Specialties
Three Letters reinvents French country cooking with a seasonal slant, taking inspiration from the local greenmarket and modernizing it with some Brooklyn sensibilities. Moules Poutine, for example, is an elevated classic, treated with black mussels and a rich mushroom and white-wine gravy; and a Black Sea Bass crudo is dressed up with ramp purée, leek vinaigrette and sesame shots. Three Letters also specializes in creative cocktails, featuring small batch liquors, bitters and Brooklyn-based tinctures. A welcoming wine list and menu of local craft beers makes Three Letters a haven for happy hour, while Chef Pip’s brunch menu dazzles with new approaches to classic brunch standbys. Three Letters is truly a Clinton Hill neighborhood restaurant that exceeds and delights.
History
Established in 2012.
Three Letters opened in early 2012 as a seasonally inspired French bistro in Brooklyn’s Clinton Hill. The name of the restaurant is inspired by the number of letters in the three owners’ names – Asa, Pip and Cam. The ambiance of the restaurant took inspiration from «les routiers,» or simple restaurants on France’s bustling countryside where drivers and day labors would go to relax, eat lunch and converse loudly over a game of cheese or cheese and meat board.
