The food was alright. We got our sushi right away because we were the only ones there at the time. The waitress was nice until the end, I paid and she brought back the change. I said«oh that’s the tip» she said«only 5 dollars?! Take it, Just take it. I was shocked to say the least… it just left me feeling bad. A tip is a tip, It’s complementary not a requirement. And to be so rude is just bad practice,.

This place is pretty good. I’ve come here many times. The sushi is very fresh. It’s never busy so you won’t be waiting for too long. It’s right down the street from my house so it’s my place of preference.

good sushi and a great price… they have a couple ayce options… I got the one with the rolls only… it was more than enough for me they had many great options and it was only $ 16.95 This place is small but still great for groups! I did not give it a full 5 star rating because the wait staff does not speak good English and they«forgot» some of our order but the food we got was good!

Been here twice already. Who knew AYCE would be a bit expensive, when you pile on an extra drink, plus 15% tip and paying jointly with another person(our bill was 50). It helped I had a Korean friend with me in ordering, getting the ajumma lady for extra helpings(for those that don’t know or haven’t figured out, majority of Japanese restaurants/take out places are run by Koreans, especially in southern california).

The only reason i’m even giving it a star is to actually warn people how bad this place is. My friends and i get there at about 6:15 on a Wednesday night and we go for the 21.99 all you can eat sushi where we can get both rolls and sushi. We go and get seated and the waitress tells us that there is a 4 round limit and my friends and I were cool with that because we all thought that we could probably only make it to round 3. So we get our first round pretty quickly and finish that up and we thought we could get even more on our second round so we ordered a lot. At first it took a while for our food to actually come out, but we understood because it takes a while to make sushi. The sushi started coming in waves, but each wave the gaps got longer(which was also understandable because a lot of ayce places do that). But then at the end of our second round the waitress comes and tells us that we can’t order more because we went passed our 2 hour time limit. At first we were all like«oh what the heck what time limit?» and she goes on and says«sorry i forgot to tell, but its on our menu.» We look at the menus and we can’t see it ANYWHERE on the menu. Apparently the the 2 hour limit notice is covered by a piece of paper that is taped onto the menu. So we tell her we didn’t know there was a 2 hour time limit so can we at least get another round in, and she just keeps insisting that we couldn’t. About a minute later my friend comments that it actually hasn’t even been 2 hours yet and that we still had half an hour left because we got that at 6:15 and it was only 7:45 at the time. So we call back the waitress and we tell her that we actually still had 30 min left of time and that we should be able to order more but she keeps insisting that we can’t order more. Then she goes on to say«I’m sorry but i can’t help you come back next time and you’ll know better then.» -.- All i can say is that she still made us pay full price, Cut us a half our short of our meal, and had terrible service. I am NEVEREVER going back there ever again and i recommend that nobody else goes there either, because they’ll just cheat you out of your money.(Btw the yellow tail tasted like it was thawed 5 min before it was served to us… -.-) waste of time and money.

I was amazed of how cheap the all you can eat sushi was. $ 16.95 for rolls only which was find with me. After 4 rolls I was done. They really stuff it with the good stuff.

I grew up in the area, and I’ve seen this place around for decades. I never really cared to try it out because my friends and I are big eaters. One day I heard that they had an all you can eat option, so that was certainly a game changer. Anyhow, four of us big eaters decided to try this out instead of heading to Joe’s Sushi hoping for better quality food. I’d have to say, they did have better food, but their service was pretty slow. It wasn’t particularly busy, but they only had two chefs at the sushi bar. I’m sure they’re nice people and all, but we were there for about three hours and pretty much gave up. The decision was unanimous that we’d be going back to Joe’s next time around for quicker order turn around. If you’re going with just one other person, this place probably isn’t a bad choice as groups of two were able to come in later than us and leave long before us. It’s definitely not a good idea for groups unless you don’t mind sitting around instead of eating.

This is your typical sushi restaurant run by Koreans. I’ve been to many sushi restaurants before so this one doesn’t particularly stand out from the rest, but I have to admit that the sushi is very good, tender… and maybe just a bit overpriced. Apparently, they have a 50% off deal going on, but most of the rolls are regularly so overpriced that it only seems like the average price after the discount is applied. I ordered the shrimp tempura roll(which was very delicious, soft, and a real treat for your taste buds) which was somewhere between $ 9 and $ 10, but there were only six pieces, and two including the shrimp tail. I suppose it’s not bad for someone who only wants to eat one roll of sushi, but I personally eat a lot and $ 10 was just an appetizer. Note: Now, they have the all-you-can-eat sushi deal for $ 16.95 with a billion extra rules and restrictions. They have a whole board of it tacked up in their waiting room; things like you can’t leave anything on your plate(or they charge you extra), you can’t share with a friend, you can’t pick off the sashimi and leave only the sushi-rice, you can’t take-out… it’s a laundry list of rules, all for $ 16.95! But, really, what makes Dado Sushi deserve three stars is the service. Because it’s usually sought by middle-aged men and women, teenagers usually go ignored. I’ve been there three times and the owner lady there was rude, snappy, and dismissive to me while putting on a sweet façade for her older customers. I wouldn’t recommend going at night, there’s a lot of people there… and you’ll have to do a bit of waiting. If you’re a student wanting to enjoy some good sushi with a few of your friends, you might as well go somewhere else that gives you the time of day.

Dado has this awesome special for 50% off certain rolls. & thats essentially the only thing i order.(i used to come here more often, 5+ years ago & the sashimi was solid. however, as i havent ordered it since then i cant really speak for it now) So, the 50% off rolls arent to die and wont fill you up, but theyre yummy and affordable. the Hot roll & philly roll are yum. BUT, the philly roll doesnt have salmon! so, id say pay attention to the descriptions for whats in each roll before ordering. when i ordered(takeout): one roll, i dont get miso soup, yet when i order two, i received two miso soups. ive been ordering take out and its pretty fast. im normally there during off hours and the restaurant always seems fairly empty. its always been the same lady at the front and shes nice and efficient.

I had a really bad experience. Customers beware. They took the wrong order from customer and charged us for the wrong order even though we explained it. Be careful. The owner of Dado is extramly rude to customer and she has no sense of customer service.

Service is pretty much non-existent here. Five of us came in on a Friday night. The restaurant wasn’t busy and the waitress told us to go to a table with THREE chairs. Umm ok. We wanted at a table with at least 4 chairs and maybe pull up another one but the waitress was insistent that we sit at the table with the THREE chairs. And we were the ones that needed to pull the additional chairs to the table while she gave us TWO menus. While we waited turns looking at the menu, I spy an extra menu on the empty table next to us and go grab it. The waitress comes and asks us what we wanted to drink. Well what do you have? She goes and finally grabs a full menu(with the beverage options), instead of the two 50% off special roll menus she gave us initially. I feel like she had this assumption that we weren’t going to order anything off the full menu because we looked young and she didn’t think we were going to spend a lot of money. She takes our orders and then the rest of the night she is virtually MIA. No water refill, nothing. She only comes by to give us our food and gives us our checks even before asking if we wanted to order more. And we wanted to order more! Anyways, as for the rolls themselves. Most of the 50% off rolls were fried. Not a big fan. But the Black Belt roll was pretty good(even though it was fried, the batter was light) and the hot roll, which had jalapenos, spicy tuna and cream cheese. And it was hot! Price wise, not super impressed even with the 50% discount on the rolls. They mark it up so that most of the rolls are $ 13 – 14 and then you get 50% off that. It is a little cheaper then some places but most of the rolls are California rolls with some sorta fish on top. So I’ll give Dado an extra star for somewhat tasty rolls. However, with Dado apparently cheap sushi means bad service.

Da Do is Do Do. This place try’s to hide the taste of the cuts with mayo and filler. After one bite. Oh please, you can tell. Don’t waste your time. 50% off second roll does nothing for me especially with mayo and syrup on the plate. I had the CA. Rainbow and Black Belt roll. Reminded me of Joe’s Sushi all you can eat on Beach Blvd. in La Habra. Taste ahhhh… but you will pay for it the morning after when everything comes out at once…

Pretty standard Local sushi joint. I enjoy the fresh fish here and the reasonable prices. The service is good and the sushi chefs are very friendly. If you’re a yellow tail fan, have some of the spicy yellowtail roll. And if you’re real hungry, go for the Geisha Roll. Its big, but has a good mix of the cooked tempura but also a good portion of fresh fish rolled up in a roll! I’ve followed Ben, one of the sushi chefs, around for a bit. He’s a fun guy, and good chef! Nothing to go out of your way for, but no complaints either!

So we missed the happy hour at another sushi restaurant. It was 6pm. So we browse through Unilocal and find this restaurant. Give em a call and they say their happy hour ends at 10pm. Perfect. We make our way over and sure enough they have 50% off all specialty rolls. Sat down and service was quick. Water and edamame right after the menus are plopped in front of us. Sadly, no drink specials. But needing a nice drink to ease the day and go along with the food, we end up ordering a couple bottles of 16oz Sapporos($ 6 ea… yikes). But the bargain sushi made up for it. Ranging from about $ 4 – 6 a roll after the discount, my buddy and I devoured 5 rolls and were plenty satisfied. Being the fatties we are, ended up getting all fried rolls woooo :) So tasty. Now if they only had drink specials, I’d be able to bump this place up a star: P Otherwise, cheap, yet tasty sushi. Didn’t get any sashimi, but from what I could see, looked pretty fresh.

— Locale destination — It’s in a little shopping mall. It’s not necessary in a nice area — kinda remote and quiet. I really don’t know around area, so I’ll shut up ;p Décor — simple. Run by KOREAN. They said some Japanese words but yeah, all of them were Korean. Service — typical Korean: just don’t expect much. — Gluttony expedition — They didn’t have a sweet shrimp(for the night) nor Spanish mackerel ;( As usual, I checked the sushi counter where they put fish. It wasn’t impressive — jush meh. Special appetizer: Salad with spicy tuna and albacore. OK. Sushi: Uni($ 9.50) and Albacore were good. Baby scallops were marinaded with smelt eggs and mayo. Meh. Yes: They have 50% OFFCUTROLLS ;) Ichiban roll: Slices of shrimp, tuna and avocado on spicy tuna roll. Not bad. Tuna was tasteless. Candy roll: Slices of salmon, albacore and avocado on California roll. Meh, though albacore was good. Salmon was tasteless. — Conqueror’s deduction — I missed their special combos — it’s like from $ 20 to 40, you can have a combo of sushi and sashimi.(3 types of price). If I come back here, I’d just go for the combo. Those are great deals!!! Sushi quality is nothing special, though it’s very very cheap(the Combo). If you don’t mind going to NON traditional Japanese sushi and want sushi w/o spending much, it’s a good choice for you. FYI: I love sushi — especially traditional ones. There was no California roll in Japan when I was there. But I’m not so biased with Non Japanese sushi chefs. Though they just don’t know traditional sushi customs, it doesn’t mean they can’t make a sushi. I see some creative sushi rolls that I NEVER see at traditional Japanese sushi places. Which I think it’s cool in a way. Yeah, you can’t expect what you get at traditional Japanese sushi places. But I don’t mind taking just what it is.

My wife got a job recently that pays her well so she wanted to treat my parent and siblings and was thinking about where to take them. So I went on Unilocal, and saw Dado Sushi on ROTD written by my old college friend, Caroline P. (ROTD Buena Park area on Labor Day) Everything she said was true: — All the Special Rolls are 50% off — Miso soup & Green Tea was good — And she is absolutely right about Sushi… how it can satisfy her because she is not too picky about them. Well…I’m very picky when it comes to Sushi. There is no way I would give Dado Sushi 4 star if this review was just on their Sushi. I was also bit disappointed that they didn’t have Uni(Sea Urchin) in that day. But this place is definitely good place to eat out if you love Rolls and if you want fresh Sashimi. We ordered: — $ 90 Large Sashimi Special(comes with Sashimi plate, salad, Abalone porridge, Pa-Jon which is Korean style pizza, or okonomiyaki-ish, fish cake, Mewoon tang — Spicy seafood soup, Baked Mackerel Saury Pike) — Popcorn Lobster Roll(okay) — Fire Tiger Roll(don’t recommend…) — 1 order of Mackerel Sushi(ingredient is fresh) — 1 order of White Tuna Sushi — 1 order of Spicy Scallop Sushi — 6 orders of Spicy Tuna Handroll.(huge…was okay. $ 4.95 each… bit pricey) On the house: — Albacore Sashimi dish(very nice of them) My parents said their Sashimi was very fresh compared to Kwang Na Ru in Cerritos. I personally wished there were more Sashimi instead of other side dishes. But my parents were right, their Sashimi was fresh. So it came out to be $ 180 ish with tax & tips included Since we were group of 6, that’s about $ 30 per person.(good deal) and we came out so full that we all had hard time breathing…:P Now let the pictures tell the rest of my story…(check out the photos attached, not all of the thing I mentioned above are photographed)

HALFOFFONSPECIALSUSHIROLLS thats all i need to hear to get me going to dado! so today i went with my dad and i ordered the mexican roll which is supposed to be spicy, which is was cause it had some bits of jalapeño in there and best of all it was just 6 bucks! they put a lot of fish into my roll and not too much rice so thats a plus and this roll is way cheaper than a roll offered at niko niko. the place has two nice big screen tv’s so its good for watching games here. they dont give you that many banchan but the server always refilled my miso soup when i drank it all(a lot of sushi places dont do this unless you ask for it) most def coming back!
