Haim’s people did a great job on a carpet that’s been in my wife’s family for two generations. They cleaned it, restoring its color, and protecting the edges where it was fraying to preserve it for the future. They also treated it for moths when we realized it had been damaged by them, and all for a very reasonable price. Excellent service, and there you’re not going to find a someone more knowledgeable and honest than Haim.

Haim and Sun Light rugs did an excellent job with my valuable oriental rugs. I needed 4 rugs cleaned, including repairs on the fringe, soaking, and hand washing since I have cats who have thrown up on the rugs, etc. He also did sheering on one of the rugs where the cats’ claws have pulled up some of the fibers. I will be storing the rugs for a year and he wrapped them all together in special plastic wrapping. Haim came over and did a thorough inspection of the rugs and the different options for cleaning/​repair and gave me a quote, with no pressure to continue with him if I chose someone else. He picked up and delivered the rugs promptly. Based on his expertise and service, I’m glad I did choose Sun Light!

Sun Light did a great job restoring and cleaning an old and very worn rug which I inherited. Haim was great — his estimate was not the lowest but he was the most responsive, informative and helpful in terms of talking me through the different options. The rug came back looking cleaner and brighter than it had any right to. Just a couple of weeks later we had a polar vortex-​related pipe burst and the rug was saturated. Haim was my first call — he came and picked the rug up immediately and did a beautiful job cleaning and disinfecting it and, miraculously, there was no lasting damage. Very professional service — I highly recommend Haim and his company.

STELLAR service from these guys! They cleaned my couch about a month ago but had been so busy with moving and other things that I haven’t had the chance to post a review here. And yeah am going out of my way to do this since they truly deserve a positive review and more people should hear about them.
Now moving on to the review :) Haim responded to my online inquiry and was very straightforward to talk to when asking for their rates. It wasn’t easy finding a good couch cleaner. I did so much research and sent inquiries to different places to weigh out my options. There was even this other place where the person on the phone gave me a low quote then when it came down to finalizing the appointment all of a sudden raised it more than twice the original quote! It made me look at other Unilocal review they have and it turns out to be that’s their pattern, low quote on phone and then surprise you with a higher rate. The other place rhymes with blotness nyc. Ok back to sunlight rug care, Haim was a pleasure to work with and he arranged the appointment according to the time that is convenient for me. I truly appreciated it and they even arrived early! It was Jay who came and cleaned our queen-​size sofa bed made of microfiber suede in ocean blue. Our couch ended up smelling and looking really clean. Jay even gave us some tips on how to maintain our couch. Very very pleased with their service. I would definitely book them again.

I’ve been working with Haim for more than eight years and have never been disappointed. If you want a rug that looks clean, rent a machine from Home Depot and call it a day. But you get what you pay for. If you want a SERIOUSLY clean, refreshed and cared for wall-​to-​wall carpet, heirloom Turkish rug, fabric wall hanging or upholstered furniture, you can’t go wrong with Sunlight. As previous reviewers have mentioned, Haim will come to your home (and in my case, business as well), and take the time to tell you exactly what needs to be done. You can tell he cares about his work and has a deep wealth of knowledge to pull from. Customer service is obviously important to him and his team. Although a deep cleaning of an expensive rug that needs a lot of help (5 cats can be brutal) can take some time, and is not cheap, the rug that you get back could very well look better than the day you got it.
Haim’s company also cleans the industrial carpets and upholstered furniture at my bar, which is a massive job. Everything looks and, as important, smells immeasurably better when he’s done, and his price is very reasonable when you consider how much work there is to do.
This is the kind of bespoke service you always hope for but rarely get. If you care about results and wish to deal with honest and professional people, this is the place to call.

I found Haim to be professional, accommodating & honest as he set up the cleaning & restoration of our rugs. The cleaning was thorough & the restoration work very careful, beautiful & sensitive to an old rug. It was superb to have the pickup and delivery components so I didn’t have to schlep the things anywhere.

I recently sent my very large and (very, very) dirty oriental carpet to get cleaned and treated with these guys. I couldn’t have had a more smooth and pleasant experience! Haim was wonderful and helpful through the entire process. He came to pick up my rug himself and it only took a few days! I cannot stress how dirty this thing was… I would absolutely recommend these guys for any and all rug cleanings in the NYC area. The process was so straightforward and simple it’s hard to believe they could ever provide less than excellent service!

Super-​easy to deal with — prompt pickup, prompt drop-​off when scheduled — and the rug itself looks brand new. (And I mean to tell you, it was more cat hair than carpet when Haim picked it up, so: no easy feat.) Excellent work, fair pricing.

I am the genius who decided to get not just one, but two white/​light colored rugs while I had a newer puppy. Luckily I found Haim and Sunlight! He’s cleaned them both and they arrived back in pristine condition — just as good as new! I also love that he’ll pick up and drop off the rugs so it cuts out that hassle. The only downside is that the cleanings cost more than what I paid for both rugs, but I like them a lot. (& they’re no longer on sale — Haim even looked with me online before he took the 2^nd one away! I appreciated that!). I’ll definitely continue to use them in the future!

We badly needed to clean our vintage rug and looked to Unilocal for help. That turned out to be a wise choice, because we found Sunlight Fine Rug Care. Haim answered my call and came over for an estimate the next day. He recommended repairing a rip, soaking the rug and hand washing it. His price was fair — pretty much exactly what we expected to pay, and a fraction of what it would have cost us to replace the rug.
Our rug was delivered to us a little over a week later and is beautiful again!

I purchased a vintage rug for a client and needed to have it cleaned before bringing it to him. I picked Sun Light because they were very close by and had such good reviews. As others have said, Haim is great to deal with, a really nice guy and clearly out to please his customer.
I won’t say it was cheap, but this was a first class hand-​knotted vintage rug and I wanted the best service possible in order to showcase its splendor. I was not disappointed. The rug came back clean and bright, and Haim had worked on a few trouble spots with great results. I couldn’t be happier, and will certainly use Sun Light again.

Three years ago, when my husband threatened to throw out one of my beloved Afghani prayer rugs because it was looking ragged and getting too dusty, I called several rug cleaning companies listed in the area. Haim was the only person to answer coherently and politely and he immediately give me a quick appointment date, so I went with his service, still not knowing what to expect…
When he came to inspect the rug (and another hallway runner he noticed), he gave me very honest, expert advice. Obviously I did not want to spend a fortune, but as we discussed the options and he explained the structural issues with my rug, I was impressed with his knowledge and passion for the vintage rug.
(Coming from a long line of good hagglers, I have a sixth sense about honest business people. Haim is the real deal. He is fair and honest. He inspects every rug as if it was his own, meaning he is not trying to up-​sell anything, just suggesting what is honestly best for each piece. You get what you pay for!)
I agreed that I did not want to do a half-​job, knowing what a special old piece it is, so besides cleaning I also opted for redoing the framed edges and fringed ends. I also decided to get the runner cleaned too. Haim rolled up the rugs and by the end of the week they were back and better than ever! He was great at communicating with me about the progress and delivery times and I appreciated his flexibility.
The runner was fantastic, clean, bright and I could not believe how amazing my vintage prayer rug looked and felt. It was nicer than when I purchased it! It was soft, the colors were incredibly vibrant and the reframing made it straight again! No need to throw it out! And I just felt like we did the beautiful handwork justice.
Several months later, he and a partner came to steam clean my sofa… again, fantastic service, efficient and a wonderful clean, rejuvenated sofa!
This year, I purchased a huge 10×13 Persian rug from a Craigslist post. I consulted with Haim in the midst of the transaction, and he was very reassuring. After bringing it home, Haim came to inspect it and gave me another expert assessment. There were several «bald» spots which I attributed to rubbing, but Haim noted that it was probably moth damage. We decided to go for a special treatment to treat that and clean it. He also pointed out that it needed a rug pad. He explained what was out there — very honest. His prices were better than what I had already researched online and at home stores. I also decided to clean my prayer rug and runner again.
All came back so quickly and STUNNINGLY clean and beautiful!!! The rug pad was better quality than the ones I checked out at Lowe’s and Home Depot too.
I am always completely satisfied with the results and will continue to use this service! Haim is the best!

Sunlight cleaned a large rug for me, and at first I wasn’t totally satisfied with the results. Haim, the owner, personally went out of his way to correct the problem and make everything right. Very impressed with his commitment to customer service.

I had two area rugs repaired and cleaned. The fringe on the oriental rug was worn on both sides and needed to be replaced. The needlepoint rug needed to be rebound on two sides where the rug was damaged. I was very pleased and satisfied with both repairs and was shocked to see the vibrant colors in both rugs after being cleaned. I felt that the price was very reasonable for the work that was done. Haim put my mind at ease, taking time to fully explain the different services they provide and to patiently answer all my questions. My daughter’s white shag rug was discolored and matted. We considered getting rid of it but since we purchased it the rug at ABC Carpet in NYC, we thought it was worth exploring our options. We are delighted with the results! Great service and cool people. 2 rugs, loaded with 3 years worth of foot traffic, childrens messes and cat accidents came back beautiful. Haim was great to work with and service included pick up and delivery around my schedule. Not cheap, but totally worth it.

Ben from Sun Light cleaned my living room couch recently and did a phenomenal job! He spent closed to 1.5 hours cleaning it and making sure any kind of dust, stains, etc. were removed thoroughly. They use natural cleaning ingredients so their was no chemical smell that lingers for days in your home. Very diligent in his approach and work, I highly recommend that you use Sun Light for your next couch cleaning. They will impress you beyond your expectations!

Quick and simple.
Got my throw rug cleaned for a very reasonable price. No stains, but needed a good cleaning after 4 years of just being vacuumed. There were cheaper options, but my rug is delicate, wool, and hand-​made; so they took great care of it. Also very flexible on pick-​up and drop-​off times!
