Affordable rehearsal space for NYC artists. Making NYC more affordable so creativity can thrive! Clean, bright, spacious, equipt, all for $ 10−18/hr. Whether you’re a solo tuba player, a hip hop dancer, or a futuristic chamber ensemble, there is no better place to rehearse than at our multi-​arts facilities in Brooklyn and Queens.

With an easy-​to-​use online reservation system and personalized keycard access, artists manage their rehearsal reservations online at space​work​snyc​.org and swipe into the facility at the time of reservation.

But there’s more! We’re also relentless cheerleaders for our artists. If you have a gig, we’ll promote it. If you have a show, we’ll try to be there! We’re a small organization with a big heart, and it’s important that you know we’re here for you.

Whether you’re a beginner or the lead practitioner of an esoteric art form that only 19 people know about, Spaceworks has the space you need, at a price you can afford.

History

Established in 2011.

Spaceworks is a nonprofit cultural community development organization dedicated to expanding the supply of long-​term, affordable rehearsal and studio space for artists working in New York City.

Spaceworks provides artists with the workspace that they need to make their practice possible. We believe this strengthens the cultural landscape of the city, making it a more affordable place for artists to work and live.
