Gold’s Gym

I’ve been going to this golds gym for about a year now, and really like this gym. However i’ve been struggling to stay fit, and maintain a routine. A couple months ago i decided to sign up with a trainer at this location named Aj. Aj was not only super motivating, but also very professional. He made sure to make sure i was comfortable, and helped me set goals. I would highly recommend this trainer! Currently i am loving my new body, and have developed a love for the gym and for working out.

Went to this location twice. Not good. Won’t be back. Managers won’t let you workout without hassling you.

Overall the gym is ok. I like the fact they offer tanning and childcare, with that being said childcare is the reason I left this gym. I only had an issue with one caregiver, but that was enough for me! When you pay money and place your child in the care of a facility you would think for the 1 – 2 hours they are responsible for your child they would give them good care. I feel my child was neglected! My child is not yet potty trained but will let you know when she is dirty and needs to be changed, she also gets diaper rash if its left unattended to! The facility does not change diapers and I’m ok with that policy however their policy is to go and notify a parent so that it can be handled!
I was not notified! When I finished my workout I walked to the daycare center and seen the «care taker» at the door talking with a fellow employee while my child was at the baby gate whining, it was obvious something was wrong! If the worker would have just knelt down and asked my baby what was wrong she would have known! My child had had a dirty diaper for apparently along time because she already developed a rash and the poop was dry! To me that is complete NEGLECT! This is just one of the issues I have had with this caregiver, but that alone was the end for me!

I really like this gym. Good selection of free weights if you’re more into that than elliptical type machines. The staff there is extremely friendly and welcoming as well. The only thing that bothers me is it takes them forever to repair machines once they break, so if someone is using one you usually have to wait a good minute before you can use it.

I have been going to Golds for a couple years now and absolutely love the place.
I feel bad for them for their location. They are hidden by HEB. But they have a very clean locker room, great management, and friendly staff.
They try to keep all their machines in top shape, and I rarely see one down for more than a week. They also have been phasing in new equipment the last few months.
Upside, once a member of Golds you can go to most if not any golds in North America without hassle.
Downside, they aren’t the biggest gym in BCS. I wish they had a pool and a bit more workout space. But overall they are great.
Will continue to be a member there for a long time.

I used to go to Blinn College and they didn’t have a rec center of any kind so this was the closest place I found.
I was usually at school all day until 9:30pm and head straight to the gym. They close at midnight on the weekdays so I usually stay to the end. It’s not packed at all, nice and quiet, and crowd keeps you motivated. At the time I was into body building and they’re were a lot of guys at night that trained professionally. They were cool about me asking them for tips.
