Wen here this past summer. A nice hair from the kitchen staff in the food. Chicken tasted like rubber. Get drinks here skip the food.

Danish pancakes are bomb. Different flavored butters were amazing, especially the strawberry butter. Nice staff!

Sometimes you eat at a place and the regret is instant. You haven’t even finished your last bite, or perhaps you couldn’t bring yourself to finish. I just had such a meal at Tom’s. The blandest«turkey» burger ever to exist on this material plane. I’d been here for breakfast before– such are the culinary options in Coney Island– but my New Years resolution is to never put such a mediocre meal in my body temple ever again. My partner remarked«even the soda tastes off. Old, like it’s been sitting around in a case too long.» Had planned to ride the wonder wheel, best not to chance it now. My stomach is already pretty angry. Do yourself a favor and just don’t.

Excellent omelettes and go for pancakes or French toast… they make homemade butters to die for

Nice service, the barman especially was great and really welcoming and friendly. I had pumpkin walnut pancakes and they didn’t disappoint at all. Simple but real good comfort food. Reasonably priced, great location right in the centre of the boardwalk.

We stopped for breakfast here after enjoying a stroll on the boardwalk. It’s located right on the boardwalk and offers indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a roof. If you sit outside as we did, you can take in views of the beach and people walking on the boardwalk. We also were able to have our dog with us(tied to the other side of the patio seating area). The service here is the main reason I dropped two stars. It’s a top notch location with food that we found to be pretty good. I tried the veggie omelet and my partner had the breakfast combo. Everything was tasty and freshly made and the pancakes were outstanding(a must try!!). The service was painstakingly slow and confusing. The sign asks you to wait to be seated and after waiting for 8 minutes(with staff clearly seeing us and not engaging) we opted to seat ourself. Many possible patrons who arrived after us either did the same or flat out left to eat elsewhere after being ignored. Our order was thankfully taken promptly but then we were brought some food that clearly had been sent back by another guest on the patio(literally watched them bring the food back and forth). I indicated that while this was close to what I ordered it was not my order. They then took it away and a while later we got our actual order. We had to ask a few times for condiments(ketchup and syrup). The staff was nice enough but seem to be young and not clear on each persons role. They would benefit from some guidance from the management on how to divide up responsibilities and ensure the patrons are being attended to. That being said, given the location and food quality, we would probably come back and be prepared to aggressively court our server for anything we would need!

An American diner that sits on a boardwalk with mediocre service and«fair to middlin» food quality. After walking almost one mile stretch on Coney Island’s boardwalk, party of two came to Tom’s for lunch. Table service restaurant on Coney Island boardwalk is starting to grow aside from Peggy O’Neil. Table service is notoriously slow as the staff appears high school students or too apathetic to care when distributing our utensils in piece mail– one setting at a time. Outdoor seating is available and a rooftop lounge. For Him: Cheese burger with Fries $ 13.00– not juicy but somewhat dry For Her: Chicken Caesar wrap with Fries $ 15.00– very bland and dry with lettuce that is browning. Not fresh.

I came here for a quick bite to eat while on the boardwalk. The service was pretty good. I didn’t expect the food to be good, to be honest, but it was. I had a wrap with chicken, cheddar, tomatoes, lettuce and spicy mayo. It came with fries. I enjoyed it. My friends had a quesadilla and they liked it as well. This place is a good place to stop on the boardwalk for a burger or a wrap, with waiter service.

Cold drinks, laid back crowd, live music, & the view from the rooftop is awesome! What more can you ask for?! This place was hoppin’ on a Saturday afternoon when my friend and I stopped for some drinks before heading to the beach. We headed straight to the rooftop bar and relaxed in the lawn chairs while sippin’ our margaritas. The service was good too. Good ol’ Brooklyn you can never go wrong! Cheers!

The two stars are for the food when we finally got it — it wasn’t terrible. The same cannot be said for the staff here who(on the day we visited) had no idea what they were doing, at all. It took 15 minutes from when we were seated for them to decide which of the waiters standing around was going to serve us. It didn’t get any better from there. I’ve never been in a place where all of the staff so consistently dropped glasses, mixed up orders, forgot requests or had to be hunted down to get our check. Coney Island isn’t rife with breakfast options at 10am on a Sunday, but avoid Tom’s if possible.

I took my friend who grew up on the Jersey shore to Coney Island for the first time and she wanted an ocean/beachfront eatery so I Unilocaled and this seemed to be reviewed well. We wanted an ice cold cocktail so we had frozen Margarita’s. I was shocked how good it was! I was in the mood for a cheese burger and again I was pleased with the flavor and that it was not a frozen patty type. It was a thick meaty burger! The fries were not good. They had a coating and most were soggy. The server was attentive but presumptuous which became annoying. Overall pleased and enjoyed the outdoor eating.

Toms has everything it needs to be successful but lacks the necessary management to provide a quality experience. I have seen multiple orders sit outside for 15+ mins before being served to a paying customer. In one case, a customer complained their order was cold and nothing was done to accommodate them. I’m severely disappointed in Tom’s and will advise others against coming here.

Well what to say. We got our table right away after some hour on the beach, we got water with lemon and after that nothing happened. We waited. 10 min passed, 15 min passed, we asked the host to order and she said someone will come soon, nothing happened for 5 more min and the we left. It can happen that you forgot about your guest, the table beside ours came after us but put their order pretty quick. There is a bunch of other place to choose along the beach so our longing after a cold beer was soon restored. Just sorry we wasent able to order here. The waitress was sure really nice, we just dident had the experience to see that.

Good views from the rooftop… if you can get in. Lots of reserved tables up there, but they’re empty! For the hour or two we were on there, no one was sitting at these reserved tables. Great… Had a cheese quesadilla + fries and a frozen margarita and a margarita on the rocks. Very small portions for $ 10 drinks. The cheese quesadilla + fries were so-so. Nothing special.

One of the better food options in Luna park. Not gourmet by any means, but a means to an end indefinitely. Greek salad with chicken…$ 15!!! Doesn’t even have olives in it man ! Whatevs, come here for a beer n a burger, they have a rooftop bar too.

This must be the worst burger in NYC over $ 10. A rubbery, well done patty with barely melted cheese and mushrooms sautéed in stale oil. How it’s even possible to cook with stale oil in a place with as high turnover as this, is beyond me. The sign on the way out reads ‘Thank you. Please come again.’ But it’s obvious that their business model does not rely on that happening anytime soon.

4 stars mostly for the service– some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met! Our server was all smiles and made sure to find out the ingredients of the veggie burger patty for me(vegetarian, not vegan). I also thought they had a great selection of drinks! I had tea and he had a local beer. The food was ok but kinda sub-par. The fries were cooked perfectly but had absolutely no seasoning(even salt), and same with the onion rings. My husband said his pickle was kinda gross but his burger was ok. Basically, eh on the food but yay on the smiles and service!

Maybe living in New York has made me cynical for what counts as good service — if things are efficient and polite enough then I’m usually impressed. My experience today at Tom’s set that bar much, much higher with some of the best service I’ve had anywhere. Despite having numerous and strange demands with my order and my party, the staff was incredibly kind and responsive. The manager Rafael really took care of us and I can’t say enough good things. If you’re looking for a friendly place on the boardwalk, definitely stop by.

The biggest surprise is that Coney Island now has a diner(whaaaaaa?). I needed a regular bagel fix and wasn’t sure at all we’d be able to find one on the grease-spattered swath of the Boardwalk near Luna Park and the newer amusement parks. But there it was, Tom’s, part of the new Coney Island of the 21st century. Anyway, lest you fear the gentrification of Coney Island has transformed it into a Park Slope paradise beyond recognition, keep calm and rejoice: the staff here is as Brooklyn, and as Coney Island, as it gets. I didn’t even ask for a whole wheat option for fear I’d be laughed out of the place. First two bagels I saw, butter and done. Not sure how the actual menu is, but you have nice views for sure, especially before the crowds arrive.
