Enjoyed the pizza! Did take out, and was pleasantly surprised for the first time I bought from them.

I love pizza, so naturally we ended up here for a double date. We were supposed to go somewhere else, but the wait was too long. Luckily, we were able to get a table for 4 immediately!
I’m not sure what other people are so sour about — service is good here. Our water glasses were never empty, and we had our waters refilled a lot. The server checked up on us, and the food came out in about average time. All of our orders came out solid. The pizza was cut into 8 slices and while the slices aren’t exactly filling, they do have great flavors.
— St. Louis Ribs ($ 18): Tuesday special! These ribs were tangy, and I kinda wanna call them blackened. 7 ribs to an order, and there’s some bread on the bottom to go with it. Meat wasn’t fall off the bone tender, but still pretty good
— The Dangerfield ($ 20): this one came with cut up pork and veal meatballs on top, and little garlic chips that I loved.
— The White Album ($ 17): Obviously a white pizza, and it was topped off with arugula. This tasted fresh and really balanced out the meal
— Chocolate Cake ($ 10): it’s not so much a cake as it is a giant smore. The «cake» is more like a giant, ooey gooey brownie and its topped off with a sticky, melty marshmallow. So yum.

Should be called Slow AF Romeo, but their pizza is good enough for a pass. I went over the weekend and tried the St. Louie and the Kind Brother. Both very different, and both very good.
They need another pizza oven, or they at least need to manage deliveries better though. It seemed like deliveries were the reason our pizzas took so long, even though we were dining in.

Used to love this place until they started screwing over take-​out orders. $ 16 for two bites of salad. Never going or ordering again.

I can actually say I had one of the greatest pizzas of all time here known as the Saint Louie!
The Saint Louie includes pickled chilis, pepperoni, italian sausage and provel all cut in squares which equals awesome ass pizza!
My buddy from Queens knew about this place and said it was truly awesome… boy was her right. It doesn’t look like it would be an awesome pizza place as it has a big beat up, worn out liquor store sign on top of the building. Once inside, it looks really nice… the outside isn’t really that bad but the sign throws you off a bit. Our server Aaron was good at letting us know what options were good. There was a smell in this place that just kept slapping us in the nose in a good way. They were back there making some brisket sandwiches which is on the lunch menu. When I go back I will definitely have to get it as it smelled some kinda good! The other pizzas on the menu look really good as well as the other sandwiches!

The first time the older woman who was our waitress was unfriendly.
2^nd time back we had the same type of order and a better server but it seems like the crew that turns tables isn’t particularly pumped to work there? We go back for the pizza and location.

Not so speedy. Food is delicious but it gets very busy during the weekends and at night. We had to wait 1 hour to be seated (with a reservation) and another hour to get our pizza. Better for a group smaller than 3 people, but if you’re hungry don’t expect to eat soon.
If you’re Pratt student they have a 20% discount but only during the day. Probably best to come for brunch, or for drinks.

I love this spot. The vibe is so wonderfully relaxed, the waitstaff perfectly polite, and – most importantly – the pizzas, top-​notch! On two distinct occasions I’ve had brunch at Speedy Romeo, and must say that this establishment is a force to be reckoned with. The pizza crust is crispy, but also satisfyingly chewy (as it should be!). The ingredients are fresh and inviting.
Perhaps what’s nicest about this spot is it’s comfort. So much of Brooklyn (not to even mention Manhattan) feels like a scene, façade, or even a neighborhood in Disneyworld. Not so at Speedy Romeo. This is a fantastic neighborhood pizzeria with excellent pizzas. Looking forward to my return!

Get the White Album, best speciality pie I ever ate! And also the lunch special they offer is great. An appetizer and a pie for 20 bucks.

This place was delicious. My first and only visit here was pretty wonderful and I am sad that I haven’t been back since. Their Ceasar salad was amazing — I am a pretty big fan and usually order it at any restaurant that has it or if I’m in the mood for a salad. Their dressing was definitely homemade (you could tell) and the portion was great. Fresh cheese and big leaves of Romaine lettuce. It was done in such a unique and clever way.
The pizza was incredible. I shared a pie with my then boyfriend, but I could’ve eaten the entire one by myself — not because of portion size, but just because of how delicious it was. It’s a great addition to an up-​and-​coming area. The inside was cute and quaint and the service was attentive, but also left you alone to do your thing and eat with your date in peace. There is a decent amount of seating and the food came out fast and hot. It’s a great place to check out for a casual lunch or also a romantic dinner date.
The menu names are also pretty great, with some really creative pizza topping and combinations. All the pizzas are wood oven and made to order, so nothing has been sitting out or reheated like you will find in some other Brooklyn pizza joints. Move over Roberta’s. Speedy Romeo’s is here.

This was my first experience at Speedy Romeo and I was amazed. We were sat in a secluded bar area which I liked because we had a view of where the cooking was taking place.
Our meal started with grilled octopus. We watched it go on the grill and be charred to perfection. The octopus was so tender and delicious. I would order it every time I go back. I chose to get the KC Royale pizza which was amazing in its own right. The clams were nice and briny the way I like them and added great flavor to the whole pizza. The kale was nice and charred. All the flavors melded together perfectly.
We concluded our meal with their chocolate cake but it was more like an upscale version of a s’more. It was great and I’d order again in my next visit.

The food here is absolutely fantastic! I ordered white album pizza, the whole garlic and the high quality of cheese impressed me a lot. Prices are acceptable with such high quality, so I rate it as 5 star.

They have pizza, but they also have perhaps the best cheeseburger in New York City. It was perfection. So perfect I had to order a second one.

Luckily we, a group of 7, had a reservation for lunch, because we’d heard this place gets packed. We all shared a few salads that were delicious: grilled beet, caesar, and kale apple.
As for the wood oven pizzas, they met my expectations. I’d heard a TON about the White Album (roasted garlic, riccota, provel, pecorino, bechamel) and it was the perfect blend of cheeses. We had a few others as well, including the margherita (standard, but good).
I didn’t love the uncomfortable, high stools. Is it a ploy to get you to want to leave quicker, so they can turn over tables in this ever-​busy place?

Speedy Romeo — not worth the wait and definitely not worth the money.
For those who live in Bed Stuy, Speedy Romeo is a beacon in a restaurant wasteland. A deceptive beacon but a beacon nonetheless. I’ve gone 6 times… maybe more, and each visit is more disappointing than the last. I’ve waited more than 30 minutes for food, received incorrect food orders (I ask them to take the egg off the Kind Brother), eaten burnt food, and been accosted by the stroller crowd. And during my most recent visit, the wait staff was unforgivably rude to me when I asked for an update on when our table would be available.
In comparison to other restaurants east of Classon Ave (think Nice Pizza, Black Swan, Barons, etc.), the food is pricey and the quality is relatively okayish. If you just venture a few blocks towards Clinton Hill, there is a plethora of restaurants with much better food, better service, and at cheaper price points (think Hill Café, Olea, Alice’s Arbor, or The 3 Luigis, whose pizza is amazing and service equally so).

My friend touted Speedy Romeo as a place he knew I would enjoy, and he was right (thanks Meter!). We stopped in for brunch and were seated immediately. For a moment, we enjoyed the high-​ceilinged space and the warm sunlight filtering through the well-​tended window plants, then our menus quickly arrived and we turned out attention to food.
I’d heard incredible things about their oven-​grilled french toast, but unfortunately, Speedy Romeo was out of it and we learned that the item is permanently coming off their menu. We all ended up with savory options — baked eggs with sausage ($ 3 supplement) and a meatball sub (some of us were very, very hungry). The menu description really doesn’t do the baked eggs justice — two eggs are baked in a cast-​iron skillet with tomato sauce, melted mozzarella, basil, and whatever add-​ons you desire, served with a side of salad (topped with a delicious dressing) and a piece of olive oil-​slathered, grilled bread. It had a good balance of flavors and felt a bit like a margarita pizza without the pizza crust — filling without being too heavy for brunch.
Our waitress was prompt and helpful in explaining portion sizes and fleshing out the menu descriptions. We also thoroughly enjoyed the live jazz band and the sound level was just about right from where we were sitting, though I imagine the music was quite loud at the tables next to the band.
Speedy Romeo specializes in wood-​fired pizzas — we sighted different pizzas on other tables that looked amazing and immediately began discussing which ones we would order «next time.» We were a bit disappointed to learn that one of their few sweet brunch options will no longer be available; the remaining choices are a granola dish and fried dough, neither of which are quite as substantial as french toast. However, I definitely look forward to coming back and trying out their lunch and dinner options.

Bottom Line:
— Good But Slightly Expensive Pizza (Non NY-​Style Pizza)
— Cheap Drinks
All and all this pizza place is pretty good. I came here on a Monday with a date. Speedy Romeo offers all night happy hours on Monday which make their beers $ 5 — pretty sweet deal if you’re looking to drink.
For food, their pizzas cost anywhere from $ 14-​$ 19 depending if you order meat. The pies are not large — maybe 10 inches. They looked slightly larger than a personal pan pizza. For a non-​NY pizza, it’s not bad. But if you’re a TRUE New Yorker, this pizza isn’t a NY Neopolitan pizza — it’s kind of a hipster version of it. I ordered the Dangerfield which was delicious but, if you’re a larger man, you may not think it’s a enough food.
In terms of service, the wait staff is pretty attentive. And when I ordered a more expensive drink, the staff told also of the cheaper craft/​draft beer options.

I had high expectations of its pizza going in but was sadly disappointed. The appetizers, however, were delicious. We had the stuffed peppers, octopus, and Caesar salad. The pizzas we had were The Saint Louie, The Kind Brother, and the KC Royale. The crust was nice and soft but the pizzas lacked seasoning and flavor.
The décor is rustic and very ‘brooklyn’ and the service was very attentive. Packed on a Friday night and parking is tough in the area so plan accordingly.

The artisan pizza game is strong in Brooklyn. The search for the best is a tantalizing venture, but I’m afraid with the colder months rolling in, that may very well have to wait. At the very least, I’ll have the ability to wax nostalgia over a bygone day where I bit into a slice at this charming little pizza parlor.
We were at spring’s twilight, starting to feel the bursts of heat that summer was capable of. Speedy Romeo, apparently but a stone’s throw from the G train; despite a discernible means of public transit (and on as humid a day as I could remember, with my lunch meet planned here with a very charming young lady), it wasn’t even a question as to how I’d be making my commute here; in this particular writer’s opinion, there’s no better way of zipping around Brooklyn if not on the top of a speedy cycle (my personal favorite method of bipedal locomotion).
From Astoria, after 45 minutes of pedaling (maybe flipping the bird to some of NYC’s incompetent drivers), I arrived, and I was early. Needless to say, a piece of (pizza) pie was definitely in order. Once our party of two was made whole, we were promptly seated (apparently they do brunch here, and we missed the tail end… perhaps this was reason for being able to get seats easily).
Her: non pork product eater. Me: tend to be less fond of the cheeses on pizza. Solution: let’s build our own pie. Not that the selection of, what I am sure were very popular and time tested, specialty built pies with predetermined toppings seemed inadequate (I’d be more than happy to go back and try some of them)… but rather, two particular people with especially particular tastes needed some flexibility. I certainly appreciate when customization comes standard in pizza places.
Pepperoni on one side (for me), majority of the cheese on the other side (for her), ⁷⁰⁄₃₀ split of mushrooms per side (her side then mine, respectively), w/​basil and roasted garlic distributed evenly… that was the build, and that’s what we got.
Rich and herb-​y tomato sauce (awesome), crispy thin crust, and a well portioned amount of toppings amalgamated into some special bites. Certainly a tasty pizza. The best that Brooklyn has to offer? Not exactly, and better value can be found elsewhere… but certainly a strong player to have in the line up. Next bike ride here, I’m sure I could easily have one whole pie all to myself.
