I have had my hair done twice by Dasha and I’m hooked! First she took my dry dead hair and gave me a fabulous Lob. It made my hair fill fresh and new. Plus she got rid of my dead ends! I had never received so many compliments on my hair! A few weeks later I decided to go shorter. She was able to give me exactly what I was looking for very short and cute in the back but still leaving me length and layers in the front! I have to say this is my favorite haircut I’ve ever had and will be back for her to touch it up ASAP! She help me transform into a new Woman!

Every time I see Miles, I leave happier and happier, if that’s even possible!!! I love my haircut, its so original and spunky, he’s just a true master of his craft! He takes my curly hair and cuts it into an a-​symmetrical Bob inspired by Frankie Sanford… and he nails it. Also when I first found him, I had came from a horrific salon experience at another place that had destroyed my hair… there wasnt much to work with, but he still managed to completely turn it around. Not to mention he humors me by looking at all the hair pics I bring in, he is constantly helping my learn how to properly style my hair and cut, always flexoble despite his super busy schedule, and no his wife Nicole does AMAZING hair as well, so together they just rock… I’ve gone on here many times and raved about him, but I’m just always so impressed that I have to share, pics to follow soon!!!

Miles is a cool dude and knows his craft. Landed with him on moving to Colorado and I will be back. Really nice color work, correcting for/​blending in a marginal bottle job I’d done. Nice highlights and he was very communicative about the dry Colorado air and the right products to use. He was also very accommodating that I had to work through part of the appointment. Nice blowout too. I left feeling like myself and not overly poufy and «done.» He got me through pretty quick — 90 minutes for work that has left me stranded in other salons for hours. He’s a relaxed guy and a good communicator and conversationalist. Thanks Miles!

Whenever I move to a new city I am always very nervous to find someone new to cut my hair. I am very, very picky about my hair. That being said, Miles did an amazing job with my hair at a fraction of the cost I have paid other places. I was very happy and will definitely be back.

This is literally THE BEST hair salon I’ve been to … I have completely white hair and have never had a stylist match to my true warm blonde /​light brown color. Even after spending 5 years in Los Angeles and visiting countless stylists in the area — even paying big bucks in Beverly Hills with poor results. Miles nailed it on my first visit and now Nicole takes great care of me. These two are incredible artists /​stylists who are well respected in the industry. You will not be disappointed !!!

I was recommended to Miles by a friend and researched his Unilocal reviews which stated mainly great things including he was a genius with curly hair. Since I have curly hair I’m extremely particular about my hair stylist and was super excited to try someone new who had great reviews.
I walked out of his salon simply stunned. I drove 40 minutes because I’m willing to do this for some one highly recommended that would do a great job but I got anything but this.
My appointment was for 1240 and was out of the salon by 115. The appointment booking online stated 55 minutes for a woman’s haircut and was only $ 47. Well clearly there’s a reason his pricing is so low compared to everyone. He literally spent maybe 10 minutes tops actually cutting my hair. Didn’t even cut the top or sides of my hair or the front. My hair had gotten extremely long and indeed needed trimmed but miles asked if he could even it up since it had grown into a V shape as he put it and I said yes but what I got was literally a straight across haircut and about 6″ of my hair instantly gone. I never said he could chop 6″ off… I said he could trim it up. Secondly he stated layers were bad for curly hair – I only have layers in my hair so that I don’t end up with a huge frizzy bowl shaped haircut when it’s curly. He left the top layer from the past without trimming it which was slightly an inch above the rest and it looked totally ridiculous. Furthermore he took thinning sheers and stripped my hair thinning it. Then proceeded to put me under a blow dryer and send me out with the frizziest styled hair. I was so embarrassed I couldn’t wait to get home and do it over on my own but all I could do was cry because it looked so horrible and it was at a length I absolutely hated. He clearly doesn’t understand curly hair and anyone with curly hair should beware!
I was a brand new customer and Miles didn’t even talk to me the entire time I was there. He made a few suggestions about what he felt I should use for product but never once asked a single question about how I found him or showed any interest in gaining my business as a customer. In fact he spent the entire time holding conversation with his wife and her client and completely ignored me sitting there getting my hair ruined. It was the most awkward haircut I’ve ever received not to mention horrible.
I gave it a day to think about and then tried to contact Miles via 3 different means of communication expressing my concerns in a professional manor. He responded to an email stating he couldn’t see my message and to respond to that email. I did so and days have gone by with no response. I sent one more email asking for a response to my request which was only half of a refund which I find more than fair given my level of disappointment and the fact I went and got a real haircut from someone who knew what they were doing that cost me more than double what I paid him and still zero response.
My friend cancelled her booked appointment given her referral to him and the way I’ve been treated. We both feel we won’t support someone who runs business this way.

Miles does amazing work-​not only does he do a great job cutting and styling hair-​he is kind, warm, and an interesting conversationalists-​which makes for a great experience. I always look forward to my appointments with him.

This is my first review on Unilocal.I had my first color appointment with Miles and I like most people who have reviewed Miles think that he is awesome and I look forward to a long relationship with him and Roots Salon. I truly don’t understand the review that gave him one star as he was incredibly detailed on explaining how the processes of highlighting, different types of smoothing treatments and styling with heat and flatirons affect the condition of my hair. More informative than any hairdresser that I’ve been to and I’ve been to many in from coast to coast including Horst the originator of Aveda. He explained to me what he thought would work best with my hair and how he’d create a better more natural look along with my desire to have highlights. He also explained how to achieve a better fuller look with a different way of cutting than the last hairdresser had done. I think he’s is absolutely fabulous. I brought in pictures of how my hair was in the past and also of what I liked from magazine pictures and told him exactly what I was hoping for color wise. I’ve had times in the past where I didn’t like the outcome from a hair appointment but always returned for a fix or refund. I can’t imaging that Miles wouldn’t do the same if I was unhappy. It can take time for a new hairdresser to get to know a new clients hair. He even said it may take a couple of times to get to it’s best look as we were correcting some color from the last hair appointment. The best part is how much Miles listens and talks through what you will be doing. I think he’s a Super Star!

After the terrible haircut and color I received from Miles, I wanted to wait a few days for my initial anger to subside before writing a review. But days later, I’m still so upset about my hair that I could cry. Its a color I didn’t ask for and would never want, and its so damaged … I have never in my life seen my hair this damaged. If I’m being honest, I don’t think he knows what he’s doing. The comments here make it seem like he’s a hair genius or something. NOPE. Honestly, I would suggest he find another line of work. This is the worst haircut and color I have ever received and I can’t even use the words to describe how I feel since I don’t believe those words are allowed on this website. In summary, thank you for ruining my hair and allowing me to pay AGAIN to find someone else to fix it. On the upside, if you’re looking for someone to turn your beautiful locks into a haystack of horror, I know exactly who to recommend you to!
Edited for reply: Miles, I don’t have any other salon reviews in my history, except for one which I reviewed very recently for what I perceive to be their poor policy. I did communicate my unhappiness with you on the hair color several times. You told me to go to Sally’s Beauty Supply to buy a product to fix it myself. You also said I could come back in a couple of weeks *if* you have an opening. It was obvious in our discussion that you intended ME to pay to fix what YOU did wrong. A day or so after the horrible cut and color you gave me, I knew I could probably get a free «fix» out of it, but decided that to let you deal with my hair again would be a mistake and here’s why: first of all, you never asked me what kind of highlights I wanted. I didn’t realize this until a day or so later. My hair appears to be all one color because you put tons of thin highlights, which I did not ask for. Besides the color I wanted not being there, the color you left it is a color I hate with a passion. Every time I look in the mirror I absolutely HATE my hair; and even if you had put the right color on, I would still hate it because you put too many highlights in it. My hair used to have bounce, and looked great with a blow dry. I can only assume you also gave me a terrible hair cut in addition to a terrible highlight and non-​existent color. It just sits flat now and does nothing. Maybe its that way because it is so horribly fried and damaged from what you did. Now my options are to totally cover it or just let it be and grow out. Either way my hair won’t look how I want for another year+ because of your mistakes. Also, I never insisted on anything, only went with your recommendations because I trusted you and believed these highly questionable 5 star reviews. From my experience, you don’t know what you’re doing at all. If you want a take away and learning experience, here it is: you don’t listen to what your customer wants. You don’t ask the right questions. I didn’t leave happy, and if you weren’t completely aware of that after the 6 times I mentioned it, then you weren’t paying attention. Although in my opinion, since you had another client who had been waiting, you just wanted me to get out so you could make more money on your next customer and you didn’t actually care if I was happy or not. I’m sure that’s why, in addition to the terrible cut, highlight and color I received, I also got a bum-​rushed, lackluster blow dry. My final piece of advice is, that I don’t think its good for someone who is inexperienced to be in their own salon space; all of your mistakes will continue to go unchecked, no one will correct you or help you learn and grow. Iron sharpens iron as the saying goes. It’s been a month since you did my hair and I’m still extremely angry about it. I got my hair done for my birthday, my sister coming to visit me out of state when I haven’t seen her in 2 years, and to take photos for my blog. Your mistakes ruined all of that for me. Its very clear to me that you don’t care about your clients’ happiness, but I’m an actual person and you totally screwed up my hair. To me its very telling that you accept no responsibility and offer no apologies. That’s fine if you want to believe that I’m a crazy person making up reviews for no reason. Just stay there in your little space and believe what you want to believe, and good luck with that bro.

I’ve been searching for a salon close to home for a while now, and I’ve finally found the whole package. My cut and color were on par, attention to detail was great, and the staff was friendly and provided great conversation for hours. Will be back again, thank you!

I’ve been done wrong by plenty of stylists who claim they knew what they were doing until I met Miles. To start off, Miles is AMAZING; he’s very attentive and knowledgeable in his craft so it comes in handy especially when you have thick hair like me. In the past, I’ve had my hair butchered and nearly all my length taking off. With him, I’m completely worry free and walk away with exactly what I wanted. Needless to say; I will be a very long time client of his and would be more than happy to recommend him to everyone.

Do you have stubborn, thick, straight Asian hair? If so, look no further! This review is for Miles and this is my second review for Roots Salon. The first one was written on behalf of my non-​Yelper husband which should be below this review. This one is for the cut and balayage service I received.
Since moving to Broomfield last year, I have been so lost in regards to my hair. I research way too aggressively for ALL things and hair stylists are at the top of that list. I have been to this so-​called-​hair-​guru who charges $ 80 for a cut. He was a guru alright! Guru at turning my entire head into a giant mess of orange. The second one I found had religious followers that chose to fly in even after moving out of state. She turned my hair into a sad looking shapeless mop. The point is, not everyone ‘gets’ my kind of hair. Miles, however, gets it through and though.
Countless hair stylists have told me how difficult my hair is to lift since it is SO black with a lot of red/​warm tones in it. I thought I would have to make three visits just so we can achieve the color I wanted like all the other times. Well, Miles was able to work his magic and lifted my hair, toned it, and gave me an even better cut and I was out of there in three hours. This is honestly one of the best salon experiences I have ever had and you will also love the affordable pricing. I am so happy that my husband and I’ve found Miles!!! Please don’t ever move out of town because I’ve gotten two compliments on my hair from the time I left you to the time I got back in my office which is only about ten minutes :)

Really impressed! I’m new to the area, and found Roots Salon through all the positive Unilocal reviews, and let me just say I was not disappointed! Miles took generous care of my hair, matched my color perfectly and covered those stubborn «arctic blondes» to perfection. He listened to my hair care concerns, and offered options to suit my needs! This place is truly a rare gem!

Miles is very talented and it is obvious that he truly enjoys his craft. He always has this amazing ability to understand what I’m looking for and how to enhance the vision even further. I feel comfortable going in, and by the time he’s done his magic, that comfort has ten-​folded into the confidence that comes with a great cut. I’ve never had a better experience, what I love most is that, weeks later my hair still looks amazing. I just wish Miles could hear all the compliments that I get :)

After many attempts to find someone to cut my hair here in Denver I finally found someone who knows their craft. I don’t judge how good a haircut is until a week later. If cut wrong, my hair doesn’t grown long, it grows big like a mushroom top. After a month my hair has grown out amazingly. My hair is still easy to manage after almost 4 weeks. I only need another haircut for a trim and clean up. I’m very happy with Miles work. Thank you for not just cutting my cowlick short. That never manages the problem. I have and will continue to recommend miles to everyone.

Found Roots through Unilocal and word of mouth. Scheduled an appointment with Miles. Best hair cut I’ve ever received. Miles really gets it, very highly trained and has a great vision. Love the one chair experience… Was so impressed that I talked my wife into scheduling him as she was looking for a new salon… She has never been happier or looked better with her new cut and color! I highly recommend Roots. West coast style and the best training pedigree available right here in a private 1:1 setting… Can’t beat it. Miles is hands down the best. On my fourth visit already and quality hasn’t faltered… I’m a committed customer from here on out.

I came from LA and was nervous I wouldn’t be able to find someone who I really liked their style and cuts, but I found them in the first shot!
Miles did a great job of cutting my hair and I would recommend him to anyone! He cut my bob exactly as I wanted it and I’m so thrilled!

Hands down, the best service my hair has ever had.
I have very thick, curly hair and just moved up to Denver (super dry climate) from New Orleans (100% humidity). I take good care of my hair and was worried about finding a good salon in Colorado (after being with my stylist in Louisiana for a number of years).
I am lucky to have found Roots Salon. Miles cuts through the curl and highlights like no other stylist I have met. I receive compliments daily on my color and have been able to gracefully transition from a terrible hair cut that I received from someone who did not know how to cut my hair type.
I also love the product that goes onto (and into) my hair at Roots. They use mostly products that have sea botanicals in them, leaving my hair super quenched, healthy, and soft.
