Renaissance Boulder Flatiron Hotel

All right, after my second stay, I can drop a star because the rooms are in need of an update, as the other reviews have mentioned.
The headboard FELL OFF OF THE WALL when I pulled the sheets down to get in bed. Luckily it didn’t kill me and I was in a two-​queen room, so I just used the other bed.
The blackout curtains are a half foot from the window, so light pours in, directly into the bed pillow area. I mean there was a beeline from the sun to my face despite blackout curtains. No good.
The hairdryer had a loose bearing which made it sound like it was going to disintegrate and fling shrapnel into my face.
NEVERTHELESS, the bed is comfy. The breakfast is the best in Boulder in this price range, and is free.
The in-​room iron is excellent. If you travel enough, this is a big deal, because you’ve had an iron that was either filled with mildew or unable to iron or dumped water all over your clothes or left residue right on the front of your shirt. (I’ve encountered all of the above.) This one is great
And the price is insane if you catch a sale on
: I stayed for under $ 100 a night.
So I’ll be back, but I’ll also consider staying much closer to work in Boulder. Until this stay, I was happy to commute even as a remote worker.

When I roll in here it can be early or late and no matter what the people here are the best. They are friendly and always make you feel welcome.
There is an energy and vibe here of everyone having one goal and that is to make sure you have an excellent time here.
The bar jumps with the same vibe and the service is excellent the bar tender is great and the conversation around the bar is lively.
Breakfast is second to none and I love the selection. Having that Starbucks is a nice touch.
Even though there is a full service Marriott up in Westminster (where most of my work is done) I will be back here again and again.

I stayed at the hotel during thanksgiving week and I will be back because this was such a nice Renaissance. The rooms are nice and spacious and the bed is comfy as ever. Since my boyfriend had to work the days up until the holiday I spent most of my time snowed in and wandering between the restaurant, Starbucks, and my room while inward there. The breakfast buffer in the morning was so nice and I ended up getting a delicious omelet all three days I was there.

I stayed in Room 919 which has a fantastic view of the Front Range and the Flatirons. Nothing like the sunset from that view!
The hotel lobby and common areas were VERY appealing. Recent renovations are definitely a plus. You definitely feel very fancy when you walk in the door!

Stayed here for 3 night during a recent business trip. Decent experience, a bit lacking in a few areas.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable but despite asking several times, they do not change the sheets on the bed. Also, the food catered by the hotel is not good at all, and one day we had mexican food for lunch and it tasted like it came from del taco. The meeting rooms are good, the projectors and screens are rather small so it was hard to see at the back of the room. The room echos when people are given presentations. The swimming pool closes early, and the fitness room is rather small. The machines are pretty new.
The rates are rather high for this area, and that’s with a corporate discount, we still paid close to $ 200/​night.

Our stay at Renaissance was really nice — the hotel room was great, and the staff was exceptional — especially GREG SHERMAN — we needed some advice \ guidance about local walking and hiking trails, restaurants, and other stuff, and GREG took all the time we needed to provide maps and detailed descriptions about some of the area’s hiking trails and rock climbing — he was also a great source for local restaurant suggestions.
Starbucks on the premises was a HUGE added bonus!

I spent two nights at the Renaissance last weekend, and besides having the housekeeping staff try to come in the room once while I was still getting ready, everything was good. The room was very spacious and clean. The property was quiet and well maintained. We had a chance to visit the hot tub outside, and it was nice that we got it all to ourselves. The lounge chairs were comfortable and clean towels were plentiful. I was also happy that there was a coffee shop in the lobby that has some breakfast pastries and yogurt for sale.

This place is great. My girlfriend and I have been here twice now and enjoyed both our experiences. The hotel is quite clean and pretty fairly priced for a Marriott. I haven’t been to the restaurant but the room service looks pretty expensive. $ 8 for milk and cookies but a $ 3 delivery charges and another 22% service charge. Correct me if I’m wrong but after taxes that’s roughly $ 13 for milk and cookies. I don’t like how the Internet is not free but I can live without both those. As for necessities and amenities this place delivers.

This hotel is in a great location if you are in town to visit one of the nearby businesses. The roads are super confusing — let’s call everything «Interlocken» — but the hotel is quite nice. We have had dinner in the private room at the restaurant and the food was very good. The staff is helpful and the rooms spacious.

This weekend my fiancé and I are getting married in Boulder. I found this Hotel on
for an extremely reasonable price. After much research and lots of reviews, I finally booked a King Suite with a mountain view for two nights. Let me tell you! This is only my first night here and I have been thoroughly satisfied. My fiancé and I enjoyed complimentary waters upon arrival, in addition to an early check in. Our room is wonderful, other than the fridge not being very cold. We went down to the hot tub and it was very nice in addition to cleanliness. When we turned in for the evening we decided we wanted a dessert. Which was a nice gesture since they closed in 15 minutes. Room service was super snappy. We ordered shells and cheese, chocolate cake, and 2 glasses of milk. The shells and cheese were delicious! Not your regular Mac and cheese but upscale and marvelous! The chocolate cake was moist and absolute perfection. I can’t even describe how impressed I have been thus far! Everybody is so kind and helpful! If anything changes I’ll update! Will not stay anywhere else if or when I return to this area. The only thumbs down given is the breakfast is $ 16 per person. However it may be worth it, if it’s anything like this evenings room service.
UPDATE: The rest of my visit was just as nice as the first evening. The bed is comfortable and the pillows are spectacular. The following day we went to the bar for lunch. Mona was our waitress and she is such a sweet, kind, joyous pleasure to be around. We ordered the wild game burger and sweet potato fries. They were both good but not as delicious as the shells and cheese or chocolate cake. The mimosa was on point. The following day we went to the Starbucks brewed coffee in the lobby area where Mona greeted us again and gave us complimentary Starbucks to congratulate us as newly weds! I can’t tell you how special this hotel made us feel on our stay. Exactly what we needed! We will definitely stay here again!

The front desk staff was extra helpful and informative. Greg and Kayla were the two associates that I dealt with.

Booked this hotel blind without knowing the Denver area. It’s in a great location, between Denver and Boulder, and across from a huge mall. The hotel itself is gorgeous, with ample free parking, a beautiful pool and hot tub, and the staff is just top notch. Every front desk person was accommodating and informative, and the staff at Flatz are so friendly and fun. I also appreciate that the hotel channel lineup is way bigger than most hotels — we had about 70 channels. The only drawback to this hotel is wifi is $ 9.95 a day. I would have liked to work from my room but I just did what I could with my phone, that fee was just a bit over the top. Next time I’m in the Denver area, will definitely check back with the Renaissance. Great job to the entire staff!

We stayed 3 days for my wedding here and it was incredible from start to finish if your in this area and you stay somewhere else you’ve made a mistake!

This is the second time we stayed here. I made the mistake of thinking that the room we had last time was the regular suite, but it turned out that they had upgraded us to a french door suite. The standard suite is actually a studio, but we found out the seperate bedroom was a necessity for us. The hotel did, graciously, upgrade us once more without charge.
The room was spotless and well appointed with two large HD tvs (and many of the channels were HD unlike a lot of hotels) and a small fridge. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were of high quality and the room was very quiet.
Customer service was, again, perfect and punctual, always smiling and trying to make our stay pleasant.
One evening we had room service for dessert, again, the service was impeccable. The sorbet of the moment was wonderful, as was the chocolate mousse. Breakfast at the lobby restaurant on our last day was also great.
Location for us was perfect, not only were we a short distance from Boulder, but had an easy time getting to Vail, Golden, Estes Park, where ever we wanted to go.
When we return on our third trip to Boulder we will, again, stay here.

Appealing and attractive property. Staff is friendly, rooms very spacious and attractive. Excellent lobby bar and restaurant, plenty of free parking. Great location next to Flatirons mall. 10 minutes to Boulder, 20 minutes to downtown Denver.

After my stay, and posting a negative review, I was messaged by the hotel’s management expressing regret at how poor my experience was and that was an exception rather than the the norm. I admired their honesty and going out of the way to amend things, and valuing me as a client. The GM graciously comped our stay there… And even offered to personally book our next stay, if we were ever back in town.
Now Inspite of the fact that I had a less than stellar experience, I will definitely return to the hotel when in Denver. Because I know they value their customers. And although no business is faultless and masters perfection every day, this place will do what it can to make things right!

I love this Renaissance Hotel. The room was very nice. Recently remodeled, very clean and well appointed. The décor they selected is a bit sterile — even though the wallpaper in the bathroom and behind the bed was of corn, cornfields and a girl’s short skirt… it was black/​white and didn’t add much personality. Would have thought photos should have been of local scenery instead.
I’d requested a high floor with an odd-​numbered room — to guarantee a view of the mountains. Waking up, we remarked it reminded of us of looking into a painting we’d seen in the Leaning Tree Museum. Beautiful!
We ate a light dinner in the bar/​lounge area. I enjoyed the tuna lettuce wrap appetizer and my husband ordered the veggie burger. The service was great even though the bar was super busy. The meal was very good and perfect for our appetites. We will definitely return!

There are so many positives about this place that it would be difficult to list them all… the décor, the location, the beauty, the service, the mountains, etc.
When we have stayed here, they have bent over backwards to make us feel special. They even brought us champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to our room on our anniversary and they upgraded our room for us as well. What a place!
We will be back over and over again.

I think they guys may have started a trend in the hotel business.
They were pouring FREE local craft beer at check-​in! :-)
In my opinion, that is just genius. Imagine this.
Here comes a weary guest. who probably flew in from a far, crammed in a sardine of a plane seat, drove a gazillion miles from the Denver airport (cos that Denver airport is actually in Kansas)… totally parched due to the elevation and dry air in the mile high city… and you give em a cooooooooool cold beer…

***This Renaissance is very similar to the Renaissance at Patriot Place; it is located in a suburban area, but it is a very contemporary and nice hotel with great rooms; this Renaissance also features an upscale and nicely designed lobby***
Renaissance is part of the Marriott brand and like Marriott hotels, it is a full service hotel. It is also typically a stylish alternative to Marriott. Renaissance hotels usually feature much sleeker and more youthful rooms than Marriotts and the lobby areas are hipper too – more like an upscale restaurant lounge than the typical contemporary but bland décor that many Marriotts use in their public spaces.
This Renaissance features both stylish rooms and a great contemporary and hip lobby. It is a great representation of the Renaissance brand. The hotel looks pretty generic from the exterior – sitting off a freeway in a newly developed business area. Once inside though, you get a better sense of what this hotel is going for. The lobby contrasts traditional hotel decoration (bookcases) with sleek chairs and contemporary decorations. The lounge area features comfortable seating options as well as modern outdoorsy decoration (to go with the nearby Rocky Mountains) and a very nice glass enclosed fire pit, which adds to the ambiance as well as provides warmth. The modern but outdoorsy feel continues to the hotel restaurant, which makes it feel a lot different from the straightforward décor of Marriott restaurants.
The rooms do not go for the outdoorsy vibe of the lobby, but they are sleek, modern and comfortable. Like other Renaissance hotels, the art on the walls here reflects the local area (the rooms here showcase the farm-​to-​table approach of Boulder). I was in a suite and it was nice. The suite featured several different rooms that were closed off by great looking French doors. There was a nice living room area with a couch, desk, TV, refrigerator, and a counter.
The room featured a nice bed with simple but contemporary bedding, a good headboard and another TV. There were not too many negatives. It seemed to take a little long to get the hot water going in the shower and while the A/​C unit worked well, I had to keep the the temperature low to keep the room consistently cool (this probably had to due with the size of the room).
The rest of the hotel was nice. The 24-​hr fitness center was located downstairs and it was a big and clean one with several machines. The only negative was the TV feed (a small and random collection of second tier cable stations). The meeting rooms also looked nice. Elevators were a tad slow.
Marriott Rewards Gold and Platinum members now receive continental breakfast for two at full service hotels on weekends. I have been to several hotels that are only doing the minimum requirement – a continental breakfast for two. Some allow you to get the full breakfast buffet but only if you are dining solo.
This Renaissance definitely goes above and beyond that minimum continental breakfast requirement. This Renaissance, which has no Concierge Lounge, offers a full breakfast buffet for two. The variety of the buffet was pretty good – yogurt, fruit, scrambled eggs, tater tots, turkey bacon, bacon, sausage links, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy, individual boxes of cereal, oatmeal, breakfast pastries, and breads with a variety of spreads. While the variety was good, the quality was average to below average. The tater tots were pretty much of the frozen variety and the scrambled eggs did not have the fluffy texture of scrambled eggs; they were more like the baked texture of fast food scrambled eggs in breakfast sandwiches. The bacon and turkey bacon were both good.
Service was good throughout the hotel. The Colorado football team was staying there and the entire staff was decked out in University of Colorado gear, which I thought was an interesting touch.
Room rates are good here. This Renaissance is significantly less expensive than the Boulder Marriott though that hotel has a prime location in Boulder.
This Renaissance is a nice hotel. There were a few things here and there that could have been better, but this hotel felt much nicer than many of the full service hotels you would find in suburban or rural areas. If this hotel was located in a more lively area like Downtown Denver or Downtown Boulder, the hotel could probably charge substantially higher rates. Its location is pretty close to Boulder though so if you do not mind a little bit of a drive, you are likely to have a very nice stay here.
