Established in 1993.

Dr. Joe Caceres founded Caceres Medical Group in February of 1993 in La Palma, California. As an internist and cardiologist, Dr. Caceres became more aware of this medical condition of obesity as more patients came to him demanding for a medically supervised program to achieve weight loss safely and according to their circumstances and specific needs.

In the 1990s, the initial visit consisted of:

(1) Balanced-​calorie diet;

(2) Comprehensive blood test;

(3) Exercise program including aerobic activity, flexibility, and muscle strengthening;

(4) Behavior modification including monthly group sessions;

(5) Nutrition education; and

(6) Medications such as appetite suppressants and diuretics prescribed to those with excessive water retention.

Dr Caceres is the founder of Caceres Medical Group (CMG) and Buena Park Heart Center (BPHC). He has been a practicing physician in the United States for more than 32 years.

Dr. Caceres is the recipient of the America’s Top Physician Award and America’s Top Cardiologist Award. He has helped hundreds of patients to accomplish weight loss gradually, safely and permanently.
