Food is good and the packing if dilvery is also very nice but it’s extremely expensive. Not worth the price.

Just came back from an enjoyable dinner with my wife and five cousins. Not fancy(no table cloths), but clean environment(including the bathrooms). Omelettes, Sushi, Zucchini Teriyaki, Mozzarella sticks were all good. Cappucinos, both caffeine-free and regular, also good. Prices for kosher food very reasonable.

Let me preface by saying I am only giving it 3 stars because I am a fan of their food. They do make a really good salmon salad, grilled salmon wrap, penne a la vodka, pasta primavera, crunchy sushi roll, and delicious drinks. I would give them 4 stars… BUT –Unless you remember to order for delivery 1 – 2 hours before you will be hungry don’t bother because it takes 1 – 2 hours to get your food. By which time all hot is either warm or cold, all cold is either melted or warm(depending on the weather), anything moist is soggy in a bag… etc. –The phone staff is rude and uninterested, no patience and no interest in pleasing customers, making the order process over the phone annoying and frustrating. –In store, lunch time is pandemonium. Literally. Strollers all over the place, loud people taking over the store, kids running around, no order. Pick a quiet time such as 11:30 am or 2:30 pm for a nice relaxing lunch because then the service is ok and there is room to sit and breathe without smelling someone elses perfume. Why I love it? The food, again, pretty decent, most of it really really good. They have a curb side service which is great if you give them 15minutes to prep your food, you pull up outside and drive off. Great if you are in a rush. It is local and convenient if you are shopping in the area. Prices could be better but then again it is what it is.

Too bad Unilocal doesn’t have negative stars. As per usual, restaurants in Boro Park have no shame or remorse in how they treat their customer, especially this one. Deliveries are always late, there is something always missing from the order, and the food is either over or under cooked; not to mention the eggs taste like rubber, I’ve had a muffin that wasn’t fully baked, and pancakes that tasted salty. Today was the last straw however. We ordered breakfast for our office and called a moment later to add on a latte. Of course the latte was missing from the delivery and the gentleman on the phone excuse was«oh the delivery guy gave it to another location»(as if that was the most normal thing). The guy on the phone than told me that another one was on the way, to which I replied that I’m not waiting another 40 minutes for coffee. I only get a chance to come here when I’m in NY. I love the fast and friendly service. Food is always excellent and never a long wait. Place is always crowded but always.clean. I’ve tried their paninis and it’s always incredible, the soup the rolls and their salad are always tasty. The price is very reasonable as well.

I’m giving this a second star cuz the food is great. Staff is rude and horrible. Waited 15 min for a coffee. Delivery took a hour when I was just around the corner. drink came melted. Would not order or go again, for just good food I could eat at many other places.

Exposed brick, French Café posters and pastries scattered across the counter trick you into thinking the food will be just as good as the aesthetic. It’s not, but the service was good and the food was good enough for it to be called a pretty good 3 start dairy Resturaunt.

Terrible, terrible service and even worse food… I work down the block from spoons and order from them when I am unable to leave the office. EVERYSINGLETIME I have ordered a salad the lettuce comes brown and wilted, the cheese is not fresh and tomatoes are old and mushy. When you call to say something about it, the manager offers to send another horrible brown lettuce salad. and when you tell them you dont want another brown lettuce salad he tells you tough luck… no refunds. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone I know. STAYAWAY.

AVACADO — FRESH — PANINI —(EYESBULGING)(TASTEBUDSTINGLING) Spoons is an awesome Kosher restaurant on Avenue J in Brooklyn. Since my office has moved from Manhattan to the last stop on the 5 train in Brooklyn(depression). There is nothing around but Kosher restaurants and Kosher restaurants. I was told by some of my coworkers that SPOONS had the best sushi in the area and that just turned me even more off because the sound of raw anything was never appealing to me. Coming here for lunch one day I decided to order the avocado Panini. –that didn’t sound appealing either(I am a straight carnivore) but I didn’t want to let my coworkers down because I hardly go out with them(off topic). The Panini was the freshest thing I ever had the pleasure of consuming. Who would have thought that two pieces of bread with no meat in the middle could be the most delicious thing I have ever tasted! It was served with a side of ginger and a small yet pleasing salad. My order would have been only 6.95 but my assertive yet persuasive coworkers forced me to try a piece of their Alaska roll. AVACADO — FRESH — SUSHI —(EYESBULGING)(TASTEBUDSTINGLING) Long story short… I am in love with sushi now! My bill came out to 13.50, a little pricey for lunch but oh soooo worth it. The staff are 100% sweethearts. It does get crowded in there around lunch time but you can always take it to go if you don’t want to sit and wait. Overall, I am asking that you give this Spoons a try. I can’t vouch for any other location.

OHHH My goodness! the noise, the crowd, the pushing you would think they were giving something away for moms and babies my daughter and I needed the kosher so there is Spoons I am not sure I get the name but its cute they have their register counter right up at the front door, so when you come in you need to walk past it which is a bottle neck right there people waiting to pay, people waiting to order, people just standing there waiting for their friend to get her purse. filled with moms and screaming babies I don’t get it, and I have multiple kids what kind of nice lunch includes screaming kids? not mine small tables so your right on top of your neighbor slow but friendly service why did I give this place 4 stars? clearly ONLY because of the food nice fresh tasty ceaser salad good muffins its hard to find good kosher the food here is good

This place is awful. It is run by a bunch of rude teenagers, including the wait staff and those dealing with take-out orders. The manager is all of 20 years old. Delivery time for an order down the block is anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour and a half. Most of the time, they get the order wrong. The owner of the restaurant is too busy spending all the money he makes from ripping people off for sub-par food to actually be present in the restaurant, nor does he respond to complaints or criticisms. One lovely example: I had a waiter who told me our order was never put in to the kitchen because he «had to take a leak» and he forgot to put it in. Not to mention, the place is OVERRUN with baby carriages and rude, inconsiderate women with loud voices(usually on cell phones) ignoring their screaming children. Most of the the time, they just park the carriages at the front of the restaurant while they eat with their friends. You cant even get into the restaurant because of the overcrowding. The owner hasnt updated the menu in years despite suggestions and requests from customers. Save your money and pack a lunch. Definitely not a place for a business meeting either.

I just paid $ 7.00 for a bowl of French Onion soup to go. I am glad I didn’t get anything more, I can’t image what a sandwich must cost. Luckily, the soup was good, so I gave them 2 stars. To me, this place screams overpriced, but friendly staff, and nice interior. Didn’t hate it, but unless I’m desperate for some expensive French Onion soup, I won’t be going back.
