Our goal at Starr Street Studios is to provide affordable, friendly, and professional studio space rental for small to medium scale photo shoots. We are local photographers, photojournalists, artists and sometimes activists. We know how hard it is trying to make it here, and how competitive the industry can be. We use the space ourselves, and we are more than happy to share it.

Most of our clients are regulars. They like having a comfortable and clean environment for their shoots and unlike the industry heavyweights, they can’t afford to spend thousands for it.

History

Established in 2012.

Starr Street Studios is in housed in old sewing factory with new renovations in Brooklyn’s most up and coming neighborhood, Bushwick. We share the building with the neighborhood’s oldest theater, the Bushwick Starr. When the sewing factory closed down in 2011, renovations began and soon after Starr Street Studios was born!

Andrew S.

Business Owner

Andrew went out on his own and shot his first photojournalism story in 1996 when he was assisting a number of top commercial photographers in New York City who schooled him in all the technical aspects of lighting and photography. Since then he has worked in over 20 countries and been published widely both domestically and internationally. His work has taken him all over the world producing major features working alongside world renowned writers like New York Times bestselling author Naomi Klein and former ABC News Chief Middle East correspondent Charles Glass.
