Seung H Baek, DDS

Dr Baek is the most kind, honest and gifted dentist. Hard to come by nowadays. I have been coming here for 3 years now and have brought my family here as well. I don’t write reviews often. I am writing this because I owe it to everyone who is looking for a one of a kind dentist to come and visit Dr Baek’s office and see for yourself. If you have children, he is awesome with them– has little ones of his own. He is not only a professional in dentistry but he treats you like family. I saw a couple negative reviews on here which surprised me but you can’t make satisfy everyone.

Can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place yet!
I’ve been going to Dr. Baek for the past two years, and I don’t regret it! They recently moved to a new location, which is really nice. The only downside is the parking. There are barely any parking spots, but I think they don’t book appointments that exceed the number of parking spots.
Dr. Baek is not pushy with any type of service. He will let you know the best options, and makes you feel so comfortable. During procedures, he’s very gentle and is concerned about his patients. He always checks up on how I feel every few minutes.
If you’re looking for a new dentist, I would highly recommend Dr. Baek!

I’ve been coming to this dentist off and on for a couple of years. Dr. Baek is a great dentist and so is his assistants :) and the office manger Tom is also very nice. Dr. Baek is very gentle, always asking if I’m ok. Recently I needed to get 2 root canals done before I have surgery, Dr. Baek and Tom worked with me to make sure I got them done before my procedure.. I even tried to reschedule and he said nope were on a deadline lol. Again great dentist, assistants and office manager. The office is very nice as well

I’m pretty simple when it comes to doctor/​dental appointments. I am okay with needles, drills, etc. and don’t mind putting up with the dentist/​assistant scraping at my teeth with that little hook instrument that they use because I figure it’s all part of the cleaning.
That being said, I was actually very impressed with my routine check up. Maybe I’m living under a rock but my visit was SUPER.
The tool used was a machine-​thing (yes, that’s the proper name. LOL JK NO IT’S NOT) that literally took like 5 minutes. At first I was confused and wasn’t sure if my teeth were cleaned or if that was just a preliminary clean before getting to the actual cleaning but until I looked in the mirror I was shocked at how clean my teeth where without ANY pain or discomfort. Seriously. All plaque, stains – GONE!
It felt like a light buzz on my teeth. None of this constant uncomfortable scrapping and hearing that ‘nails to a chalkboard’ sound.
Then my teeth were polished and I was good to go.
Also Dr. Baek went over my teeth xrays and explaining to me the overall health with my teeth which I’ve only had one other dentist do with me many years ago so it was good to be informed and up-​to-​date.
Also the office is actually pretty warm and inviting instead of feeling like I’m in a clinic. It’s just a better modern feel. Some people may not care, but I DOOO.
Parking is available off of Artesia Blvd (you make a quick turn into this alley way where you park BEHIND the dentist office).

About three years ago, my dentist sent me to an endodontist because I felt some pressure on one of my low front teeth and the x-​ray showed something suspicious. The endodontist did a root canal work. A year later, the gum adjacent to the same tooth got swollen and I observed a tiny white bump on it, which contained puss. The same endodontist said that it was too late to save the tooth. I saw another endodontist while I was visiting Hawaii last October. She said the same thing.
Returning home to California, I visited Dr. Baek, who used to be my son’s dentist. I told him the history of my problem. He first agreed that perhaps he could not save it either, but said he would try an alternative treatment before extracting it. He lodged a tiny antibiotic stick between the tooth and the gum. Two weeks later, he observed an improvement. He repeated the same procedure. When the swelling was reduced, Dr. Baek could see that the crack was not deep and was only on the shallow surface, which either the x-​ray or the other dentists failed to detect. He removed the tiny broken piece of the tooth, leaving the surface fairly smooth. Now the gum is firmly attached to the teeth, leaving no room for root-​canal-​causing germs. Dr. Baek saved me the tooth and the expense of a surgery or extraction.
My experience with Dr. Baek shows that he is truly a patient-​oriented and trustworthy professional.

Dr. Baek is on the best dentists out there! He helped me replace some of my broken fillings and repaired some chipped teeth. I was comfortable during the entire procedure and he was always checking to make sure I was OK during the appointment. The fillings were done with the white composite resins and he did a great cosmetic job because I couldn’t tell where he fixed the teeth because they were so well blended in.
He told me that some of my teeth which were damaged may end up needing root canals if the damage was deep. It’s been a few years now since the procedure and I’ve not had a root canal yet. I saw a previous reviewer which stated that they were told by Dr. Baek they would need a lot of root canals. Dr. Baek has always been honest and kind with me and I have never ever felt pressured to do any sort of unnecessary work.
I’ve known him for a long time now and although I don’t live in California anymore, I heartily recommended my parents to go see him because they’ve had some poor experiences recently and I know they will be very well taken care of by Dr. Baek. If you’re looking for a honorable, honest, kind and highly skilled dentist than you need to go make an appointment with his office!

Dr BAEK dentistry is a first class dentistry my family has been going over the last 6+ years. His staff has always been professional, courteous, and welcoming. Making appointments have been seamless and the service my family has been receiving has been phenomenal. I know he uses the state of art technology in his office. I put my trust in the Doctor with all dental needs for my family. There were a few times my son had accidents which required immediate attention on dental work. Not only did the doctor and staff went above and beyond to provide care, the doctor did everything he could to save and preserve. My son has said this is his favorite place to come and loves to see the doctor on friendship level at times. Dr Baek is a professional and patient caring doctor at all times proving all options and understanding of service for his patients. It will be a tough decision to look for another doctor in this area, since we are in good hands.

Untrustworthy? told me I needed 4 root canals for $ 6k. Went to another dentist and all I needed was an onlay. Felt like I was being cheated since I had good insurance and they wanted to take advantage of it. I only have one set of teeth in life so I want to preserve them! Doctors are supposed to help people.

I have been coming to Dr. Baek’s office for several months now and I could not be happier to have him as my dentist. I have had my share of dental horror stories, as well as dentists who have tried to scam me into procedures that I didn’t need. Because of this, I was very hesitant to come here at first and wanted to avoid going to any dentists as much as possible, but I’m so happy that I did because I have found a dentist that I can finally trust.
Dr. Baek is very friendly, professional, kind, and knowledgeable at his practice. He ensures that I understand what is going on, and he takes the time to explain everything very thoroughly. He even answers all the questions that I have (and I have a lot.) and goes above and beyond. He has never pressured me to agree to any procedure (as have other dentists from my past) and I know that I can trust him because of that. Tom, the office manager, is also helpful and informs me of what my insurance options are and gives me a breakdown of how I can maximize my insurance benefits so my wallet can be happy. Tom is courteous and welcoming each time I come into the office, as is Dr. Baek and the other dental assistants there.
In conclusion, I am SO glad that I can call Dr. Baek my dentist and I HIGHLY recommend him to everyone! Please give his office a visit and you will see why I and so many other people are so satisfied! :)

This is a great place especially if you don’t enjoy going to the Dentist. Dr. Baek is patient and caring and makes sure you aren’t in discomfort while he’s performing an extraction or root canal. I feel comfortable going here and tell all my friends. I live in south Orange County and drive up to Buena Park on the 5fwy. They are flexible with appointments and will try to accommodate to your work schedule. Nice office and modern equipment. You can’t go wrong stopping by here.

I found this place on Unilocal and have been going here since a few years ago. For lasting results on the dental work, I will still have to see in a few more years, but Dr. Baek is very sincere and down-​to-​earth. He is well educated and has a good heart for people and his work. I also love their office hours, which allows me more room to set up an appointment around my schedule without having to miss work.

Always a pleasure to come here.
Although, I am never scared of going to the dentist. There is nothing to be afraid of when you come in.
Tom the office manager is kind and friendly. The music and ambiance is so comforting. And Dr. Seung Baek is the best!
I am glad I found this gem! It is always so difficult to find a great dentist and staff… And I am so glad I did.

In short: trustworthy.
There are too many unreliable dentists I’ve had who have only contributed to my deep mistrust of them. Despite all that personal «baggage,» Dr. Baek was the first practitioner I’ve had that is not only knowledgeable and dexterous, but patient-​oriented. He takes the time to honestly assess your teeth, offer your options and explain the procedure, to reduce all that anxiety that comes with treatment.
This man cares about prevention and your (teeth’s) well being, for reals. Seriously, kudos for patient education.

Do not go here! I had a root canal in Dec 2013, and then my crown fell out several months later. I went back in, and the dr. simply re cemented the crown in.
My crown fell out AGAIN just a couple days ago and I decided to try another dentist– she examined me and said the tissue around the root canal doesn’t look good.
Then, after 2 x-​rays, she tells me I have a cavity there (which explains why I have discomfort around that tooth– which should NOT be the case if I’ve had a root canal!) because the previous dentist did not fit/​place the crown properly and that the tooth cannot be saved. :(so now, in my 30s, I will be getting a tooth extraction and dental implants.
I really wanted to like this office/​the staff is nice, the location is convenient, the equipment is state of the art– but ultimately, the workmanship is shoddy. Notice that other Unilocal reviews praise the massage chair, but really say nothing about the doctor’s expertise!

Dr. Baek is good! Very nice, non-​judgmental, and talented. He is fast and does a thorough non-​painful job. All the staff are friendly and extremely informative and helpful.
My favorite part is the soothing music playing and the seat gently massaging your back while you are getting your teeth cleaned!

Alright, this is embarrassing for me to say, but I have avoided going to the dentist for OVER 15 years, partially due to childhood trauma from a horrible dentist office, and the lack of insurance. I needed a dentist bad, and I knew that my teeth were not in good shape. So what did I do? Unilocal.I did a lot of research on multiple dentists offices, read reviews, and even asked friends about the dentists they used. I got a few recommendations, but I couldn’t get over the reviews left for Dr Baek. They were all fantastic. It couldn’t be true right? So I decided to make an appointment and see for myself.
But before I even made the appointment, I emailed Dr Baek and explained to him my predicament and my horrible past history with dentists. He emailed me back on his day off and assured me that he could empathize with me and that he would make the visit as low key, and stress free, as possible. So I bit the bullet and made an appointment online. I was a nervous wreck. I was panicking. On the day of the appointment, I was greeted by Tom, the office manager, who was very professional and cordial. Then Dr Baek walked out from the back and remembered who I was from the email. He greeted me with a warm smile, a firm handshake, and told me that this was just a day where he is going to talk to me about the condition of my teeth and treatment plans. I took panoramic xrays of my teeth, then some more xrays to specific areas of my teeth. The assistants there are also very nice and professional. After the xrays, Dr Baek asked me about symptoms or pain I was feeling in my teeth. He then proceeded to look around my mouth just to get a visual of everything. He didn’t smirk, he didn’t look down me, he didn’t pass any judgement, he always maintained a very professional attitude, while still being friendly.
So while you sit in the «chair» which massages your back by the way, you have a huge flat screen television in front of you with digital photos of your teeth, xrays, and treatment plans. He explains thoroughly about what procedures should be done first out of urgency, and things that could be done at a later time (due to financial constraints). He makes recommendations, but doesn’t force anything on you. Everything is in your control and all the choices are up to you. How awesome is that? He will answer any questions you may have and spends however much time he needs to explain everything to you. So after that initial visit, I needed to get 2 root canals and crowns asap, and other stuff done like fillings and such at a later time, if I wanted. I went back into the lobby with Tom, and he explained everything I needed to know regarding my insurance and payments. He broke it down and printed it out for me. Their prices were very fair and I made my next appointment to begin the root canal a few days later.
So now I’m at a few days later, I go back to get my first root canal done. I walk in, and since the first visit, everyone is still very professional and cordial with you. I again meet Dr Baek, he has that warm smile, he shakes my hand, and tells me that it will be a painless procedure. And guess what? I literally felt nothing! What the!!! You know how everyone says that root canals are painful? Well, they were wrong, because the only unpleasant thing about this last visit, was having to open my mouth for 45 minutes. Dr Baek made sure during the whole treatment, that I was ok, by asking me every ten minutes or so if I was. Before the procedure, he also explains EXACTLY what he plans to do so there are no surprises. He also will tell you during the procedure what I might feel or hear (i.e. slight pressure, drilling sounds, water, etc…) before each part. How awesome is that? Don’t get me wrong, I was still a nervous wreck, but the way Dr Baek runs his practice, is all about the patient. You are his first priority.
I am so glad I found this dentistry and I feel a lot less nervous about going back for my next visits! I have already started recommending him to my friends and family and I even got my girlfriend to go to his office for a check-​up! If you’re in the northern OC area and in search of a dentist, Dr Baek is the guy to go to.

I love this dentist, he really cares and knows what he’s doing. He’s very prompt and personable and really attends to his patients. He also has new tech and updated rooms compared to my previous dentists. His billing system also is awesome, he’ll work with you on payments, unlike others where they see you as dollar bills. He really cares bottom line!

I’ve been making the trip to Buena Park from la because Dr. Baek is really that good. He’s very knowledgable, professional and overall a really good guy. Dr. Baek isn’t only my dentist, he’s a good friend. His staff is awesome and you’ll love the little touches from the message chairs to the care packages he gives you every visit. You won’t find a better dentist and crew in oc or la!

Very nice and smart dentist, really recommend! He explained everything what’s happening in my mouth. And you’ll not be disappointed. People here really know what they are talking about. Tom was so nice he itemized and explained every detail I have to know. Can’t wait for my next appointment.
Just an update-​got my nice and confident smile after my last visit with dr. Baek, really thought I’m gonna really have to do implant with my front tooth but he was able to save it, so happy that I really made a good decision of choosing him as my dentist.:)
