Came here for a few drinks and dinner Allie was fantastic. The crowd here was welcoming and friendly. The perfect pregame before a concert!

Great service, friendly staff! We all ate here and they were more then accommodating. The owner was running the bar and made us feel like locals.

WARNING: SKIPTHISPLACE I am a very fair Unilocal reviewer and I don’t spout reviews like this unless they are sincere. To be fair, I added an extra star due to the tasty mac n’ cheese with jalapenos. Everything else was simply awful(ambiance, food and drink options). The worst part of our experience was the bartender. We came to Woodwork last weekend since we wanted to watch the NBA playoffs. Spouse and I sat at the bar and bartender asked what we wanted… I am not a beer drinker and I felt like said bartender immediately felt disgust towards me because of that. He was completely apathetic, uninterested and simply rude. We had to FLAG him down to get his attention and the whole restaurant was virtually empty. Further, he continually rolled his eyes at us and we literally had no clue why he had such disdain. We were a couple, sitting quietly, watching the game… We ordered the nuts because we were told they were delicious. They were god-awful nasty. Basically mixed nuts basted in cocoa pebbles. We also ordered the pickles(cornichons) — ok, but a waste of money. The mac n’ cheese was good. I ordered another non-beer drink and bartender just ignored me and never brought it. Again, presumably because he was disgusted that I didn’t want beer. When bartender brought over our receipt, it was not itemized. We literally were so turned off by him and everything about that place that we just paid and left at half-time. #Neveragain

Arsenal bar my arse. I came here to watch the last game of the season and Arsenal was on one tv and fans had to fight to get commentary of the game. What? The bar was full of Arsenal fans cramming to view the one tv, while 15 people were watching league games on the other four tvs. Woodwork can be described as a futbol bar, but it’s definitely not an Arsenal bar. The bartender threw a hissy fit about changing the sound system from punk rock music to the Arsenal game. After the switch, she stormed outside and disappeared for 20 mins, leaving the cook alone to serve food and drinks to 70+ people. I was sitting at the bar and when the bartender came back, it was hard to enjoy the game with her slamming ice and cups, and stomping around saying ‘f this’ and ‘f that’ for the remaining hour and a half of the game. It was a great day for Arsenal so I left the bar happy but I won’t watch another game here.

Came here on a whim one Sunday afternoon for drinks. Not bad, seems more like«a soccer on the TV/I drink only imported beer kinda place.» We were just here for beers, it didn’t make much of an impact on me, not a place I could ever see myself frequenting. But the staff was great and I am sure others would like it if they came.

A pretty chill dive bar that you should make part of your Vanderbilt Ave pub crawl. The atmosphere is solid and the bartender is a nice guy. It’s versatile enough that it could be the first or the last bar you go to in a night.

Great Futbol bar! The grilled cheese was a bit too breast, but overall delicious. Had a diverse beer selection, and $ 8 for a beer and well shot is a cannot beat. I will definitely go back to watch more matches.

Done with this place. Lifelong Arsenal supporter and I’ve gone just about every weekend for as long as I can remember. Bartenders are now largely rude and the owner cocks an attitude and acts like he’s doing you a favor by serving you the drink that you asked for, even when it arrives 20 min after the fact. I really don’t understand why they’ve started giving rude side comments to their most loyal patrons. The new ones expect nothing different. This place has gone so downhill it’s actually depressing. Going to he more appropriately named The Highbury on Courtleyou instead. Up the Arsenal.

I don’t really remember much of this place(but the parts that I do remember were great). Got some seats at the bar on a Thursday night, no problem. Crowded enough to be fun, but not annoyingly so. They had delirium tremens for $ 8. Plenty of beers on tap. Friendly bartenders. Yeah, I’d go back.

Nothing worse than calling ahead to confirm that a bar masquerading as a soccer pub is playing your match only to show up and be met with indifference and serious attitude. On an important match day, I felt like watching the game on a bigger screen. I had heard that this bar prided itself on being the best non-denominational soccer supporters pub in the neighborhood so I called ahead to make sure they could show it. When I get there and ask for the bartender to put on the match(at this time, all of the EPL matches had ended, the bar was pretty empty and there were only showing post-game commentary) he just ignored me while he continues a conversation he was having. After a few more minutes and me asking again, he goes to look for it and tells me they don’t have the match. A little surprised and upset I let him know that I had called ahead and was assured by the other bartender when I ordered my drink(10 minutes prior) that they could play it. «Yeah? You didn’t call me.» Sorry, I didn’t have your extension. He finally figures it out and puts it on, but switches the audio to a different game. After all this, he asks if I wanted a beer(I had been drinking a soda, which I tipped generously for). For health reasons, I don’t drink so I politely declined. «God, all that for a seltzer?» No, all that for my MATCH. I had to rush home to catch the rest of the game. because I didn’t feel like watching the game with no audio that close to this bartender. What a waste.

Great spot for soccer-watching, or for grabbing a beer while waiting for your seat at Chuko. Regarding the soccer: it is an Arsenal bar, so if you’re a fan of another team… I’d keep it to yourself if I were you.(I’m speaking from personal experience here. Don’t wear your opposing team jersey to a cup match.) The TV situation is pretty good, though if you’re trying to catch another game while the Gunners are playing, you’re probably out of luck unless Real Madrid is on. The food here is surprisingly good for noshing on during those early morning weekend games(Cubano sandwich, mac & cheese, waffle, and the really freaking awesome«snack bacon»), and the pints of Guinness are well-pulled. The draft list isn’t much to write home about, but there are some good and reasonably-priced cans available(a few 21st Amendment selections, usually), plus there’s a «F*ckit Bucket» with six cheap cans for $ 15. Order a couple of those, work fast, and either a) your team losing to Arsenal won’t seem as bad, or b) that ramen will be extra tasty once you get across the street.

Soccer fans never had it so good in NYC. Woodwork is well laid out, with multiple TVs covering all sight lines in the bar. If you’re an English Premier League fan, you won’t find a better spot in NYC to watch a match. What really sets Woodwork apart from other soccer bars is Chef Ross’s food. The bacon mac n’ cheese is insane; I’m pretty sure the secret ingredient is crack, because I am hooked. PROTIP: If you’re waiting for a table at Chuko across the street, give the hostess your cell number and head to Woodwork for drinks. That 45 minute wait goes by much faster once you walk in Woodwork’s doors.

The only place to watch football in NYC. Christian, Rodger, and Ross are great bartenders who are always friendly and extremely attentive. On top of that, the food rocks and the beer selection is great. They accommodate every fan the best they can by putting your team up on their tvs and as a NYCFC pub, you can watch every match here. Even if there isn’t a match on, come check this place out. Awesome atmosphere and great bar.(Even though it is infested with Arsenal fans).

Great little bar with some awesome finger foods and local beer. Very chill, laid back location. Not too crowded when I went there with my husband. They do make drinks there, don’t make the beer only look fool you. They wiped up some bacon glazed with goodness while we drank. Great little spot while you are waiting to get a seat for dinner elsewhere or to just hang out with some friends.

Live sports are best watched in a crowd. So are comedies. But the crowd at a soccer game or soccer bar is important. And the crowd at Woodwork can be passionate, and generally polite. That’s a pretty good combination. Co-owner Matt is also super cool. Nice guy, engaging, good bartender. Other bartenders, they’re fine, will pour a beer as good as any regular person. But as Danny Meyer(I think) said, people will visit once for the food, but come back for the service. And the service here is friendly. The food is good too. In general, New York is kind of crappy with its gastropubs. But despite not having a real kitchen, what they serve is good. Combine all these elements, and it’s a place worth going.

The bartender was a dick. Really slow, no thank you and no you’re welcome. Gave me my drink and just stood there. Asked him how much it was. «Nine dollars,» he said, real annoyed. I guess I was supposed to just know by intuition how much the drink cost? Also all the patrons of the bar were obnoxious, bro-y middle aged soccer guys. Two fat guys were kicking around a soccer ball in the back, and it flew towards the bar and knocked over their phone. That was kind of funny. Also soccer sucks.

I was in the neighborhood waiting for a table at chuko so the wife and I decided to kill some time at woodwork. My past experiences in most brooklyn bars were terrible so I was expecting the same. Boy was I wrong. I was immediately greeted with a smile and felt welcomed. The bartender was great. She was very friendly, took your order right away, all while looking after all of the other patrons needs as well. A one woman army. They have a large selection of beer in bottles, cans, and tap. I ordered the flying dog raging bitch. That was a tasty but strong beer in my opinion. So naturally, I loved it. Too bad I had to drive back home that night. I would’ve loved to chill there for the rest of the night with the old lady. I also ordered the brown sugar bacon snack. Man that snack was so tasty, I could’ve snacked on it all night and would’ve been satisfied not eating anything else. I would definitely return and highly recommend.

This was another one of my favorite spots when I lived in Park slope. We used to play flag football game every Sunday afternoon at the Brooklyn tech high school field right around the corner. And afterwards this is usually where we would end up to grab food and drinks. Pre-much everything on the menu is pretty decent here. And really not bad for a bar anyway. More of a sports gastropub if you will. I like the olive plate and pickles to start. The mixed cheese and meat plates if you’re feeling more ambitious. For your meal you can’t go wrong with any of the sandwiches, including the grilled cheese, the hammy, the Portugal, cubano or Don Q. Lots and lots of brioche, manchego and gruyère to be found on the menu here. Heaven for your foodies who like savory to complement your drink. As for the beverages, well they offer plenty of beer wine and cocktails. You can get Pork Slap beer if you’re on a budget. But if you want a true Brooklyn specialty make sure to buy a round of pickle backs. Apparently the pickle back was created in Bushwick, and true to its roots, this Brooklyn bar does it justice. Cheers!

Found this bar while looking for an Arsenal NYC Supporters Club and decided to give it a shot. Best decision I’ve ever made. They have 5 flat screen TV’s so you can watch the game from any seat in the house. If there are several games on they will show them all or put a game on upon request. One thing really struck me by surprise here. The food is good. Like reeeeeeeeally good. Great even! After talking about how great the truffle macaroni and cheese was I found out why that was. Ross. Chef/bartender/knowledgable soccer fan Ross not only graduated from a great(the best?) culinary school, but he also worked under four of the best chefs in America. Ross also has one hell of a memory. He knows all of his guests names, drinks, favorite teams, etc. Great staff, great food, great drinks, perfect place to watch a game. I highly recommend going to Woodwork especially for an Arsenal game.
