Place is simply amazing! You feel like a little kid at toy «r» us! Staff is great and super helpful! If they don’t have what you’re looking for they can special order it free of charge! Great prices! Going to be q regular here now for sure!

We were looking for a great vinyl record store and found it! They had everything we were looking for and staff was very friendly and helpful. He offered great suggestions and we will definitely be back! Come in and check it out!

Man, these guys utilize every inch of this place. This place is packed with everything, t-​shirts and sweaters of your favorite bands, patches, stickers, cd’s, vinyl, and so much more. This place is definitely geared more towards punks and heavily metalists, but I did see a few vinyls of reggae. The staff was really nice and super cool to chat with. You don’t feel like an outsider coming in.
Only thing I wish they had was more of a variety and options for women. I’ll have to ask if they have any that aren’t on display the next time I come back.

Bionic records is a great store. They don’t specialize in my type of music, but when I wandered in looking for 45s, the salesperson went out of his way to dig out a few hundred records I was interested it. I bought close to 70 to fill up my jukebox

The store is relatively small, but no space is wasted. I’d say it’s about ⁶⁰⁄₄₀ CDs and vinyl. The used LP section was pretty small, but decent quality and priced reasonably. Most of the stock (vinyl at least) was recent pressings and re-​issues. Pricing is what has become the standard, I didn’t see more than one or two new records priced under $ 15. Recommended if you’re looking to grab clean, new copies of punk standards you’re missing (Cramps, Misifts, Circle Jerks, etc) and one of the better metal sections in SoCal.

Absolutely fantastic, Mike is an awesome dude who knows his music. Ask about an artist you’re interested in, and he’ll give his honest picks on the albums worth while. If you are looking for some awesome tees, look EVERYWHERE! You will almost definitely find the music you are looking for, if not just ask and it will be ordered. The greatest thing about Bionic, is that it takes you back in time and gives you a chance to embrace a little hole-​in-​the-​wall location for its wonderful nostalgia. Definitely stop by if you are nearby, there is a great chance you will find something of rarity there.

Cool store in an unexpected location. Awesome selection of obscure metal and punk that I wouldn’t be able to find elsewhere. Great selection of shirts and very friendly employees.

Great lil vinyl store, great punk rock and metal selection. Small selection of hip hop and other random 80s gems. They guys here are cool and friendly. I dont come here often, but its serving its purpose to the community. And thats what counts! Cheers fellas

I come here for the metal LPs and patches. I got a nice Katatonia patch with their old logo here for cheap.
They always have the rare record store day merch here as well, like the Katatonia Buildings 7″ I have. Otherwise, I found a really rare Green Carnation LP here.
They also have a huge selection of metal shirts and hoodies which seem to be good quality. Bionic is no Dark Realm Records, but they are definitely the #2 record store in the area.

Don’t let the photos fool you, this place is super small. First thing I noticed was the smell, almost like the under layer of a ballsack. Not a fan. Their selection is fairly good and would rather support small places like this than bigger chains like Amoeba. This record store has been here forever.

Stopped by to find some vinyls for dad and was surprised by the awesome selection. First of all, record/​vinyl stores are hard to come by these days so having this so close was amazing. Secondly the prices weren’t all too bad. Was only going to give 3stars because I wish they had a bigger selection of jazz but for what it’s worth, this place is bionic! Great for older punk, rock and alternate musica

Came in here with a buddy to browse. Amoeba music is sort of the golden standard but that’s a little unfair considering everything.
A lot of shirts to look at but the sizing and selection has really been picked over. Same with music. I honestly think these guys are on their last limbs for the store which is sad because I used to go to these places when I was a kid after school to hangout and check out new tunes. This is a great place for metal and death metal lovers, good selection and solid shirts. But besides that it’s sort of a swap meet.
I hope this place keeps its doors open, else Amoeba will truly be one of the last ones standing.

Being one of those kids in high school who always had to be wearing an underground heavy metal t-​shirt, I’ve been a fan of Bionic for over 7 years now. I feel like a woman shopping when I try on a Darkthrone or Mayhem shirt; with maybe the band’s logo on the front or perhaps the album cover art. I’ve got some awesome clothing in there-​Darkthrone, Mayhem, Belphegor, Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, Death, Deicide, etc. In other words; all the greats of 90’s death and black metal. I’ve also outfitted myself with a denim jacket full of pins and patches I’ve purchased there as well. Unfortunately, the prices are a little high for my wallet. $ 20 + tax for a t-​shirt is fine; but not when the logo starts to fade after a few weeks of wearing and washing. If the shirts were $ 10 I’d have bought out most of their death metal shirts YEARS ago, but instead I had to wait for birthdays/​Christmas/​work bonuses to shop there. Also, despite their great CD collection, $ 11 and up for CDs nowadays is simply asinine. I’m into «supporting the bands» as much as anybody, but not if it means I can’t even give it a listen! Blowing $ 45 for 2 shirts and a –used– CD just isn’t for me. Either way, this place is still great, so come in with extra money!
Oh yeah, and they sell skateboarding accessories/​punk rock clothing. Don’t ask me.

Bionic is a great little record store that still has that classic charm. They sell CD’s, records, shirts, memorabilia, etc. They didn’t have what I needed this visit, but that was a special circumstance.
Prices may be on the higher side, but I’m fine supporting the local record store. There are not enough of them around here. If you have a hard time spotting them, they’re right next to 5^th Avenue Bagelery.

I grew up going to Bionic and miss this place dearly. The original location was seemingly substantially larger than it’s current, but I am happy that it’s still around. It’s unfortunate that people growing up now won’t really know the joy of unwrapping the cellophane wrap from your brand new compact disc or tape (way back), frantically flipping through the pages of album art while rocking out to your favorite artist. Bionic had the best selection of everything your Tower Records and Sam Goody did not have. They also had endless stickers, patches and buttons. Craig was always super helpful and knowledgeable and just a good all around dude.

This place looks like its on the way out. The selection of music is like going to a garage sale; it sucks. Their CD’s are way too expensive.
They have more vinyl than CD’s so if you want to dig through the piles upon piles of them on the floor, go ahead.
The only reason I go there is for the T-​shirts. They still have a lot of those for $ 17 each.
There is also a lot of junk piled everywhere in that place. It’s unappealing.

I have been going to Bionic Foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I love to check out all the used Cd’s bringing back memories. And anything new Mike orders it for me and I pay no more then any other place with allot less stress of the traffic or malls and that is only if you could find such a place.

I first walked into Bionic Records in Huntington Beach when I was 13. Like Nick S., I too had a run-​in with that infamous RHCP poster where they «all have socks on their junk.» All the more memorable because it was pointed out to me by my dad! «Dad, you’re embarrassing me!» That was 20 years ago. This place will always be a special part of my memories growing up. I grew up in Cypress and I thought the Cypress location was the one cool thing about that mundane, suburban town. I appreciate my home town for other things now, but… yeah. So my heart sank when I drove by the old location and saw that it was empty. And my heart lifted when I later realized that they had just moved up the street! Phew!
Despite what impressions other people may have about growing up «behind the Orange Curtain,» somewhere between Bionic and (if you remember it) Request Video, which broadcast out of Anaheim on KDOC, my really awesome taste in music formed. :P

Guess it’s time I update my review, eh? When I wrote my last one, I didn’t think that Bionic would be open in 2013. Many other stores have come and gone but none have lasted as long as Bionic.
Bionic has a slew of t-​shirts, CDs, and a modest selection of vinyl. I’m not interested in the first two, so I’ll only write about the records. They specialize in punk with an increasing collection of classic rock. That stuff is not exactly my cup of tea, but if you’re looking for Zeppelin or Hendrix, you’re bound to find it here. I keep coming back to Bionic because they tend to have some really random finds at a good price. I’ve been surprised with some hard to find metal, post-​punk, and even Klaus Schulze records. Just gotta be tenacious.
