Great team of fellas over at Works. I’d bring my old Honda to them with any issue and after my first experience with them, I think they will tell you straight and do right by your bike.

Got my first bike a 1975 honda CB200 off of craigslist and almost immediately started having problems with it. After taking it to this shop all problems were resolved for a reasonable $ 300. Could not be happier with the service that was provided, and currently get all my work done their.

The bike was never running. I stopped by on a bicycle and the conversation was about specific issue with a non-​running motorcycle. I sent you a message for clarification.

Small shop, only two full time mechanics. Since they work on all bikes they are not necessarily experts on any one brand or model. The plus side is it appears they will work on bikes that other shops might not touch.
This shop was recommended to me by an acquaintance. I called and left a message once. Ian from the shop returned my call with a message. When we finally connected on the phone he told me to swing by anytime they are open so he could have a look and talk more about what I’d like done. Although I felt he cut the conversation short due to a call on another line I understand that time is money. I decided to take it over and evaluate the shop for myself. Since I just bought a used bike I wanted to have it checked by a mechanic to make sure it was safe to ride and get a little more knowledge about bike maintenance. Ian was able to schedule me for a ½ hour diagnostic the same day I showed up with Gabriel the mechanic. He was knowledgable and professional and answered my questions, gave me a new plug and many tips on what to keep and eye on and what parts to replace first. $ 50 well spent.

Nice guys but unresponsive and not good mechanics. Last fall, I brought my bike in there after a month wait. I was having fuel flow problems. $ 300 and less than 6 miles later, I break down on the brooklyn bridge. Towed back to them and now a $ 1000 carb rebuild and another month wait. 5 miles later, another breakdown and tow back to the shop. Still experiencing the original problem. I’m told I have to wait another 4 weeks for them to take a look at it. I ask them why they don’t back up their work and am told the mech that wrenched on my bike no longer works there. The shop manager relents and spends about 45 mins on my bike. It seems to be fine but then I break down again 3 miles later.
So 6 months and $ 1300 and I’m exactly in the same position I was before I walked in. There comes a time when you have to cut your losses and move on. They’re not touching my bike again. I’d pass on this shop.

Works was great, they were my go-​to motorcycle shop (I’ve since moved). I am very surprised by the low rating on Unilocal,but its mostly from old reviews. The guys here were really helpful, I’ve stored my bike here and had them fix a couple issues I couldn’t figure out.
Prices were quite reasonable, and the service and attitude from the guys here is great. The only thing I would mention is I’ve had trouble getting ahold of them on the phone, but if you are in the area I would just stop by.

For the past month or so I’ve been trying to get my bike running after winter storage.
A few friends reccomeded taking it over to works… so I pushed it over. (fck me)
They took a look at it and asked me a bunch of questions to acess what and told me they think they know what the problem was, how they were going to fix it and to come back in an hour (even though they were busy after a holiday weekend.) Easy.
I walked to 5 leaves, got some lunch… Half an hour later they call me letting me know the bike is ready, what the problem was and they are charging my battery and I should be ready to go. Came back. Checked it out, chit chatted for a few and went on a ride.
I don’t understand all the complaints. Their job is to get it to work, your job before riding any motorcycle is to inspect the bike to make sure it is safe to ride. That’s like dummy 101.
I even came back a few days later to replace the idol jet as it had fallen out. (uh, its a 45 year old machine… it happens) They recharged my battery and helped me with a few other things and just charged me for the parts. Great service, excellent attitude.

Turns out they forgot to refill my radiator after flushing it. WTF! Definitely double check your service no matter where you go, and works is no exception.

Dangerous Shop — Totally Unprofessional

AVOID AT ALL COST. There are so many great shops in and around NYC. These guys are extremely unprofessional and it’s only a matter of time before their poor reputation and service catches up to them and they close. The owner Eric is a piece of work. Sloppy work and unknowledgeable. Go somewhere else. You’ve been warned.
