This is no longer a bar restaurant, but it is STILL an awesome tattoo parlor. Owner Pete is a great guy and a phenomenal artist who had been tattooing over 20 years. This was his foray into the culinary arts, and while the foods was good and business did well, in the end it didn’t work out. The tattoo parlor is still there and a working business, so drop in for a tat!

I live in Bay Ridge and want to support local business not only with my cash but my recommendation to friends(which generates more business to said business). I had several tattoos that needed rehabilitation(re-inking) and decided to try this shop since I walk by it almost daily. I walked in and after a couple of minutes was greeted by the apparent owner/only artist in the shop. I told him I needed some tattoos rehabbed and he told me that he was the only artist in the shop and«I don’t fix other artists work.» That told me all I needed to know. I said«thank you», walked out and will never be back. He not only lost business from the re-inking but also any new tattoos I was considering along with a recommendation to friends.

I went here to a birthday party earlier this year and found it mediocre at best. It was a good concept(even though one should not drink prior to getting tattooed, anyway) but the interior looked like an Ed Hardy shirt, which I don’t find particularly interesting. I ordered a dirty vodka martini and it took the bartender a while to(1) listen to what I had to order and(2) look up the recipe for a cocktail that all bartenders should know how to do by heart. The prices were high and buy-backs are hard to get, considering the many other watering holes in this neighborhood.

I love this place! The old school tattoo theme murals on the walls are mesmerizing(hence the name TAT2LOUNGE), FYI to the obnoxious review above, the name does not constitute to a ‘get a tattoo with your meal’ deal, the owner, chef and tattoo artist takes great pride in all that he does — from his exquisite crab cakes, to the potato croquettes, and not to mention the RAVIOLI! — to the murals, the tattoo theme drinks, and his tattoo work. Someone of that level of talent, WILLNOT and SHOULDNOTEVER leave his kitchen of his restaurant to cater to an impromptu tattoo… hence an appt is obviously required… I advise anyone to go there, not only is the food great, the staff welcoming, but the atmosphere is very inviting and relaxing… this is by far my favorite spot in Bay Ridge… the music and vibe add to the ingredients required for a good time. Oh, and by the way, I was a bartender for years and when someone sent a drink back that was halfway gone they got charged for it, so to the lady from the review above, this is an opportunity for you to learn something new… and Cabarnet said with a brooklyn accent will never sound as fancy as your liking… but it’s all good, this is why we love brooklyn… HUYAAAA!

Went here Friday night 7÷17÷2009. After working in the restaurant business for over 10 years, I have had more than my fair share of good, bad, and crazy experiences. One of my favorite things to do is go and try new places. Unfortunately this place was beyond my worst experience in the past decade. I went in with friends, and we thought we would get a tattoo. The blonde bartender arrogantly told us that the artist had over a months waiting list, as if we should’ve known that. Ok, no big deal. Then my friend orders a drink, which was extremely sweet. she took a sip, asked me to try it, and I agreed it was really sweet. So we asked for a lime to try and make it more palatable. But, she just couldn’t drink it. So we asked the server to take it an she ordered a drink at the same price. We got the bill and were charged for both drinks, and the wrong type of beer(which of course was more expensive than what we had). It’s a shame, the server was nice, but a complete novice. An 18 year old who meant well, but didn’t know how to pronounce Cabernet or that it was even a red wine. I spoke with the owner who insisted that I was wrong for even asking that the unconsumed drink be removed from the bill. She then proceeded to mock me and get angry while I tried to reason with her. This place is a joke. We ordered appetizers that were overcooked and flavorless. The drinks were a complete rip-off. Start to finish this place was awful. I would never recommend it to anyone. No wonder there was no one else in there on a Friday night. Don’t waste your time or money.

I love this place. This is my new favorite place in Bay Ridge. I love crab cakes and I haven’t found the perfect crab cakes since I stopped going to Orchid’s Café in South Jersey. Tat2 Lounge has awesome crab cakes, I don’t need to go back to south Jersey. The drinks were strong, the atmosphere was extremely friendly and welcoming. The home made desserts made us act like buffoons. The murals on the walls were beautiful. Another reason for me to go visit my Bay Ridge lovers.
