Yeah don’t go to this place if you are a guy. Went there today, the barber asks what do i want, i said a little trim, for some reason he cuts me with #1 size. But OK, i let that go, i asked him if he could also narrow my side burns, he sort of cut them on the angle, almost like a triangle. He later on cut on top but only on one side, i had to tell him to cut on the other side. On the way out i paid for the cut, the lady in the front had the audacity to ask for a $ 5 tip. If today was Thursday i would have taken Friday off just not to go to work with this hair.

They used«THEIRSHAMPOO.» I looked at the bottle and the only English word on it is shampoo in small letters. It is obviously imported from China. My healthy hair started breaking immediately while in the salon. It is now so weak and continues to fall out in bunches with every wash and whenever I put a comb through it. I am sometimes afraid to comb and blow dry it because I lose more and more each time. There is hair on my pillow and in the shower and my hair is noticeably thinner throughout with breakage in the front at different lengths. Be warned. I thought it was a neighborhood gem, but boy was I 100 percent wrong. I am writing so this does not happen to you. I could only imagine if their«shampoo» went to a lab what would be in it. I went to a well respected dermatologist in Bay Ridge today — he confirmed that my hair was CHEMICALLYINJURED(he used the word injured). He mentioned a prescription medication that I could take but to start with Rogaine. He said not to blow dry or color my hair in the meantime(that means all spring and summer) and to get interval cuts for the split ends. It will take about 6 months to grow back. I just went there for a wash and blow dry and this is what happened. As soon as I removed the towel(before the blow dry) my hair was stiff and I could not run my fingers through it. It was pealing/breaking in the palm of my hand. I believe that this was NOACCIDENT and that the girls who«wash» your hair and the manager/owner are well aware of this problem. My hair was not washed that day. It was chemically injured. I hope the inspectors close them down next time! Trust me you may think you are getting a pretty blow dry at a good price, but eventually more will pay the price that I did!

This place is dirty. They don’t clean their brushes, they don’t clean their sinks and their shampoo/conditioning treatment is cheap and anything but cleansing or conditioning. To add to that, if a customer addresses any of these issues they fly off the handle and get defensive instead of addressing the issues. This place is horrible. I’ll never be back. Ladies beware.

I came in today to bleach my hair. Not only is my hair dry and damaged, more so than it usually would be after such a treatment, but I ended up leaving with the same look as when I came in. They put some lightening treatment in my hair twice, then added the same coloring to my hair that it originally was. This cost me close to $ 200 and now I have horribly damaged hair AND I still need to go somewhere else to get this re-done. I asked for some money back or something to make this okay, but nothing was done. My hair looks awful and I’m embarrassed to go outside.

The best place to go for a blowout! They always take me right away(without an appointment). They are SUPER fast with blow outs, they use two hair dryers at once so it cuts the drying part in half. Also they are inexpensive, which is always a plus. However, one thing I will never do again here is get my hair cut. I think it was my second or third visit and the woman who usually blows my hair out did it. Well I have very curly spirally hair and she decided it was best to cut it while it was blown out already. I ended up leaving with uneven hair, I didn’t make a big deal because it wasn’t that noticeable and when my hair is at its natural state you couldn’t tell. After learning that lesson I still go here but only for blowouts.

OBSESSED. I have really coarse, thick hair that insists on doing whatever it wants. To date, this is the best place for blowouts I have ever been to. I’ve heard that they occasionally have a bit of a wait, but I’ve always gotten lucky and have been able to sit right down in the wash chair. The cleanse has always been satisfying, like I feel like I won’t need to wash my hair for another week, they do that good of a job. They finish up the shampoo with a quick(like, super quick, like, 2 minutes max) back massage which is… Cute, really. Lol. Then comes the blowout! This no-frills joint gives you two options– straight or curly. I’ve had them do it both ways and both look ah-may-zing! The best part? They get my stubborn, frizzy hair smooth and beautiful in 45 minutes flat– from wash to finish. The bestest part? SOCHEAP. My thick hair is mid-length and they only charge me $ 18. Places like this are the best kept dream gems of NYC. I almost feel guilty leaving a review bc I don’t want to spoil the secret. Then again… It’s in Bay Ridge. Definitely worth the trip though. Promise!!!

I have gone to this salon for years whenever I’ve needed a quick blowout just because it’s so cheap and close to home, and I usually don’t have any big complaints. Until today. If you go to this salon, stay away from the blonde male hair dresser. I asked him to blow my hair out with round brushes so it would have nice curl and body, and he proceeded to blow it completely straight with a paddle brush. He then proceeded to begin to curl my hair with a flat iron, without putting any heat protectant on my hair or asking me if that’s what I wanted. I politely told him that wasn’t what I wanted, as I could see smoke coming off of my hair and could literally smell it burning, and he very rudely said«well what do you want?» I told him that I wanted him to style my hair the way I had originally requested, with round brushes, and he proceeded to actually throw the flat iron and comb in a hissy fit. He then rewet my hair and used a round brush, but he was so disinterested and annoyed at having to do it again that my hair was literally flat & straight by the time I walked out the door. I was never once rude to him or abrasive, I simply told him what I wanted. So basically he ignored what I originally asked for, then became rude and unprofessional when I asked him to correct what he was beginning to do. It was childish and very silly, and it’s a shame that he has such a bad attitude because I’m sure anyone who has a first experience with him would not be inclined to go back to the salon. I’m sure I will go to the salon again, but I will definitely ask for someone else.

I’ve been going to Trendy for blow-outs for at least 8 years. They’re great. Everyone is nice, even when the place has a line out the door on the weekends. I starting getting my hair cut here about 5 years ago and have never been disappointed, I’ve stuck with Angel and Lisa for the most part I’d recommend them both but they are usually the busiest. A couple if years ago they added a nail salon and I’d been reluctant to try it until today because it’s empty and the nail dryers looked a little old. It think it will be my new go to for a quick/cheap mani while waiting for Angel.

This place is awful, the smell of chemicals is overpowering. In addition they are rude. I went three times and each time I had a decent blowout but the service was terrible. I went back after the first time because I thought maybe they were having a bad day, busy, etc. second time was mediocre, but the shampooist was very nice so I tried a third time and it was awful, and I left with a headache from the nail and hair chemicals. They also only take cash. Take note IRS.

I love this place. It’s my go to for when I want to treat myself to a blow out. The prices are affordable and I always leave feeling beautiful. Highly recommend.

This is one of the really good places to get your hair blown out in bay ridge. They are really good with the wash and blow. The are usually really busy, but move very quickly! I’ve been going here for almost 6 years!

I have come here 5 times now and I leave happy every time. I can’t say that about any of the salons I used to goto before Trendy’s.
