Sushi Tokyo

As I was reading through the menu I witnessed BOTH chefs playing on their cell phones and one chef was absentmindedly biting his nails, ejecting the clippings from his mouth by what can only be described as spitting, and sucking on his fingers. I was so disgusted, I gave my feedback to the server, who attempted to convince me that «it’s okay» and I left immediately. I would not be comfortable eating here.

Wife likes the Kawasaki roll. Fried tempura roll is good. They serve french fries which actually tastes great with sushi. Small place but always enough seats. Great service, and prices are very reasonable. Food is fresh (I know their supplier). If you’re in the area, check it out.

Went here for dinner tonight and it was delicious! I had the Coney Roll and the Mexican Roll. I loved the hot sauce and jalapenos on the Mexican Roll. I also had an appetizer called Sushi Tacos that was a fried tortilla shell with raw salmon, avocado, lettuce and tomato inside. I had never heard of anything like that and it was so good. My only real complaint is there’s very little seating, only a few tables. The service was pretty good, we got our food quickly. They also make sushi with brown rice if you request it, which I’m always looking for. Not my #1 favorite sushi spot, but it was still awesome. I will definitely be back!

I ordered the classic sushi salad for $ 10 and got a portion so small that it was not even worth half of that. If you want to get your monies worth and walk away full STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!

Since my last review the owner reached out to me personally and apologized for the experience I had. He also mentioned that he will bring the issue up to his employees and hopefully correct it. I gave them a shot again last night and they delivered. The sushi was great (never had an issue with the food), and they delivered on time. The owner also tacked on a 20% discount to make up for the trouble I had (much appreciated!). I think I’ll continue to use them, though cautiously, since I see they do appreciate my business. Hope this update is helpful.

While there’s not much seating available, for lunch, or as a late night spot, the sushi is always great!

Good food thank you, the delivery took a bit longer but it was worth the wait. The sushi was fresh and tasted good.

I’ve been ordering the medium and party platters from Sushi Tokyo for quite a while. The store allows you to pick your own special rolls and they’re not cheap on things like the fish/​avocado toppings or condiments. The retail location is quite small, enough for you and another without feeling cramped, but I’m ordering delivery to Crown Heights, so for me it doesn’t matter much.
I keep ordering from them because:
** Delivery drivers are reliable (delivery to Crown Heights)
** Fish is fresh and
** Phone servers are ready to help me — without the attitude, when I call in for order inquiries.

The food is great, one of the best.
The service is the worst. They dont say anything about their 20 $ minimum for delivery!!! The guy taking the order was rude! When the delivery got here, after 40 min which is not too bad, the guy gave us the delivery with a wrong order, way pricier than what I was expecting, like 7 dollars more than what. I ordered. They basically asked us what to do with a wrong order. They didnt offer discount or st least sending back the order and come back with the correct order.
One advice guys; get your shit together, stop being rude and tell customers your FUCKING 20 $ MINIMUM FOR DELIVERY!!!

TERRIBLE SERVICE waited for over 3 hours to get my delivery and even once it came they put in TWO ¼ full spicy mayos when I asked for extra spicy mayo & soy sauce and no sweet sauce. I called to ask why they gave me sweet sauce and not extra spicy mayo and soy sauce and they said they charge an extra 50 cents per spicy mayo and the soy sauce package costs them 7 cents so they need to charge extra for it. they didn’t give me an option to pay more for extra mayo or soy sauce. they gave 2 mayos for 5 rolls and ONE package of soy sauce. Definitely not worth waiting THREE HOURS for. when I asked to speak to the owner they said he’s unable to come to the phone so I left my number and asked for him to call me back and until today I’m waiting for a call back.
they used to have spicy mayos on their tables for when you eat in their store and now they wont give you the bottle so you can take as much as you want, if you want more mayo you get charged more. REDICULOUS!!!
me and many more have already spread the word and will get as many people to stop eating here. When they became big, they became cheap!!! absolutely disgusting!!!

Very nice small place for sushi. It has much less place than the one in 5towns, but it is still the same quality, and just like in 5towns it open till very late, which is amazing. Very nice staff and very smart too, one of the guys behind the counter can speak English, Russian, Hebrew and possibly Yiddish. It’s so cool to see people come and make orders in many languages. :)

Love this place. They are open until 2am and really offer a nice menu. Their sushi is the best ever, and the staff is really nice too. Although this location doesn’t deliver, the location on Kings Highway does which makes for a really nice treat on bad weather days.

Pros:

Cons:
Place is operated by little children who have no sense of customer service and are oblivious to the world around them. The kids behind the register at the Kings Highway location are terrible. I cant understand why a business owner who has done so much to build up this restaurant would ruin it all by having such poor customer service and lack of care to customers. I have waited several times at least 30 minutes for a pickup order in the store even when there was no one else around. It seems they take care of phone orders more than taking care of the customer in front of them.
What a shame.

Got carryout. Tuna was exceptionally fresh and so was the avocado. The spicy tuna is just right, not too hot and not too mild. I would recommend.

this may haven been the worst delivery sushi ever. The rice was globby, the tuna was warm when supposed to be chilled. Terrible, I immediately threw it away.
Do not eat food from here

We ordered by phone and walked into this establishment. Turned out the order went to the kings highway location. The man behind the counter was pleasant and promptly confirmed our order was indeed in their other location.
Picking up the food was easy and quick. There ends my pleasant experience.
Miso soup was horribly spoiled. I ordered two and my friend puked immediately after one spoonful.
Sushi rolls were pretty but the fish was old. Very old. Not suitable for consumption old. Possibly borderline spoiled and certainly defrosted and frozen numerous times.
Ignore any positive reviews. I cannot imagine ever eating from this sushi brand. It will be a while until i am able to eat sushi again after this horrible experience.
Next stop the department of health…

I have been hesitant about leaving a Unilocal review about this place because I really liked the sushi and the owners. This is not a review of the sushi as I think it deserves a minimum of three stars (maybe higher if I wasn’t this frustrated).
This place has grown rapidly and I was a loyal customer of theirs since the day they opened. They used to offer great product at great pricing with exceptional customer service. Since their desirability increased and they’ve expanded to open a second location their customer service or care for their customers is terrible, at best.
I have looked the other way several times when waiting an honor or more for a delivery or 45 minutes for a pickup order in person. Four strikes and your out!
MY beginnig of my poor experiences with them began with placing orders and picking up in person. For some strange reason, the pickup orders would take 45 minutes to an hour but delivery orders would take about 30 – 40 minutes. SSucks for them but the way to beat the system was to make them drive to me to offer their free delivery and spend monies on their employees and gas, but it was a win win for me. The last two orders were delivery orders.
Saturday 11:15 PM placed order…
Doorbell rings at 1:39 AM (needless to say its absurd to ring a doorbell (twice) at 1:39 AM. Several calls to the establishment yielded in them not knowing why the delivery didn’t get there yet…
Monday 11:26 PM placed order…
Tuesday 1:20 AM called and asked what happened, they said they were not sure, but the guy should have came already… They tried calling the delivery person and could not succeed. I told them to just cancel the order, and they said ‘ok’.
I have since made SEVEN, yes SEVEN attempts at calling them, each resulted in a ‘i’ll have my boss call you’. Never a single apology or a conversation of how we could continue to retain you as a loyal customer. Today when they said they will have the boss call, I said screw it I’ll call amex to dispute the charge and the guy says ‘okayyyy’.
I’m done. Fortunately because they were flourishing, two direct competitors with similar quality have popped open with similar hours and quality. Bye sushi Tokyo, It was fun while it lasted…

We’ve been ordering from this place pretty much since they opened (I guess about 3 years). They have 3 things that are hard to find around here:
— Good consistent service and reliable delivery.
— Great quality.
— Reasonable prices.
There was one time when we ordered a huge platter and it was very late. We were mad, and guess what. They APOLOGIZED and even gave us the WHOLE ORDER FOR FREE! It was like $ 70! Is that amazing service or what? They are shining gems around here, and they really know how to run a business. Man I love this place.
Sushi is always fresh and delicious. Sauces are yummy. Here are some of my favorite rolls: Godzilla roll, sweetheart roll, leo roll, and coney roll.
You won’t go wrong with sushi tokyo. Enjoy!

This is my wives favorite place to get sushi. Always fresh, always tasty and the presentation is excellent.
I wasn’t so hungry this time (it was after Shabbat) so we only got two rolls — the Mexican ($ 8.95) and the Ninja ($ 7.95) roll.
For specialty rolls this is a great deal as most places charge $ 10+ for the same thing (and it doesn’t even taste as good!) The Mexican roll has fresh jalapeño on top which gives it an amazing spicy taste and their avacados are unbelievably fresh which makes Ninja roll is remarkable. If you have a bigger appetite try the Leo roll and it was great as well. They put fried onions on top and we all know fried onions make everything better!
They have the spicy mayo and eel sauce (it’s kosher, duh!!) self serve so you can get as much as you want.
Open Saturday nights and they have three chefs so u don’t have to wait long to get your food.
Great place for a casual date or if u want to chill with some of your girlfriends and as you can see the place is nice and clean.
It’s a keeper!
