Took my daughter there for a facial. Esthetician proceeded to tell us not to expect much because my daughter has acne and that she she see a dermatologist. We told her that my daughter was seeing a dermatologist and the dermatologist recommended getting facials. She was still hesitant. My daughters acne was not that severe so I was confused by her hesitation. I had thought that it was people with skin problems that usually got facials why else did they advertise facials specifically for acne? We left and she got a great facial at Omni. We told The Esthetician there about experience at Venelle and she didn’t understand why there was a problem either. I guess Venelle is a bit snooty and didn’t like how we looked.

I saw Sabina a few days ago for my first-​ever wax. She made me feel so comfortable in spite of being so, um, exposed. I am happy with the results and appreciate the ladies of Venelle for being welcoming and friendly.

UPDATE: the manager didn’t call me, but the owner did! She was very apologetic and has given me a free treatment of my choice next time. I will certainly come back for a visit, because they made it right!
I was thoroughly excited when a salon/​spa so close to my house has the NuFree product I love so much, so I made an appointment. I just left and how disappointed I am. I ran from work to get there on time for my appointment and Lucy was 30 minutes late!!! When she showed up to get me, she didn’t even apologize. She said nothing. How rude! Is this how you treat a BRAND NEW CLIENT? The only, and I say ‘only’ right now because I am waiting for a call back from the manager, is the front desk girl. She was super sweet and very apologetic. Let’s see if the manager makes this right, cause right now it’s very wrong!

Ask for Donna! She is amazing. She treats all her clients like personal friends! She remembers your preferences and details about you she is so warm and welcoming! I love her! And she makes my eyebrows look perfect! I’ve been other places but I’ve stuck with Donna because she’s the best.

I went for a brow wax. I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist. I was seen at my scheduled appointment time, the girl who did the waxing was friendly and gentle (well, as gentle as possible ha ha ha) and the price was right.
I will recommend this place. I might get a haircut here one day too. The customers looked pretty happy.

Good and competitive back wax for men. Professional staff, easy going and nice atmosphere for men. I was not intimidated and treated warmly. The back wax was my first ever, and was given instructions on washing and caring the sensitive areas where hair was removed. Will return!

Michelle is just the perfect aesthetician who knows what you need /​not always the same as what you want!

I’ve been coming to Venelle for years for my Brazilians. I usually see Donna or Luba but honestly all of the estheticians are amazing and the prices are very reasonable. All the staff are friendly and the space is clean and welcoming as well. I love Venelle for all my waxing needs!

I have seen all of the estheticians at Venelle, by far the best is Annabell. For those who do not want to experience high levels of pain, Annabell is the person to see to get waxed. She is skillfully talented on how to make your waxing experience as painless as possible. An added bonus she is hilarious. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

I saw Luba for many years at Élan. When she left, the front desk didn’t tell me where she had gone so I found someone else in Manhattan to do my facials. When that person retired last year, I started googling and found that there was a Luba at Venelle. When I found out it was the same Luba, I was thrilled. I have been going to here for my facials since ⁹⁄₂₀₁₅. She is gentle, thorough and professional. I always come in with clogged pores. The extractions she does for me are painless. I always feel great when I leave! Thank you, Luba!

Donna is great … Very professional and neat… I’m pleased and I will be back …

Today was my first time here, I had Nufree underarm hair removal session which was amazing. The website says that eventually you will only need to return for 1 – 2 treatments a year but I don’t know how much I believe that. It’s basically a stronger wax from what my aesthetician Luba said. The place was spotless and service was very good. My appointment was for 7 and I didn’t have to wait more than a minute. Luba was very thorough, asked me to check and make sure she didn’t miss a spot and although she missed 2 – 3 very thin strands, she quickly tweezed them. She’s amazing! I have never had my underarms waxed but she assured me it would be quick and painless which it was. I’ll update after my next session!

I been going here for couple of years, usually during the summer for my total waxing, they pretty good and gentle. I love the rooms are very private and spa like without been crazy expensive. I will try the facial soon let see how it is. I did my eyebrows once with then and did not like it.

I have been coming here for about a year now and let me just say I love this place. Everyone in here is so nice and welcoming. I only come here for my waxes. I’ve had it done by a few people who were all great, but my favorite is Donna. She makes you feel so comfortable and tries to help ease the pain.
I do wish that management would stop raising their prices! I would come here more often if it wasn’t so expensive. However, aside from the price, everything else about this place is great.

Donna is the best waxer around — forget about going to other places.
She’s very experienced and always makes the sessions as pain free as possible.
I’m Brazilian and I have to say that no one can do a better job for me in NYC.

I had a haircut here that I was not fully satisfied with. When the owner heard that I was unsatisfied she contacted me personally to apologize. She then put me in contact with the manager of the salon who was very kind and understanding. He listened to my complaint and offered to recut my hair and refund my money.
While I may not have been satisfied with my cut from the stylist that I worked with I was very impressed with the high level of customer service. The owner and manager went above and beyond to be sure that my dissatisfaction was resolved, and it was.

Can’t confirm if it was actually bait-​and-​switch but the service I booked came out $ 10 more.
Anyway, no shoulder/​neck massage AND aggressive product up-​selling during a $ 95, 45-​minute facial. SO NOT RELAXING. Don’t tell me I should ask my husband to buy the cream you are slopping on my face.

This is a great place for summer waxing, ladies (and gentleman!). It’s the best bang for your buck at $ 56 for a Brazilian.
Dana is super nice, funny and thorough. I was in and out of there in less than 20 minutes, and it was nearly pain-​free.
Heads up: Cash only for tips, so make sure to bring some green.

I’d give ZERO STARS if I could!
I scheduled a massage+facial for my husband and I this weekend. The massage was fine. Then, I had my facial with Michelle. At first, she seemed to be in a hurry, and I wondered if she would give my 45min facial or would finish before that. She did give me the full 45min, so I could say the 1 star is for that.
I usually have facials once a month, and I have tried several places in the city, so I actually know what to expect from a facial. While I do not think it was a facial, I agree the products they used are good products. However, my biggest problems with the facial were:
1. The lady was in a hurry and I couldn’t relax, with the impression I was bothering her.
2. She was loud and sloppy. She would turn the faucet on (to wash hand and utensils, I suppose) as if she were in her kitchen. My previous experiences are NO FAUCETS RUNNING whatsoever, but I do usually hear some splashes once in a while, which I believed to be the person washing everything in a quiet manner. Also, she kept bumping in the bed, and at some point pushed the bed a few inches. Not harmful, but, not a relaxing experience.
3. The «strawberry facial» is actually a facial massage. She kept massaging my face, head, shoulders, arms and hands. It SEEMS nice, but, she would put cream after cream, *and bring her hands greased with cream back to my hair!* I felt the cream in my hair, then my hair started to get (feel) wet and greasy. I also felt my face really greasy. The feeling was as if someone had give me a massage with hair conditioner, and left a think layer of conditioner in my face, which eventually started to dry out.
4. SHE KEPT BRINGING THE CREAMS TO MY HAIR! I left the salon with a horrible greasy hair. She kept resting her (with moisturizer) in my forehead and hair, also massaging the back of my head with the moisturized hand. My hair was greasy up to about 2−3inches from my face and neck. I had NEVER experienced something like that.
When I left, I talked to the person in the front, explained everything to her. She said «sorry» (which was nice) and charged my $ 340 for the entire service.
I was going to PrettyPlease ($ 120) to have my monthly 60min facials, but was hoping to find a nice please near home. For the $ 72.50 I paid at Venelle for a 45min, I’d expect WAAAAY more. I’m NEVER coming back. Which is a shame, because they’re 5min from home and the massage was nice.
