Nate’s Plumbing

Well, no surprise, we had another leak under «This Old House» of ours, called Nates and again they did a great job getting here in a reasonable time and fixed our leak by a true professional.

I called Nate’s Plumbing early in the week to schedule an appointment for a quote on an outdoor shower feature. I was told someone would be here Friday between 2 — 4 pm. I spent my afternoon stuck at home, trusting that the business arrangement would be honored. When 4:30 pm passed without any sign of the plumber, I called to ask where he might be. The receptionist said he was still on a different job he’d begun at 10 am. Somebody should have called me when it became apparent that my scheduled appointment wouldn’t be honored. It’s poor customer service to leave someone waiting, especially when it’s obvious they’ve put their afternoon on hold to accommodate such a long window of time. I told the receptionist that someone should have informed me that my appointment wouldn’t be kept, rather than leaving me sitting around all afternoon. Around 5:30 pm Nate, himself, called. He essentially played dumb and pretended he was calling within the scheduled time, and said he would probably be a little late because he was held up at another job. I informed him it was too late and would interfere with my evening plans. I added that I would have appreciated being alerted when he was aware he wouldn’t be keeping our appointment. He became aggressively agitated, and snapped, «What do you think I’m doing right now?! I’m calling now!!» Nope, I think ‘what he was doing right now’ was calling at 5:30 pm to inform me he was running late for an appointment between 2 pm and 4 pm, which doesn’t even make sense. And I doubt he would have called at all if I hadn’t gone through the hassle of inquiring after the appointment time passed. And to top it off he was blatantly rude. If someone can’t conduct themselves in a logical, decent manner I don’t trust they can reliably perform an adequate job.

Nate is a super nice guy who seems to really know what he’s talking about. He explains things completely so YOU know what he is talking about. What I thought was a problem turned out not to be a problem and that was that! I would definitely recommend Nate’s Plumbing.
