Yes, I will agree that buying veggies here is totally caveat emptor, but they still usually have the best and cheapest stuff when it’s fresh. If you want to avoid getting stuff that isn’t fresh, don’t buy it. It’s that simple. Also, they almost always have the freshest and cheapest cilantro and flat leaf parsley. Like $.79 a bunch cheap. They are my go to place for herbs.

Pro: They do have quite the selection of fruits and vegetables that you won’t find in most grocery stores. Prices are dirt cheap. Convenient to the subway(as in you’re inspired to make dinner but don’t have an ingredient– viola!) Con: Unless you’re going to eat or cook with anything you’re buying that day, don’t bother. This place, much like Poland Farm across the street, sells produce that’s on its way out. Also, I would highly stress NOT to even kid yourself with the shallots from this place, they’re always rotten. Always.(Yet the endive next to them hold up incredibly well!) I would give this place two and a half stars. One star for freshness, five for creative selection… so the aggregate score of 2.5.

They are Koreans. Owned and run by Koreans with Polish and Spanish friends. The prices are cheap! But people demand cheaper prices in this need of times… There is a wide vary of cultural foods here: Polish, American, Korean, Thai, Chinese, Japanese and then some! Good Hours 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Except Sundays until 8 p.m. It only takes Koreans to bring good premium fruits servicing to the neighborhood that cheap. They work hard and harder than any other immigrants. MUCHCHEAPERTHANTHEGARDEN!

The Polish-Chinese alliance– Strongest since… well I think its the first since John Wallace locked a wild boar in the same stall as a sow and waited for them to get it on and then, obviously, named the offspring the Poland China Hog. I used to go get my fruit and assorted polish candy from aptly named Poland Farm across the street, until some strange coincidences led me to believe that Poland Farm is also run by the Chinese! Analysis below. Very Similar candy selection– Prince Polo, Kinder et. al Very Similar unfriendlyness– But very efficient Very Similar price fluctuations– Oranges are now 5 for $ 3 at both places Chinese people at both places, usually behind the scenes, only to emerge when lines get long or there is a walk-by fruiting(lol Mrs. Doubtfire)
