Twinkle Playspace

Our 4yo walks with leg braces and a walker, and he had a wonderful time there. The entrance is completely accessible, although there is a small staircase to get to the eating area. This staircase has a low railing for children on either side. Once in, accessibility is sort of a moot point, as naturally children like to climb, and narrow spaces, and there’s plenty of that. The fact that adults can go anywhere children can go let’s us give him the physical support even in the highest and narrowest nooks, so that he can get there and have fun. If climbing and small quarters aren’t an option — and our son wasn’t into it this trip — there is still plenty to do. He loved the fire truck (2 small steps up), the water table, and the grocery store — complete with conveyor belt and fake food. A small wheelchair might just make it, but be aware that at least half the playspace is a simulated bumpy terrain, with crash pads in the way, and even tiny hills.
But most importantly, the staff was sensitive enough to let him in with his shoes because of the special circumstance. (A sensitive staff makes all the difference.) Thanks guys. (ETA: We plan to bring his ‘indoor shoes’ next time we go, which we didn’t think of this time…)
Planning to come back often with our one year old when our big kid is in school. 2 thumbs up.

I had Jojo’s 3^rd Birthday party here & it was so dope. The place is pretty big. I think I had more fun then the kids. I took a chance with letting them provide the food because it honestly was cheaper & less hassle. I’m glad I took the chance, the pizza was great (and hot) & cupcakes OMG! Communication with Mika was easy. I literally just had to saw up the day of the party & pay, No lugging decorations & gift bags. It was Awesome! I think I’ll will have my Bday at twinkle next year lol.

This place is soo cute! First time that I have gone it was with my daughter’s school Creative Academy, I loved it my daughter loved it we had a blast in the cute little hair salon, grocery store I couldn’t Ger enough of the gigantic balls we had to come back! If you need a place to drain the kiddies energy and you find yourself in Williamsburg definitely stop by! I brought my friend who isn’t from New York they had a blast she says her daughter talks about this place none stop when they come back down we’re going back!

I had my son Frankie’s 4^th birthday here and this place is truly AMAZING ! They said the only thing I needed to do was show up and they would take care of the rest, and they weren’t lying. They took care of everything ! They made sure everything came out perfect, were attentive, professional, and kid friendly staff. They made me feel so at ease I can’t even put into words how happy I am with choosing them. The place was clean and EVERY SINGLE one of my guest had a fantastic time and were so impressed by this hidden treasure in Williamsburg. They were extremely organized and had everything under control down to collecting all the gifts and having them ready in two big bags for me to leave with. The kids weren’t bored at all, and they were so entertained they literally had to be dragged out by Us Parents because they didn’t want to leave. Thank you so much for exceeding my expectations !

I had my child’s birthday party here 2 years ago and had such a negative experience, that despite liking the play space, I was never able to bring my child back here again.
They require that you get a headcount a couple weeks before the party, which is understandable. I had a different number of guests arrive to the party than RSVPed, as can ALWAYS be expected with ANY party. So 30 minutes into the party, the staff/​owners came to me and said that I had more guests than expected and I would have to pay extra.
I said, so tell me how many people there are and bill me, I’ll pay at the end of the party. They would not accept this and berated me in front of my guests and accused me of trying to take advantage of them. To get them off my back, I spent the rest of the party walking around the space trying to help them get an accurate headcount so that they could charge me appropriately.
It wasn’t until the end of the party that they figured out that they could count the number of shoes in the entryway. I had already spent the entire party either arguing with the owners about whether someone had already been counted or not, and whether the babies were over or under 10 months old and therefore would need to be charged. Then as all the guests are leaving, I am at the cash register the entire time trying to settle this stupid transaction.
They did apologize to me about their initial attitude to me, but I guess I have not forgiven them for completely ruining the party for me. My guests had a good time, and that is the only saving grace of that day.

My kids LOVE TWINKLE!!! We come often for open play as an after school treat. When we lived just up the street we would come a few weekends a month. They have open play from 9am-​noon because they are usually booked for parties in the later part of the afternoon. Now that we live further we’ve switched to after school since they are open until 6pm. My son is two (perfect place for him) and my daughter is six (she’s getting a bit old to play around so many little ones)
In this huge space there are different themed sections for the kids to explore. There’s a huge fire truck equipped with working lights and siren. The kids can also dress up to look like a firefighter. There’s a fully equipped market with an ice cream shoppe. A section of green tarp where the kids can just run around. Note: there a little trick water bed feature on the tarp that’s pretty fun to watch the kiddies try to run across it and ultimately fall. I’ve fallen as well. There’s a in closed farm themes section for little babies to play. If you bring lunch or a snack there’s is a separate eating area for that too. With a microwave! Most of the kiddies are smaller so of course that means strollers but they have a stroller parking lot that’s tucked away and the entrance is very tiddy with cool shelving for your shoes and coats.
A visit here costs me $ 45 for two kids (a bit pricey) but my kids have a blast, make a new friend every time and are completely tuckered out when we get home. Win Win all around. Definitely will continue recommending.

came for a birthday party and then separately for open play. very creative/​interactive playspace that stimulates all kinds of movement and interaction. they offer different areas where play can be either quite physically demanding (climbing/​sliding) or simply interactive (grocery store/​fire truck).
We would have visited more often (esp. during this winter), but found this place late in the season. perfect for winter/​rainy days.
staff is friendly. treat it like a playground and watch your kids.

We LOVE Twinkle. It is truly a unique space. We became members 4 months ago and take our 20 month old son there all the time. The staff is incredibly sweet and helpful. The creativity in the designs is amazing. There are so many different little areas to stimulate kids imagination and tire their energetic little bodies out. My only concern is that the rest of NYC seems to have found out about our neighborhood gem :)

My three-​year-​old and I enjoyed a wonderful winter birthday party at Twinkle Play Space.
She ran around with her friends exploring the fire truck, tree house, and kitchen, and I had a chance to meet and catch up with other parents. Coffee was provided and no one minded when I brought a cup into the play space, which for me pretty much made the party. :-)
Mid-​way through the party, a curtain was opened to a beautifully set table, with food and favors for all the kids. They happily ate and sang happy birthday, then were turned loose in the large main play area again.
Bonus: the hostess mama was relaxed and claimed that she didn’t have to do anything. I am really grateful to her for introducing us to this wonderful place!

Just went here today for the afternoon. First time visitors pay $ 25. Not the worst.
I love in Long Island city, and boy do I wish we had something like this in our neighborhood. Overall a great place to take your little ones. So many different things to explore! Water, sand, tree house, slide, disco room, art room, mini grocery store, princess salon, etc…
I took a star off for two reasons.
1, no staff supervision. (Which shouldn’t matter if #2 was not the case.
2, some parents are not supervising their children.
Everything was peachy until older kids (4and up) started rolling in around 3:30. Some of the parents just let their kids free and was having snack at the lounge while their kids trampled over toddlers. (Or sit in the corner with their cell phones)
There is an 18month and under area, which would be a nice thought, if there weren’t many big kids taking toys from the babies. I looked around for their parents, but they were nowhere to be found.
Great place for kids of all ages.
I was able to find parking within the block also.

Really nice place the chick at the counter barely acknowledged my presence. A little pricey for how small it is. Other than that it’s better than other kids play spaces I’ve taken my son to.

My friend had me meet her here on a recent trip to NYC. We’re from out of town, and for those not from NYC, the best way to describe this space is a Children’s Museum consolidated into a storefront. It has your standard Children’s Museum play spaces — slides, dress up, pretend play, water play, sandbox, etc. The owners get major credit from me for apparently designing and creating the space themselves. And for that reason, it has a very unique, organic, special feel. It was great for my son to be able to run around and play, something that was hard to do during our visit to the city in December. Speaking with a nanny, she said it was best to come during the week as the weekends and breaks get crazy. I also love that the snack area doesn’t require you to purchase their food, and the owner was quick to help point out good eats in the area.

Absolutely love playing here, unfortunate that it’s so costly, but welcome to williamsburg. It’s our go to spot on Saturday morning because they open at 8

We absolutely love it here! My son always has the best time. Incredibly over priced but we find ourselves going back anyway!

We just had our daughter’s first birthday here last weekend and it was absolutely amazing.
We decided to go with their space rental option since we wanted to do an extended menu and had lots of adults coming. This option is affordable and allows you to bring everything in (food, drinks, cake, etc.) while having their staff help with set up and break down. We booked Twinkle in October and it was so pleasant working with them. I had a million questions and Vanessa and Mieka answered every single one so patiently and thoroughly.
On the day of, our rental time started from 4:30 pm, but my parents, uncle, husband, sister and I got there early (4 pm) and they began assisting us in set up without a problem. Pamela and two other lovely ladies were there that night. These three ladies were crucial in set up! They provided awesome table cloths that matched our theme exactly. They provided a hot water dispenser so that we could have a hot cocoa bar. They cut table runners, laid out favors, plates, and napkins, provided burners when we discovered we forgot ours, arranged drinks, took out the cake, and so much more. Throughout the entire party they checked in on us to make sure everything was ok, made suggestions about where and when to do things, and politely kept us on schedule. I don’t remember the last time we worked with such pleasant, professional staff! The ladies even rinsed our utensils and wrapped them in tin foil at the end of the night. They were under no obligation to do that and yet they did. We are so appreciative of their help.
I think the best part about having our party at Twinkle was how much fun all the kids had! We had 16 kids from ages 3 months to 14 years old and they all had a BLAST. My friend said that her girls’ jaws dropped the moment they walked in. Another friend said her husband said that it was the best kids party he’d ever been to! The kids were all running around, climbing, pretending to run a grocery store, sitting in the beauty parlor, dressing up like firemen — their parents had to drag them away at the end! In the end, its all about the kids.
Twinkle has no competition whatsoever. I researched for months and nothing even came close to this place. They really know what they’re doing. For detail-​oriented parents who want their kid to have a truly memorable, spectacular first birthday, book Twinkle right away. It costs a bit more than other venues (not by much though) and it is worth every dime.

First thing is first — we love this place! The owners are great, the staff is awesome, the design is pretty much perfect, so thought out and so imaginative!
We had son’s 4^th birthday party there yesterday. True, it’s expensive, but all the kids had a blast, and so did the adults (since we brought some mimosas and a tiramisu for them to enjoy whole their little ones played).
I read the complaints, and agree that the hoses on the fire truck should be fixed, and that there should not be a two months time limit on the 6 visit packs (or at least, make it last longer), and that it is not the place for you if you have more than 1 child but less than 3 or 4. But hey, it is the best play space I have ever seen. And I saw a LOT!

Came here for a Princess and Knights birthday party on Saturday and loved the imagination that went into creating the facility. Different corners of the room had different themes: water theme, city scape with fire engine, kiddie grocery store, beauty salon, farm, etc. There were intricate tunnels and rope bridges that the kids went nuts for. Even a little waterbed like portion of the floor that was covered in astroturf. I liked that there were costumes and props for the kids to play with. The best was the hidden door in the magical forest that opened up into the party room. The table was elaborately set for everyone’s individual mini pizzas and beverages. There is an upstairs cafeteria type area for adults to buy drinks and snacks from a vending machine.
That being said, I thought this was a great place to throw a party. It was different (at least to me). I cannot comment on pricing as I was guest but I would imagine it was a pretty hefty tab. All the little girls got tiaras, wands and tutus. The boys got styrofoam swords and shields. I see from the other reviews, that the passes and admission rates are pretty highi. I would be interested in knowing how much supervision is done during ‘normal’ days as I could see some overly exuberant kids getting hurt. But I think it is completely worth it for a one time party.

this place is visually adorable & designed so creatively that as an independent business you just want to love & support it. although upkeep since its opening has not been consistent as it is definitely showing wear & tear: the forced air dragon feature that shoots scarves is constantly broken (pipes fixed with duct tape), the water play area is dirty as are the dress up clothes & accessories, the fire truck hoses won’t both shoot water simultaneously, etc.
YET THE ABOVE ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO MY CORE COMPLAINTS:
A) price is absolutely absurd for drop-​in play (have been arbitrarily charged anywhere from $ 27-​$ 35, depending on who is working)
B) after X amount of visits they essentially force you to get a 6 visit pass for $ 150 that, get this, EXPIRES IN TWO MONTHS. this is insane, especially if you don’t live in the immediate area, and is the primary issue that makes me so dislike twinkle when i want so badly to adore it.
of course i used only 3 of my 6 visits within the 2 month period & they were unwilling to make exceptions past the expiration date.
my consumer thoughts on this: if you pay $ 150 for your child to play 6 times, it should not expire UNTIL YR CHILD HAS PLAYED SIX TIMES, because, well, YOU PAID FOR IT. or, at minimum, it should last a year. 2 months before expiring is, at best, completely insulting & at worst, kindof criminal.
C) there are two slides at twinkle. the taller of the two is so high, so steep, so slick, so fast and SO MIND-​BENDINGLY DANGEROUS it absolutely mystifies that they have yet to make any safety modifications on it. my child is not allowed on it & he knows that, but when i go there i literally watch kids (and adults!) of all sizes destroy themselves on this slide, one directly after the other, often limping away and/​or crying. there is only 1 safety mat at the bottom of this slide when there should easily be three to catch the FULLY AIRBORNE slidegoer on his/​her descent.
despite their epically unfair 2014 era williamsburg caliber pricing practices, i am fairly confident it is going to be a lawsuit surrounding THIS DEATHTRAP OF A PLASTIC SLIDE that puts them out of business.
D) lastly, employees seem to totally hate their gigs. i cannot think of even one sunshine-​y standout.

The kids are on spring brake mid of April and snow ice was last night.
It’s was cold for playground so we were looking on a indoor playground. We founded the twinkle place.
The prices look high but we said that we will try it!!!
After we came we understood why they charge like that.
The place is super nice and clean.
The Reston super clean also .
They have activities that you never see in other places.
Super original.
The crew staff are great and very friendly .
The owned is very nice too.
Very very very recommended !!!

The place is the cutest! It is more so geared for younger kids. It absolutely sparks imagination and kids can run freely without any parental fears or them getting lost or hurt.
