This place is a solid go-to for me in this neighborhood. I’ve tried the few Mediterranean spots in this area, and this place is definitely my favorite. I get the leg of lamb sandwich regularly. The meat is moist, tender, and abundant. The pickled accoutrements are great. And the best part? Their delivery is on point. 9 out of 10 times, they deliver BEFORE the estimated time. The delivery guy always has a smile on his face. What a dream! But one tiny little complaint? The grape leaves aren’t that good. The leaves they use are so thick that they are coarse, chewy, and takes a good finger-wrestle to take a bite. But besides that minute detail, this place is one of my favorites.

Delicious! And SO cheap. The combo plate, zaatar and garlic breads, and falafel are fantastic!

My family and I love this spot. Of course the food is fresh and delicious, but the warm welcome and caring staff is why we keep coming back. Particular dishes that stand out: lamb pizza, grilled shrimp platter.

Delicious, affordable, and one of the friendliest and most courteous waiters I’ve ever had in New York City. Got one of the pizzas, some hummus, and grape leaves. All were fresh, tasty, and hit the spot. Easy on the wallet and even easier on the stomach.

It’s cash only and the food took a while, but the service was great and I’m a sucker for Middle Eastern food and this place was heaven. I got the chicken shawarma platter with hummus and my friend got the chicken kebab platter with baba ghanoush(she said the baba ghanoush was underwhelming) and it did not disappoint. It was so damn tasty. WOOHOO

I liked their Clinton hill location, and when I moved near this location, I was glad to see them near. Their not on seamless anymore but I always get the roast chicken and rice, yogurt sauce, and the combo plate with hummus, babaganoush, taboulle, and other stuff with extra pita. Ordering by phone is easy, especially with the menu pages app to see the menu. Website on my phone failed… Enjoy and #getfat!

Whenever I am in Brooklyn, I travel to Zaytoons to pick up something on my way back home. Their lentil soup is amazing, as well as any of the dishes that have lamb. I usually go to the one on Myrtle street but happened to be by the Vanderbilt location. Just as good! FYI — they only accept cash but there’s an ATM machine inside the restaurant.

I come here for lunch 3 times a week. Everything is made in-house, very well seasoned and delicious. I’ve tried the tuna sandwich, the chicken shawarma and the veggie kebob wrap as well as the fatoosh salad. The chef here knows what he’s doing for sure. Food takes a bit of time to come out but that’s because it’s all fresh made to order. One star was left off since its cash only, but there’s an ATM on site.

Zaytoons is the ideal location in the neighborhood for a weekend summer dinner spot with friends. We went with some friends to the outdoor patio space — a really strong smell of citronella candles hits you, but once you get past the smell you are immeasurable grateful that those buggers are far far away! Its cozy, simple seating with tasty affordable mediterranean food. I’ve been here countless times and the food is always great — we had warm pita with a few apps, the hummus is a must have! We enjoyed various sandwiches: the falafel, kafta, chicken schwarma. All really good! We were joking during dinner that this place definitely channels the Paris ethic of eating — you don’t get a whole lot of service, but you can sit and enjoy meal and company for as long as you want. Cash only, blech, hate it but have no choice when you’re in Brooklyn. Otherwise a great summer spot! I mean, come here the other seasons too, I just won’t vouch for the outdoor patio space when hell freezes over in a few months.

I’ve eaten SOMUCH Zaytoons in my day, I gotta write a review. Zaytoons is a pretty low-key place, with super reliable, fresh food. I’ve heard people complain that they’ve had stuff that wasn’t great, and I’ll admit, I too have had items that weren’t my favorite in the world. But overall I enjoy the food and a few items are completely knock-out amazing. And I’ve never had anything terrible! The people who run it are awesome and the service is always good, but again, LOWKEY. It’s not a fancy dinner-out kind of place. I honestly prefer carry-out though sitting in their back garden is nice too. My favorite items: –Lentil Soup: it’s lemony and vegetarian and incredibly comforting and flavorful –Rosewater lemonade: so refreshing, so delicious. –Cucumber yogurt: I have eaten more of this than makes any kind of sense. It’s so good. –Pita: it’s always fresh from the oven. I’ll admit it’s occasionally not done all the way. but that’s rare, and when it’s done, it’s heaven.

Good vegetarian options! With an option of eggplant humus or regular hummus! Tried the eggplant hummus(starts with a B) and it was great! Large portions with a beauty outdoor setting. Outdoor setting — beautiful but bugs fall down from the trees above! Love the area!

Updating my review because we came back and had take out, which we will NEVER do again! Had the falafel and veggie kabob platters — the salad was browned, veggies were burnt, and the baba ganoush was old and had a strange consistency. The rice was overdone and falafel drenched in oil. They told us the food would take 10 minutes but took 25 instead. Don’t get take out from here! Not sure if I’ll give them my business again.

Not 4stars worthy. Based on the reviews I opted for the popular menu items. Shawarma, Chicken Shawarma, Hummus, Labneh, grape leaves, Babagonoush, olives, pita, basically I tried 75% of the menu. Every item was painfully mediocre and borderline inedible. I’ll stick to trekking out into Brighton Beach for authentic Middle Eastern food.

Food was flavorful, prices were good, staff was very nice. However, I can’t necessarily say the staff was attentive! We had kind of an awkward order because we ordered our food to-go instead of to stay. Mine was prepared first(veggie pita sandwich), and they handed it to me as a wrap, not a pita. They did not give any napkins or utensils, just a brown paper bag. I was starving so I started eating it as we were still waiting for the other orders, and then… explosion! My wrap leaked everywhere. The wrap was still perfectly intact(did not fall apart) but all this liquid came out of it. There was a ton of grilled veggie juice or water or something, and I got all over my purse, my jacket, my shoes, and the floor. It leaked through the wax paper, tin foil, and brown paper bag. That’s not supposed to happen, it stained everything, and it was gross. I don’t know why there was that much liquid in my wrap to begin with. I had to ask them for extra napkins and a fork and a plastic bag. After my sandwich was done leaking everywhere, it ultimately did taste good.

Went here last minute & glad we did. Good spices & marinate. The shawarma & lamb shish kabob tender & great flavor. Service was quick, nice & efficient. Prices were good for the amount of food we got(platter).

Definitely great vegetarian and vegan options. I dined with a large group and we shared a couple combo platters. My favorite items were the baba ganouj, fresh falafel, and the stuffed grape leaves.

Mediterranean fusion is what best describes this food! It’s a small intimate place on the corner of Vanderbuilt in Prospect Heights. There was a large party of us and I give the waiter kudos for his patience and service. Did I mention he has the biggest head of dreads i have EVER seen in my life!!! Anyway… They offer a select few wines and beers(not very extensive at all). We ordered the Zaytoon’s combo plate(choose any 5 app’s) with hummus, Labneh, grape leaves, Moujadarra and pita. Everything was delish and fresh pita bread just kept coming! I normally do NOT like grape leaves but these were delectable and are definitely worth a try! For my entrée I ordered the shrimp kabob platter. Holy a lot of food batman! And not only my platter. Everyone’s plate was overflowing with food. After chowing down on the appetizers, like it was my job, it was hard to eat my meal! The shrimp were a top cous cous and mixed veggies. The shrimp were large but a little dry for my taste though seasoned well. The cous cous and veggies were alson seasoned well and cooked to perfection. Though I am not a huge Mediterranean food fan, if I got a hankering for it, this is where I would want to go to meet that craving! (FYI: CASHONLY establishment)

I do like Zaytoons very much. The food is great & portions are ample. Come by in the summer and you can enjoy the backyard garden. It’s literally festooned with plants on all sides, and feels like a small jungle as you walk in. I was here recently as a warmup to a party in the neighborhood. It was epic(both dinner & the party). We ordered the zataar spiced pita bread, babaganoush, hummus, fatoush & tabouli. Even though all of these were small sides, they turned out to be rather huge portions. We could easily have dispensed with the zataar as pita comes with these dishes. But we surely were full at the end. Service was friendly and the overall experience was good.
