This was my first time leaving my cat alone without someone I know to look in on him. Tara responded quickly and answered all of my questions about the services. South Paw offered lower prices and more flexibility than other pet sitting services in the area. Maurica, the pet sitter, was great! She got to know my cat before I left for vacation and sent me texts to let me know when she had visited him. The price was also exactly as quoted. All in all, it was a great experience and I highly recommend South Paw for your pet sitting needs!

SouthPaw is the best — they take great care of our pup on his regular walks, and they’re wonderful with him and our cats AND our plants whenever we’re away for a trip or vacation. Our dog was an adult rescue and has some social anxieties, but their gentle consistency and patience have helped him blossom into a truly happy little guy. We trust them implicitly with our furry friends and our home, because Tara and Charles and the team are wonderful, kind, trustworthy people. We really can’t recommend them highly enough. They’re so great with the critters, and their attentive and friendly service shines in our pup’s happy face even when we’re home late from work.

Tara and her team have been caring for my two small dogs for about three years, and I honestly cannot recommend them highly enough. They are devoted to caring for animals and that shows in the caliber of Southpaw’s service. They understand you’re literally giving them the keys to your home and putting the welfare of your canine family members in their hands. They take that responsibility very seriously, and go above and beyond to make sure your animal is happy, healthy and safe.
I have one rather spoiled, snippy and difficult dog, and a few dog walkers wouldn’t take him on because of his behavioral issues. Tara not only agreed to walk him, but has worked with him to solve the issue (it was honestly just short of miraculous). My second dog has been learning to sit and stay with Southpaw’s help, simply because the team actually enjoys spending time with the dogs they care for.
Once they found my older dog in bit of distress — shivering and unhappy. It was the kind of subtle change in behavior that I would assume only I would notice. They let me know immediately and stayed with him until I was able to get home. Everything was ok, but only because they take care of my boys as if they were their own. They make sure one dog has a certain blanket out on the couch, and to check for items that the puppy is liable to eat (anything). They make sure those details are always right. Every walk is followed by a detailed text (often with photos) updating me on how the dogs are and what the walk was like.
I’m picky and way over-​protective when it comes to the dogs. Southpaw takes every concern and all my preferences (reasonable or not) seriously. They’re a pleasure to work with and always go the extra mile. Good people are hard to find — Southpaw is the real deal.
