Under new ownership as of early 2012, and the place is very different. The beer selection is phenomenal — a lot of craft and artisanal beers, including some seasonals.

I was already pretty at peace with this bodega, if only because its previous owners opened early and stayed open at least until 10pm, which is late for this hood. But the new owner, Mike, has already turned the place around! For one, he’s cleaned it up a lot and everything on the shelves looks clean and in-​date! Second, he’s stocking some nice beers like Smuttynose and Lagunitas, which is a real improvement on most bodegas in a twenty-​block radius.
Finally, he gets mad props because I called at 11:15 to ask if they were still open tonight, because my husband wasn’t feeling well and I needed some medicine, and when I got there I could tell that he stayed open just for me! Mike is so friendly that I’m happy to welcome him and his uplifted newish bodega to the nabe!
