I always get the combo (C4 or C9). It’s so worth it!
So for $ 11.43 (after tax), you get a chicken soft taco, a chicken & cheese quesadilla, and a steak (C4) or chicken (C9) burrito. It’s enough for dinner for myself and my boyfriend.
Knowing that this place is a Tex-​Mex, Chinese food, burger place, I’m not expecting a authentic Mexican food experience. But the food is good for what it is. Generous portion sizes as well. And they don’t skimp on the cheese or protein either!
Food is made very fast, usually get it within 5 minutes of ordering. This is the place to eat if you want cheap but delicious faux Mexican cuisine!

Typical tex-​mex food, which is not quality food. It’s fast and cheap. However, they do have a good selection of stuff and the portions are filling. It’s great when you’re ordering for delivery and for yourself, as they have a low delivery minimum order at $ 8. If you’re looking for cheap and filling food, this is definitely the place to go.

When I call Tortilla King to place our order the female that answer the phone had no manners. After we finish on phone she didn’t even say a simple word «Thank you» All business knows they only can survive because of customers! The delivery guy calls me from his car in his broken english says” Delivery is outside.” I was like ok come out of your car like all normal delivery guys do, walk up steps ring bell. He wasn’t too happy you can tell but listen dude you actually think I am going to walk outside down the steps to your car to get my delivery and pay you plus you expect a tip I am sure. No way you as delivery guy get your ass out the car walk to the door and ring bell if you want tip you walk up to the customer!!! What the hell is wrong with those ppl. They really think they own and run everything here. This was first time ordering from them and will be the last. Delivery guy turned us off with his dumb ass looking self. No class & no respect as a customer I don’t take that from any business. I always tip even if they are block away, but this delivery guy from Tortilla King thinks customers are suppose to go to his car and get the food. Hell no! Not this customer.

Where to start?
I have come to terms that Mexican food is just not Mexican food in New York about 3 months after I moved here from California. I was hoping that a place so diverse and cultured; a place where you can order Halal food on most corners and get banging deli sandwiches at 3am or Jerk Chicken in Midwood from a man who literally cooks it outside his home and isn’t a real restaurant but still manages a 45 minute wait for his bomb food would have nothing less than excellent Mexican food but that is simply not the case so from time to time I have to order my quasi Mexican food from places that I normally would not eat from. Tortilla King USED to be one of these places.
For a good two months or so (and I wont lie– there’s no shame in my game) I ordered the Steak Guacamole Plate Combo /​Cheese fries from this place because it is relatively cheap, generally arrived within 30 mins (despite the fact the delivery man drives and I live less than 5 blocks away) and I actually thought the food was tolerable. Everything seemed fine at first but slowly started slipping downhill and it all started with my delivery man.
At first he would get out of his car and actually walk the food to my door like a proper delivery but as time went on he would call me saying he was outside; he was obviously playing with my emotions because I would go downstairs and he wouldn’t be outside. He would call me a good minute or two before he turned onto my block and at the time it was winter so I would be standing outside like an asshole waiting for him to show up.
He would pull up and wouldn’t even hand me my food– he would unroll his window and I would reach my hand inside his car and grab it myself. Mind you this is how I was treated after becoming a regular customer. I would continue to order from here even though his service was terrible and I hated his guts but each time my self esteem and soul died a little. One day I woke up and realized that I am a good person and I don’t need this disrespect in my life from a damn delivery man so my order became more infrequent. I thought I was gaining control of the situation when the delivery man fired shots back.
On the last night I ever ordered food from this place him and I did our usual song and dance of me doing his job and him still being a prick about it but he really went balls out this time when, for the first time he ever looked me in the eyes and said ‘if you order from here you will need to tip more’. I was speechless– I was literally left without wind in my lungs and I thought I was about to die of a stroke by the sheer force of his comment.
(Side bar: I have always been a good tipper. I know the hell it is to be a delivery person and to work in the service industry so I over tip on most occasions especially if they do a good job.)
After the initial shock of his words I went all in. I reminded him how I always tipped him despite his general disregard for my service and his overall cuntyness. I pointed out how he would have received above the 20% I normally give him if he had actually done his job well or even gotten out of the car and walked my food to the door like a gentleman but that he was no gentleman. I calmly reminded him that he didn’t even use a bike, that his lazy ungrateful ass drove about 3 minutes to get to my house.
I grabbed my food and told him where to go. The fact I was even exchanging words with my delivery man was insufferable. From that day on I swore a blood oath I would never order from this wretched place ever again. I would rather die than eat their tacos.
Shit wasn’t even that good.

The food is good, but customer service sucks. I called for delivery and the lady on the phone had an attitude. My food got here 35 minutes after I ordered and the first thing the delivery guy asked for, was tip money. Rude.

Unfortunately, I have to give this place a horrible review. I’m mortified. We ordered from this place for the first and last time, this evening.
For starters, the delivery was super late. I am a serious foodie and I’m all about my grub, this place left me with tears in my eyes. Who doesn’t love good Tex-​Mex? Crazy people and the people that order from this restaurant because they never stood a chance.
We ordered chicken tacos (soft and hard shell), fish tacos (hard shell), a shrimp and cheese fajita, a shrimp taco (double fried hard shell with tomatoes and cheese) and an order of guacamole nachos.
Upon peeling back the tin foil, I shreaked at the sight of the artificial shredded cheese that was half melted into goop over the chicken taco. I then decided to skip the chicken and try the fish taco. The cheese was the same on all of the tacos but I took a bite. The fish tasted like frozen microwavable fish sticks. Some of the lettuce in the taco was mush and had already started to go bad. I was so hungry I forced it down. I then went for the shrimp taco. The shrimp taco was the only reason this place got a single star. The shrimp wasn’t very good but something about the double fried taco shell made everything better. The shell complimented the contents nicely. It was the one thing I didn’t regret eating. Unfortunately, I’m a glutton for punishment so, I made the mistake of trying the greenish-​gray guacamole mush that they served with the nachos. It was disgusting. It honestly tasted like a mix of lemon, lime, mayonnaise, pepper and I’m not sure what else. There were definitely ingredients used that did not belong to the traditional guacamole recipe. It was tart and sweet, two flavors you usually don’t get in good guacamole. After two small bites, I quit the meal. I couldn’t take it anymore. I refused to even try the chicken tacos, which my fiancé confirmed were gross.
I noticed there are a lack of options when ordering this type of food on Grubhub and I’m sure that many people have been driven to eat here for just that reason. Please take my advice, do not order from this place. You’ll be left with heartache and an empty stomach, or worse.
Did I mention this is a Chinese restaurant?

they mess up my order every day. and the woman is so nasty and rude. food is ok though.

Best Chinese Mexican around lol Lets face it, this is not authentic Mexican food, however that being said they do make their tortillas and they are good. I love their quesadillas. They’re quick, cheap and not too bad. Kills my stomach but I ain’t complaining.

Food is very good, not great, but not like there’s many options available in the area. The entire staff, delivery man to the horrid woman that picks up the phone, they’re all seriously RUDE with literally ZERO manners. I wish their service was better because I hate ordering from them because I hate supporting people with such negative attitudes… I’m trying to give you business… gosh darn…

Eh… This food was meh. Some days I am just extra lazy and refuse to leave my house. I usually order from another Mexican restaurant but decided I wanted to try something new. The delivery took a while too. I ordered the buffalo wings with french fries — french fries were soggy and wings didn’t have any flavor. We also ordered the combination — one chicken quesadilla, one beef burrito and one chicken taco. The quesadilla was good but pretty tiny. The chicken taco was also decent. But the beef burrito was horrible. It was soggy and just tasted like taco seasoning. We also ordered two sides of guacamole and it was horrrrrrrible. It definitely wasn’t fresh.
Ugh. So much regret.

There comes a time when you can’t stay silent anymore. I’ve been ordering tex mex from this place for about 4 months, and they are less than a mile from me. You’d think that they’d be capable of delivering an order in less than 45 minutes, at the most an hour. However, we have never received an order in under 90 minutes.
When it does come there is a 50% chance that it will most likely be cold or burnt, and on a rare occasion it’s a mixture of the two. For 4 months now when they’ve destroyed their reputation with me.
The only saving grace and what got them two stars is the chicken cheese fries (when they are hot and not burnt). Regardless, I think it’s best to avoid this place.

I would give them a 3.7if i can.
I had eaten nachos. They weren’t that bad.
Chicken was good on it. Only misfire on the whole thing was that the toppings were all. organized into different corners.
When you have nachos, you expect everything all together. Not beans on the right side, cheese and chicken on the left, etc.
And we had ordered in person-​not through delivery so there was no way a «car» could have shifted everything.
That and there was no guacamole:(
Overall it was good. Because they deliver i would definitely order from here again. Seriously the chicken wasnt that bad :)

Food came quick and looked amazing. Compared to my last Mexican meal which I previously reviewed, the food looked artful. I would definitely recommend them and will order from them again.

I ordered Shrimp Tostada and Bacon Cheese Burger. My boyfriend liked his burger but my shrimp tostada was Meh.
I personally would’nt order it again or try anything else in their menu.

The previous reviews are right about the Chinese lady being rude but I think that is how she normally acts because she always seems tired. Therefore, I don’t find it quite offensive when she talks to me in a grouchy manner. Anyway, the food here is pretty good for an okay price. I love the chicken that they have. Its seasoning compliments their Mexican rice so well. Yum!

Came here for dinner and had the grilled chicken taco salad. Great portion but a little upset at how much lettuce there was compared to the rest of the ingredients. Also, why is this place taxed if it’s cash only??? I was surprised… Also, this place is run by Asians so it’s not really real Mexican food if you ask me.

Everything that I have tried from this place has been really good. However, one of your delivery guys is rude and unfriendly. I would order more if I didn’t have to see his rude self.

Very reasonably priced, comes quick and tastes fine. It’s not a Michelin star restaurant but if you need something quick and reliable this is a solid choice.

Awful food. Came an hour late for delivery and the food was cold. They refused to refund me even a little and told me next time that I ordered they would give me a discount. Why would I want to order from a place that has cold, late, horrible food?

I tough Ill get very small burger. this actually was very good size burger and the most important it amazing better then any other burger bars I’ve been.
